Video: Dr. Benjamin Carson’s speech at the National Prayer Breakfast

posted at 8:01 pm on February 8, 2013 by Allahpundit

We’re a day late to it but here it is, by popular demand, for your evening enjoyment. The Blaze says the response they’ve gotten to the vid is among the most enthusiastic for any clip in the history of the site. The Wall Street Journal, upon viewing it, declared “Ben Carson for president.” He’ll be on Hannity’s show tonight to elaborate on the themes, but if you’re unfamiliar with the man, you can get a taste of his many accomplishments here. I wonder why a guy who can light up an audience like this hasn’t considered political office. Could be that he’s too busy saving kids from debilitating brain disorders.

If you’re pressed for time and only want to watch Obama squirm, skip to around 17:00 as Carson tackles fiscal responsibility and death panels. Not pictured here: Barack Obama extolling the virtues of humility in leadership. Really.

The sad part of him running, he wouldn’t be available for his ‘Gifted Hands’ to help people!

Which is exactly why we need to put our politicians back to being part-time, so that awesome people like Dr. Carson can contribute to leading the country but not give up the real good work they do.

the entire city of DC is filled with people that could never understand this speech.

Correct. It’s not an issue of politics anymore, but one of pathology.

The value and power of personal dreams is just lost on so many in powerful political positions. A whole world they’re blind to. I was touched by his message, his story, his intelligence, his insight, his analysis of the challenges of life in the U.S. today.

He comes across as utterly colorblind in his attitude towards people. One more missing “hook” that is lost to the identity-politics Left. The Left is clueless to his message. He could just as well be speaking Chinese.

There is a SINGLE word in the english language that is appropriate for what Dr. Carson says at the 21:30 Mark – and that word IS:

“FACE!!”

My take.

He said on Fox & Friends this morning that he’s retiring from surgery this summer and, though he doesn’t have any natural inclination toward going into elected office, he will go where the Lord directs him.

Senator Carlson?

I sincerely pray for the man. Right now the liberal attack goons are busy at their keyboards hunting for something, anything to attack him with.

Good God! Obama can’t hold a candle to Dr. Carson… he looked upon him with utter contempt many times during his speech. Why oh why couldn’t we have had someone like him as the first black president? What an exemplar!! A guy who “gets it”… from the ground up.

And he’s absolutely right.. we need more scientists, doctors, engineers, and other skilled professionals to displace the rotten career politicians that have infested Washington for decades. If the whole process wasn’t so personally intrusive and riven with corruption and graft, I’d consider public office later in my career.

Does anyone else out there think the same way?
