Then they too will complain once again when the GOP betrays everyone…and then they will continue to tell you all you must support the GOP…

We need somebody who will hit POTUS hard in the gut and the kidneys where it hurts. That person needs to focus on this man, his derelictions, and I don’t think Rubio is the best choice for this. That person must be able to stick an accusing finger in his eye and make it stick.

I know what you’re saying, Red Creek. When Palin accepted the vice presidency from McCain and spoke at the 2008 Republican National Convention, she focused like a laser beam on the derelictions of Obama and the Democrats. She made it personal. That speech, with its red meat and many later-quotable zingers, was terrific and was manna from heaven to those of us who had been listening to a lot of McConnell-Pawlenty-Bush-RINO blah blah blah, vague and incoherent and gutless.

We need a leader like that who will speak for us–we conservatives, that is. It’s sad that we don’t really have one these days, and our lack of leadership has led to our current demoralization, I think.

Rubio won’t launch this sort of negative attack. He’s no pitbull. Even when he ran his race in Florida he kept his campaign positive. He will speak clearly, though, without mumbling and making excuses.

Who do you think would be good instead, Red Creek?

This is an opportunity that shouldn’t be wasted on a select few. All of Barry’s fan base will be tuned in, and a chance to put out a message without the filter of the MSM will be available. I like Rubio and think he’s an excellent choice. I also like that he will be delivering his speech in Spanish as well. Spanish speakers are becoming an ever increasing and important part of this nation and it is stupid politics to not recognize them and appeal to them.

Rubio is not as stupid or weak as W.

More importantly, though, Rubio believes in free enterprise whereas W believed in Big Government Conservatism. We need to pick our battles at this point, and the most important battle at this point is the one having to do with free enterprise vs. gimme-some-more-free-stuff Big Government. Rubio’s smart enough to understand the importance of competition and freedom and he can play an important role articulating what he knows and improving the Republican brand.

I don’t see anyone else out there who can do the job. Palin is out of the picture. Christie is disgusting. Rand lacks experience and charisma at this point.

But Rubio’s message is about limited government and free market capitalism. Do you object to it being spoken in both English and Spanish? If he were fluent in French, Italian, German and Swahili I would love for him to say in those languages as well!
