Of course: Former EPA chief “Richard Windsor” had some buddies

posted at 4:41 pm on February 19, 2013 by Erika Johnsen

I suppose it stands to reason that, if erstwhile EPA chief Lisa Jackson spent part of her tenure using an — er — shall we say, extracurricular e-mail account to quietly conduct EPA business and eclipse transparency laws in order to cloak the EPA’s job-killing agenda, some of the people with whom she was conspir–I mean, corresponded, probably had e-mail aliases, too. If the chief thought it was a good idea, why not get some of her lieutenants in on the scheme, too?

The EPA released the second tranche of Richard Windsor e-mails required by the FOIA request from the Competitive Enterprise Institute and subsequent lawsuit against the agency (nevermind that they withheld 900 e-mails from the first batch in January without much explanation), and Ranking Republican Sen. David Vitter on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee today revealed some of their findings today. Turns out Richard Windsor wasn’t acting alone, emphasis mine:

The release shows that acting Administrator Bob Perciasepe used a private email account to conduct official business, similar to Region 8 Administrator, James Martin, who is the subject of an ongoing investigation launched by Vitter and U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee (OGR) Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).

Sen. Vitter also announced today that he has learned Martin is resigning this week, less than two weeks after hiring legal counsel and following a letter from Vitter and Issa. Read more about Vitter and Issa’s investigation into Martin here.

“Region 8 Administrator Martin is likely resigning this week in part because of the open investigation about his use of a non-official email account to conduct official business,” said Vitter. “Now we know that Lisa Jackson’s acting replacement, Bob Perciasepe, appears to have been doing the same thing to dodge the agency’s mandatory recordkeeping policy. EPA owes us all some answers about their absolute disregard for transparency, especially from their acting administrator or any potential nominee to be administrator.”

In documents obtained by Senate EPW and House OGR committees, Region 8 Administrator Martin used a non-official, me.com, e-mail account, which may have been an attempt to circumvent the Federal Records Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and Congressional oversight. The Richard Windsor email release shows that Bob Perciasepe was using a non-official, “perciasepe.org,” email account, too.

So, it turns out that multiple officials within the Obama administration may have been using ‘unofficial’ e-mail accounts to try to fly their controversial agenda beneath the radar of public notice and hide the agency’s pervasive “we do what we want, the costs be damned” attitude? Meh. Just a day in the life of the Obama administration, a.k.a., The Most Transparent Administration, Evah.

In terms of transparency, look, I’ve sat in that office for two years and helped make the decision to — for one thing on transparency, let’s lift on a monthly basis, the list of every person that walks in the White House. That was a big, big step, and one that seems easy now, but had never been done before we got in there. So, I think the level of transparency in this White House is different, but there’s no doubt there will always be tension here as long as there is a republic with a president and a working press corps.

Hear that, America? You have a list of every person who walks in and out of the White House. You should be so lucky.

The funniest part about the WH visitors log is that Barack Obama only shows up occasionally. After all, they still haven’t installed a golf course and surfing wave machine.

You know we pay $43,000 to have that cow, Lisa Jackson’s portrait painted. That cow ruined lives and families with a stroke of her pen and enjoyed every minute of it. May she rot in hell.

If a Republican had done this the treasonous media would be blaring it 24/7. They’ll ignore it of course.

How any liberal can think this administration isn’t corrupt and out to turn America into a socialist hellhole is beyond me. Liberals everywhere probably spend most of their time rationalizing and deluding themselves.

Letget is right: later on we will find this is standard practice right throughout the administration, from the EPA toothier agencies and even the WH. And the smarter people among these slime balls will have multiple names, including special purpose ones for specific purposes that get thrown away and never used again once their nefarious crimes are completed.

Any one have access to a blog in China to get the word out to them?

No, no my friends, it is not an attempt to “circumvent” the Federal Records Act and the Freedom of Information Act, but an obvious attempt to “defeat” these Acts, which is a federal crime. The useless and ridiculous FBI, which has totally failed this country on major issues since the 1930’s (there is no Mafia!, what atomic spies?, what 9/11 terrorists?), will not, of course, even investigate this clear outrage. But, hey gang, have you heard that interstate auto theft identifications are up? The insurance industry is pleased. Woweee! Really, really great. It made my day!

Even that isn’t true. Remember the conflict over “official” visitors to the White House and “unofficial” visitors just dropping by which just happened to involve union bosses, big fundraisers for the Dems, and others who would have raised conflict of interest concerns.

Let’s just say it. Barak Obama and everybody in his administration is a liar. They don’t get the truth wrong. They are liars who should not be trusted.

Not creating a paper trail is something entirely different from anonymous e-mail accounts so that FOIA requests only reveal mundane stuff like the EPA BBQ cook-off or use of the copier. Individuals and organizations seeking information under FOIA can’t ask for what they don’t know and having a bogus persona to conduct official business is one of those things that they can’t know.

This is more than a fireable offense. People should be going to jail beginning with Lisa Jackson in a men’s prison given that Richard Windsor was the one committing the crime.

Fixed. It’s what the eco-fanatics are all about, and it’s time we stopped fooling ourselves about it. They are as irrational- and apocalyptic- as the mullahs in Iran who think starting a nuclear war will convince the Twelfth Imam to come out of the well.

How any liberal can think this administration isn’t corrupt and out to turn America into a socialist hellhole is beyond me. Liberals everywhere probably spend most of their time rationalizing and deluding themselves.

darwin on February 19, 2013 at 5:07 PM

No, they just think they’ll be running the hellhole. Dictatorships, even primitive ones, are places the ruling class can live well at everyone else’s expense. And when things fall apart, there are always mass executions as afternoon entertainment, and of course Swiss bank accounts to ensure a comfortable retirement in Aruba, or another place with sun, sand, beach bunnies, cheap booze and nose candy, and no extradition treaties.

It worked for Idi Amin.
