Less red tape, improved speed on oil-and-gas permits? Ok, let’s see it

The immense fogbank known as “Obama’s Rhetoric” is the stuff of legend. I hear that The Weather Channel may elevate it to “named storm” status in the near future.

US President Barack Obama on Tuesday pressed Congress to pass a cap-and-trade bill on greenhouse gas emissions, warning that he may use his executive powers to impose pollution controls if the legislature does not act.

He already HAS used executive powers to impose controls on greenhouse gas emissions, back in 2010. The EPA imposed “Rules” on power plants emitting more than 250,000 tons per year of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to about 80 Megawatts (MW) of power from natural gas.

Trouble is, most commercial gas turbines produce over 200 MW each, meaning that EPA’s “Rule” prevents the permitting of new natural-gas-fired power plants, despite the fact that they produce less pollution per megawatt than coal-fired plants.

What good is a natural gas boom if we can’t generate power with it?

The only reason “wind added nearly half of new power capacity in America” is because Obama has prevented the development of other, cheaper power sources…such as natural gas!!!

Anyone who judges this man by his actions is almost non existent!

We are so screwed until this Jug-eared fool leaves office.

As long as countries like China keep going all-in on clean energy, so must we.

That must be why their air is so clean. Is China “all-in” on civil rights now too? Well, let’s copy them!

As the gun restricting ‘debate’ dies down, the apocalypse theory begins new life. Timing is impeccable and I expect tornado season and then hurricanes and then the eternal-drought-maps, it’s going to be a long year. This will be the year of rescusitation of CAGW/AGW/Climate Change.

My favorite response is: Show me anywhere that the climate has changed.

Most of the land in New Mexico is controlled by the Bureau of Land Management, and while you don’t have the same situation as, say, New York, where fear of Yoko Ono coming to his office and singing about contaminated wells is keeping Gov. Cuomo from allowing any fracking activity upstate, oilfield companies in N.M. have been angry since 2010 about the glacial permitting process to speed up drilling on BLM lands.

If Big Oil would stop backing solar and wind, maybe…just maybe.
