Breaking: Fugitive Chris Dorner “pinned down” by California police

posted at 5:01 pm on February 12, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via Ace, two cops have already been shot but Dorner’s reportedly “pinned down” so the end, hopefully, is near. Details are sketchy right now: The word on cable news is that Dorner broke into someone’s cabin, tied up the couple that owned it, and was then intercepted by police shortly afterward. He may or may not have opened fire at a roadblock. Here’s the live feed from Big Bear. Stand by for updates.

Update: Dorner now holed up in a cabin and surrounded?

Update: More from the LA Times:

The shooting occurred after Dorner burglarized a home, tied up a couple and stole a white pickup truck, sources said. San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller confirmed deputies responded to a vehicle theft about 12:20 p.m., and the resident who reported the theft said the suspect matched Dorner’s description.

The U.S. Forest Service confirms there was an exchange of gunfire between officers on foot and the suspect, in the Santa Ana River drainage, north of State Highway 38 and south of Big Bear Valley. At least one officer of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was involved, said John Miller, San Bernardino National Forest spokesman. That officer is not believed to be injured.

Hundreds of cops had searched for him on the mountain in the last few days. Where was he hiding?

Update: At long last, civilization mercifully comes to an end:

Update: One of the cops shot by Dorner has reportedly died. Meanwhile, here’s what MSNBC is talking about.

Then again that would only prove Dorner was sniped by a member of the Utah State Patrol just as he was about to surrender.

Lethal injection is the primary method of execution in CA. An inmate has to ask for gas.

http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/methods-execution#ca

The last inmate executed by gas in California was David Edwin Mason in 1993.

Resist We Much on February 12, 2013 at 8:28 PM

What exactly is your point? Executions in California take place at San Quentin’s Gas Chamber, they built a room right next to gas chamber for lethal injections, but it’s still the same building. It shares the Gas Chambers witness gallery. Nor did I every actually stipulate HOW California performs it’s executions. Just that we still have the death penalty.

My bet it was some swabbie with a paint scraper getting a little too excited on the side of a boat and throwing sparks.

The report I heard was there was the sound of a single gunshot from the cabin. I’m not going to go all “I know what happened” about it, LIKE SOME DO, but that sounds consistent with suicide.

I wanted to see him arrested, taken step by step through the process of “DUE PROCESS” convicted and executed. Now get this through your thick phucking SKULL I OPPOSE the death penalty, yet made myself 100 percent indisputably clear that that is what Dorner deserved.

I place a greater value on the United States Constitution and the Rule of Law, than I do on any narcissistic desire for vengeance.

Like President John Adam’s, who defended Captain Preston over murder charges relating to the Boston Massacre, I believed that the rule of law should be paramount and mob rule should not be permitted.

How can anyone honestly claim to be for smaller government, more personal responsibility, and a more Constitutional application of the 2nd amendment, and then turn around and be that blindly trusting of the “Law Enforcement Community”. I don’t like or dislike police. I HATE Dorner.

annoyinglittletwerp on February 12, 2013 at 7:17 PM

IF Dorner is guilty of everything the Fifth Column Treasonous Media so far has asserted him to be guilty of, then hopefully, he will be taken alive, tried in a court of law where every single bit of evidence is brought out, convicted, and then sent to San Quentin’s Gas Chamber where he can be executed.

So, let’s not leave any confusion what my feeling regarding Christopher Dorner are.

I believe in the Rule of Law and the United States Constitution. If Dorner is to die over this, it needs to be according to the Law, not a police execution (something the cops here in California are mind numbingly well known for).

This guy wasn’t some Constitutional zealot worried about someone stepping on the 2nd amendment.

Don’t be a moron. My point is perfectly clear. This is what will happen to any of you who dare to “water the tree of liberty.” Try it and see.

Don’t be a moron. This is what happens when you kill innocent people in cold blood.

Quick. I hear all the guns are being sold. Maybe you can still get some night vision goggles if you’re quick! They’ll come in handy, I’m sure.

lostmotherland on February 12, 2013 at 9:43 PM

This is what happens when you kill innocent people in cold blood.

What will “watering the tree of liberty” involve?

lostmotherland on February 12, 2013 at 9:44 PM

The government doesn’t f*ck around.

lostmotherland on February 12, 2013 at 9:39 PM

That’s pretty much ALL the government does. Around, over and up.

ddrintn on February 12, 2013 at 9:44 PM

When they come for your guns, this is what it will look like. Better stock up on those baked beans, soldier-boy.

lostmotherland on February 12, 2013 at 9:45 PM

Hey!:)

MontanaMmmm on February 12, 2013 at 9:38 PM

Hey MontanaMmmm! How have you been? Sorry to not respond right away. Our cowardly little ditch digger just showed. Shovel in each hand and rearing to go. He expects me to do his digging for him. Ha! Lazy like water that one.

Don’t know. Take that up with Jefferson. I didn’t write it.

Ask Mr. Dorner his opinion on that. Oops.

And so Dorner’s completely justified in killing people in cold blood simply because there are corrupt cops. Fight The Power! That’s sick.

Well, moonie, when “they” come for the guns “they” will have to deal with more than just one loonie anti-gun unhinged Piers Morgan fan.

Thanks for saving me the time of posting a comment that buttressed what I was talking about. I’ll point you to the part that gets the attention of someone who had no idea how much you hated cops.

I believe in the Rule of Law and the United States Constitution. If Dorner is to die over this, it needs to be according to the Law, not a police execution (something the cops here in California are mind numbingly well known for).

And, by the way, hump…dorner is one of yours. He belongs to you leftists…lock, stock and barrel. He is a product of everything that you clowns have espoused for all these long years.

Aren’t you proud of your creation?

Solaratov on February 12, 2013 at 9:47 PM

Ah, so this is your rant about smokin’ weed and getting tossed in the slammer by the Man. I suppose who is more dangerous depends on a whole slew of factors but on a purely hypothetical basis every cop in America is more dangerous than some “poor, joint-carrying dude”, including the poor deputy that got killed today.

You also said in a later post that a truck was shot up because the passengers were “brown”, so I’m wondering, since one of the cops who shot up the truck was brown himself…what was his basis for shooting at fellow brown people?

Bishop

I don’t know. Was he/she the one that made the call to start shooting or was he/she just one of the cops that was told to start shooting because Dorner was in the car?
