Rush is short-sighted. As soon as they achieve amnesty, the supreme court won’t find that 25 year voting/citizen wait unconstitutional. I never realized how naive he could be.

What an opportunity to wake up the black community that they are about to be replaced as weapon #1 for the left. But, alas, there are no principled trustworthy leaders anymore.

What the senator did was give a very reasoned and precise accounting of the agreement principles. He most notably said that enforcement would need to occur first and that no federal benefits would be conferred to anyone in this status. He also stated the goal was to prevent a re-occurrence of this issue.

Senator Rubio also stated is he is willing to have a conversation and attempt to negotiate an agreement on immigration and the final product would determine his vote.

That’s frankly what Mr. Rubio was elected to do- to address the problems and the de facto amnesty these illegal immigrants currently enjoy.

Bravo. Let’s have that conversation, make our case and abide by principle in order to make a final determination.

We all know that there is no carefully written law, that can restrain the ill will of democrats who won’t enforce them. Rubio really knows that, but he has to say what he is for at this point in the game.

He is strong enough to take them on. I don’t think this bill gets passed, I think like with every other bill we try to pass, the devil will be in the details and derail it. Marco has to be out front as pro immigrant, because the other side is looking to RUIN him ahead of time.

When the Obama Administration enforces the laws that are now on the books, instead of skirting them with presidential directives, I mean, when hell freezes over, then we can go over the check list and see if it is time to fix some of the “broken” parts of our immigration law.

I would suggest that the republican House send some individual bills to the Senate, to see how they react.

Single issue bills. Border security. Deportation of criminals…they have to take their family back with them. Background checks and fingerprinting to keep Visa entrants from changing identities. A database that really works to PROTECT employers from being exploited by sneaky illegals.

Single issue legislation, and then see if Obama will enforce it.

No amendments, no pork, no waivers, no get out of jail free passes, and no question that the Administration has to prioritize funding for these efforts; And clear up the problem ICE is having enforcing the LAWS that are on the books.

I am with Rubio, if he wants a frontal assault on each thing the Administration is doing wrong. Someone will have to pay to get our side out in the airwaves, the MSM is made up of Clinton administration hacks.

Here is where this entire Rubio-Plan/Obama-Plan nonsense should be alarming to reasonably abled-thinking people:

*IF* (so we’re continually told, by Rubio, by Obama, by McCain, etc.) that “11 million people are here, we can’t do anything about that, they’re not leaving, so we have to figure out how to…”

*THEN* their vows and promises to “enforce the law” and/or “secure the border” as to “enforcement” proclamations ARE ILLOGICAL, IRRATIONAL, RIDICULOUS.

*BECAUSE* here these amnesty-types all proclaim some sort of helplessness or ineffectiveness AT ENFORCING THE LAW (“11 million here, we can’t do anything, they’re not leaving, oh, woe…”) BUT THEN THEY CLAIM THEY’LL SOMEHOW ENGAGE IN “ENFORCEMENT” AND “SECURITY” **if** we allow them to pass some variation of another amnesty.

It’s nonsensical.

First they press on about some impossibility of enforcement and border security, then they claim they’re selling us enforcement and border security CONTINGENT UPON (or, rather, “if we agree to pass amnesty, etc.”) them granting (amnesty, DREAM acts, whatever variation).

So where and how and when, specifically, is this *magic bean* (or, snake oil) D.C.politicos and other activists claim *will happen* going to happen?

If they’re helpless, unable, incompetent or otherwise discouraged about ever engaging in “enforcement” and “security” and “securing the border”,

…then howinheck are they ever going to engage in “comprehensive reform” BASED UPON SECURING THE BORDER and, otherwise, “enforcement”?

The “worst” Republican showings among Latinos haven’t differed much. Bob Dole got 23% of the two-party vote in 1996, which is the same as Mitt Romney in 2012. This narrow band of difference tends to follow the voting patterns of African Americans and American Jews (staple demographic groups in the American electorate) in the past 30 years. We also haven’t seen much movement among these groups – even with extensive voter outreach.

A full 58% said they didn’t know or it would have no effect, while 11% said it would actually make them less likely to vote Republican.

So 31% say they might consider voting for the GOP if they caved on immigration and historically they haven’t done so.

Well, they have to get the aura of inevitability going. Just as in the case of Romney: “Look, he’s the ONLY serious candidate and the ONLY chance we have…” They’re doing it earlier now to prevent some “undesirables” from gaining traction. It was all very, very predictable. And as (I think) unseen astutely observed in another thread, the GOP will cave repeatedly in order to avoid a resurgence of the Tea Party or something similar.

I’ll tell you what: if Palin or Walker or whoever doesn’t run, I hope she and others are instrumental in blowing up the GOP so something halfway useful might emerge. I’d rather move to some other country than exist in some one-party state.

My opinion is that nothing be done until they secure the border!!
