In any rational sphere of time and space, the EPA would have lost its authority <strike>to mandate private businesses to comply with their fanciful notions</strike>

FIFY, Erika.

That it took a court order to force the EPA to back down from mandating the use of an essentially non-existant product, tells you all you need to know about the EPA.

That the EPA has now doubled down on this act of stupidity tells you <strike>way more than you need to know</strike> they really don't care.

These fuels are helping put the owner-operator truck driver out of business.
These fuels, and diesel fuels have been suffering for a while now bcs they got rid of the sulfur that was NECESSARY to keep the water out of it. So now it grows algae & costs us a lot of money in fuels filter costs, etc.

Modern engines cannot handle all of this nonsense.
I'm watching engines that were lasting for a million miles now lasting for not even 1/4 of that before they need expensive overhauls or repairs.

If you're a huge trucking company, you buy brand new stuff all the time & your rates go sky high, which is one reason why all goods are sky high & rising.

The little guy does not have the wherewithall or the cash flow to deal with this.

Tricky Dick richly deserved his ugly treatment by historians on both sides. I could easily forgive him for the Watergate coverup if the standard for such things -- as it seems to be these days -- is to forgive flagrant violations of federal law and international sovereignty, as has clearly been done in the media with Fast and Furious. (Heck, that little Watergate burglary was probably a misdemeanor in D.C. at the time.) But I was glad to see him go in shame for exactly one reason that I can spell with just three letters: EPA. If there is justice, Hell won't even have him.

The EPA wants some of the energy used to power vehicles to come from cellulose. Well guess what distilling ethanol requires a lot of energy, roughly half what burning the ethanol eventually yields. Since you can't make cellulosic ethanol just burn the cellulose to provide the heat to distill the ethanol. Now some of the energy used to power vehicles comes from cellulose, its just a step removed from the tank, problem solved.

Of course this idea ignores the fact that biofuels do little or nothing to improve the environment which is allegedly the purpose of the EPA.
