Actually, if you require background checks for all sales, then you have effectively eliminated private sales. When I run the check, the government now has a record of my intended sale. It’s no longer private. I think that’s the premise behind the wording.

The last one is incorrect. Private sales are still allowed, it will now require a background check unless its a collectible or to a direct family member. Makes no sense to ban private sales and to require a universal background check on private sales. I like RMGO but Dudly some times makes these out to be more than they are. He’s correct on all the others though.

I’ve been in Colorado over 30 years – but if these bills go through, I’ll have to start considering Texas.

A quick update on the draconian gun bills that were heard today on the House Floor for final passage:

• HB-1224: Bans all magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. FINAL VOTE: 34-31 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Lebsock, and Vigil voting NO.

• HB-1226: Bans armed self-defense on college campuses; expanding criminal safe-zones to all state college and university campuses. FINAL VOTE: 34-31 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Lebsock, and Vigil voting NO.

• HB-1228: Imposes a Jim Crow-style gun tax on all purchases. This legislation has no limit on the amount the CBI could charge for a background check. FINAL VOTE: 33-32 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Mitsch-Bush, Vigil, and Young voting NO.

• HB-1229: Bans the private sale of firearms and institutes universal background checks/gun registration for all Colorado gun owners. FINAL VOTE: 36-29 with Democrat Rep. Vigil voting NO.

These pieces of anti-gun legislation can still be stopped. Contact your Senator today to let them know you expect a “NO” vote on these gun control bills. Wonder what a great number of CO citizens who are for the 2nd think of this? Will they be moving also to states where they aren’t under the d control capital?

I’ve had it with these Denver and Boulder liberals. If they retain power in 2014 after this I’m moving my family and my business to Cheyenne. Grew up in colorado. Very pro freedom state up until a few years ago. People from costal states have ruined this place. Sick of it all.

The only obtrusive CCW law in NV is in Clark County. I got my CCW over a year ago and it was easy-peasy. Move to NV and help us unseat Reid…

Actually, NV looks worse and worse by day what with all the liberals and illegals from GULAG moving here in droves. Never mind another housing bubble they are making in the process, in another couple of years as Clark Co (and liberal unions full of illegals) go so will NV. Having Arnie Jr . (fake “republican”) as Governor doesn’t help things, either. Look at 2 anti-gun bills, similar to those elsewhere introduced just now and you will understand its just a matter of time.

We moved here a year ago and already looking at our options elsewhere, although AZ may be going same way as NV albeit at slower speed.

Depressing. This state is all but gone. I’m not sure how the GOP gets to 270 without it though. Dark times.

The GOP showed themselves to be as useless as the Whigs last November.

We need a better alternative, though it will take time and pain.

So having gone underground for 2 decades, even getting the NRA to send money to some Ds, they are back…stronger than ever.

And with Rs in the doldrums, some D will very likely win in 16. So then it will be over. By 2020, very limited 2A (hunters) and single payer.

Of course. Its much easier to prosecute honest citizens who try to obey the rules.

Our family reunion is in Colorado Springs in June. By then I will have my TX CHL. I will have to keep myself appraised of the the CO CHL state laws.

Colorado Springs is a decent area – very Republican, but there are enough libs here in some areas to elect a couple Dems. El Paso County Sheriff was one of the first to say he would not enforce any law that violates the 2nd Amendment.

Colorado has been shifting Dem for awhile, starting with the flood from Kalifornicatia in the 90s, but most are in the Denver-Boulder area – and because of the population, they control the state. Kind of like Chicago controls Illinois.

For those who think they can escape to TX or AZ, that won’t help if the Democrats in Washington are encouraged by states like CO to pass national magazine bans and registration. Can you beat it in court? Maybe, but Democrats will be appointing the federal judges, too. If you don’t fight back when the fighting is easy, you’ll end up having to fight with your back against the wall.
