The Dred Scott decision (Dred Scott vs. Sandford 1857) upheld the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, stating that slaves were not citizens and therefore had no rights under the Constitution. Which pleased Democrats no end, as that was the Party’s position.

A smart man would have quit there. Instead, since the Northern states would not allow slavery, the South (Democrats) went to war four years later to force the entire country to do things their way. And they lost.

In short, they don’t believe anyone has a right to disagree with them, don’t believe they are ever wrong about anything, and don’t have the sense to quit while they’re ahead.

I can’t recall where I read it, but, Armalite is apparently trying to have it both ways. Their CEO claims they are joining the reverse boycott of LE departments, but will still sell to individual officers.
