Breaking: Fugitive Chris Dorner “pinned down” by California police

posted at 5:01 pm on February 12, 2013 by Allahpundit

Via Ace, two cops have already been shot but Dorner’s reportedly “pinned down” so the end, hopefully, is near. Details are sketchy right now: The word on cable news is that Dorner broke into someone’s cabin, tied up the couple that owned it, and was then intercepted by police shortly afterward. He may or may not have opened fire at a roadblock. Here’s the live feed from Big Bear. Stand by for updates.

Update: Dorner now holed up in a cabin and surrounded?

Update: More from the LA Times:

The shooting occurred after Dorner burglarized a home, tied up a couple and stole a white pickup truck, sources said. San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller confirmed deputies responded to a vehicle theft about 12:20 p.m., and the resident who reported the theft said the suspect matched Dorner’s description.

The U.S. Forest Service confirms there was an exchange of gunfire between officers on foot and the suspect, in the Santa Ana River drainage, north of State Highway 38 and south of Big Bear Valley. At least one officer of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was involved, said John Miller, San Bernardino National Forest spokesman. That officer is not believed to be injured.

Hundreds of cops had searched for him on the mountain in the last few days. Where was he hiding?

Update: At long last, civilization mercifully comes to an end:

Update: One of the cops shot by Dorner has reportedly died. Meanwhile, here’s what MSNBC is talking about.

Having spent and/or wasted parts of my youth in the 70s I came in contact with police on occassion and in one instance a lie being told by one almost put me in for 180 days.. Thankfully the judge saw through it.. My point is, it would be very easy for me to hate police but years later a friend died of a brain tumor and while at his funeral spoke with his brother who was/ is a cop in Seal Beach, about abuses etc..

He never tried to condone or make excuses but simply said, go look in a mirror because we are a mirror of society. We have our racists, drunks, wife beaters and all around louses just like the rest of society, but we are YOU..

So Armin, and everyone else what you see happening here is merely a reflection of our police forces. Some ugly things said, misguided beliefs but a reflection..

Since that conversation I’ve never pigeon holed police in general either way..

As to Dorner.. hope it ends soon before another father/ mother loses a son/ daughter, sister, brother etc

really? She was commenting today.
In Armin’s case, there was a headline thread where the story was about some muzzie who warned Americans to watch out/beware of the ‘Jewish -controlled’ media. Armin’s comment was something along the lines of ‘good advice’ or ‘wise man’. He should have been gone after that.

Yea, ya have to live here to get that one. California has the Death Penalty, Californian’s designated facility for execution is San Quentin’s Gas Chamber. The California Court system is currently fighting over the exact procedure that is legally applicable. There is a temporary moratorium that is expected to be resolved sometime early this year.

Any chance the idiot started the fire himself?

Cindy Munford on February 12, 2013 at 8:00 PM

I give it 80-90 percent chance. Sun low, start a fire for distraction and make a break, or go down in a big shoot out.

If he waited until dark, the cops would have the advantage.

No. He wasn’t a crack addict, and was the wrong…political ideology…a Patriot.

kingsjester on February 12, 2013 at 8:07 PM

Lots of revisionist history thinking the government started the Branch Dividian fire.

Electrongod on February 12, 2013 at 8:08 PM

CNN has a short video clip of an LAPD Super Hornet doing a flyby and dropping a napalm canister straight down the fireplace flue; amazing shot actually.

Bishop on February 12, 2013 at 8:03 PM

Classic! Thanks Bishop for a bit of sanity.

The guy was suppose to have been an intelligence officer in the service, I’ll wait for proof before I believe they got him.

Cindy Munford on February 12, 2013 at 8:08 PM

Haven’t heard from Armin for about 20 minutes. I think ignoring him kills him.

*Btw: Burn Dorner Burn!*

annoyinglittletwerp on February 12, 2013 at 8:09 PM

Not the sharpest knife in your kitchen are ya. The police shooting innocent newspaper delivery women and early morning surfers who were driving vehicles that almost nearly came close to matching the make and model that Dorner owned.

SWalker on February 12, 2013 at 8:06 PM

I know I hurt your feelings but you’d rather convict the police and go on pure conjecture rather than the facts. Hmmm I would have thought that was something you did not like to see from people …well if you were consistent. You’re as bad as the those police you don’t like.

At least when Obama is saying Republicans are evil, people won’t be attention. SOTU is not front page material today.
