Report: Palin parts ways with Fox News
posted at 6:51 pm on January 25, 2013 by Allahpundit
Her choice, not theirs, according to a source who spoke to RCP.
After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nation’s highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.
“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”
The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.
Not surprising given what happened last year at the convention, although the Times claims she and Fox were negotiating a new contract as recently as last week. Maybe she has another offer on the table that’s sweeter than theirs?
My first thought when I read the RCP piece was that Mark Begich is up for reelection next year and is already preparing for a strong conservative challenge, but NRO’s Robert Costa tweets some skepticism:
About Sarah Palin leaving Fox News: After spending day talking w/ Alaskans, I doubt she’s running for anything. Hear she lives mostly in AZ
— Robert Costa (@robertcostaNRO) January 25, 2013
I thought challenging Begich, a weak blue incumbent in a very red state, was her best bet back to political office, but maybe she’s transitioned to Arizona now. (Costa hears that she’s still occasionally in touch with Joe Miller, who appears to be planning to challenge Begich himself.) If not politics, then what? Hard to believe she’d trade Fox for CNN. Maybe … Glenn Beck’s network, The Blaze? It had 300,000 online subscribers as of last summer and must have many more now, especially since Dish Network started airing it in September. And Beck’s aggressively trying to promote it, from making a bid on Current TV to gain a platform on basic cable to opening foreign bureaus in hopes of becoming a sort of libertarian alternative to Fox. She’d instantly raise the network’s profile and bring in new viewers. And there’s plenty of room on the programming schedule for her: The channel currently airs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour block free from 2-4 so they could give her her own show if that’s what she has in mind. If I had to bet, I’d bet that’s where she goes.

Wow! That is an amazing Bishop/Steebo for page 36. I saw that Schad asked you to do something with that pic and wow, you did it!
Back to my coffee and upstairs reading… I’m defending a poor man named Pickle on the Crowder self-righteous marriage post. My heart just goes out to him. Something about a Papa Grizzly defending his cubs when the Mama G isn’t up for the job that just pulls at my heartstrings. I know he’s trashing marriage but when someone is hurt, that’s what they do. They lash out. Hubby always said that I was an empath, I feel others’ pain almost as my own. It something I have little control over. My mom was the same way.
Hi Scrumpy! I also have a bit of the ADD, lol.

I think a Religion is defined by what they believe and how they exercise that belief, regardless the “name” of it. Actions define what a Religion or an Individual believes.
“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit” “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matt. 7:18 & 20.

I read that Breitbart article that you linked to:
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/08/03/Obama-administration-paves-the-way-for-sharia-law
Arrogrant ____ can’t say what I would like to say to describe that Aziz and others like him. Such a shame we have nothing but appeasers in the Republican Congress! The very few we have that are speaking out just don’t have the power to do anything. I’m always reminded of “if you’re not with me you are against me” when I think of those that do have the power to do something and do NOTHING!!
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 2:04 PM
The media are the same as far as I can see. They don’t expose anything unless it’s an opponent of those they support. However, they don’t need to think they will be spared by siding with those that are destroying this Country. They will be under the bus with the rest of them just like Woodward just as soon as they are not useful anymore.
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 2:10 PM
Odd that you would say that. I’m much the same way and have to be careful because I experience situations/pain just as if I’m going thru it. The positive side of this gift? is that my prayers are more than just words. I pray for the person in the way I would want someone to pray for me if I was experiencing what they are.
Does that make sense? I’ve never thot about it too much or tried to put this in words until I read what you said.
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 2:18 PM
Oh, my Bmore!!! You have outdone yourself with that.

I’ll admit I didn’t read that article again, but just the question.
No, I don’t think she will run for any office other than the Presidency. She would not give up her freedom. That I think is one of the reasons she didn’t renew her contract with Fox; too limited.
She said you don’t need a title to be effective or something to that effect. That’s my opinion anyhoo:-)
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 2:40 PM
Yup, I understand. When I was young, I once said something to someone like, you know how you can feel a stranger when they walk by? Sometimes, it’s in the form of heat (like a force field), sometimes it’s an emotion like happiness or sadness? And, I got that blank stare. No? Not everyone is like this? LOL
When I worked retail in high school and college, lots of hand to hand contact exchanging money, I would try to understand why I “felt” some people and not others. I couldn’t figure it out but I always wondered if they felt something, too, or if I was supposed to say something to them. I never did.
I do feel that putting my hands on someone (I think it’s the warmth, the heat I feel) when I pray that makes a difference. I’m agnostic but I do pray over and for people in my own way.
(Oh, my dad used to say that my mom and I would have been burned as witches in the old days. We both have a way with animals and children, too. He said it in a loving, teasing and funny way but I got it that we were a bit off.)
God, It (and I) sound weird when I write it out, lol. I’m gonna guess we aren’t the only empaths here. What I felt during the media, Democrat and GOPe attacks on Sarah Palin was almost unbearable. I felt it to my core, a truly good person being endlessly and shamelessly attacked with wicked intent.
Fallon on March 4, 2013 at 2:48 PM
I don’t think so either. I came upon the article again and I just threw it out there.

This is an interesting program I heard on 3/2/13 from a Christian Pastor/Teacher. He passed away in 1988, so keep that in mind. He had the foresight to tape his 5 year Bible program and other weekend programs prior to passing away.
He was speaking on Morality and the fact that we as a Country have no moral Standards; i.e. drugs/alcohol/lottery & sexual sins. Said without moral laws, man does what is natural. Then he said Where is the Church today, speaking out against this immorality?
A Revival could save us, A balanced budget won’t save us
The above were my notes that I took while listening. If you want to listen to the actual program, it’s here. I think this is the first on the tape and is about 5 min or so. Just hit play after the site opens.

I’ve not experience the same as you, but similar. I’m very sensitive to bad people, whether male or female and know almost right away whether I can trust a person or not. My husband used to say I was paranoid, LOL However my opinions always proved to be true. The more evil a person, the stronger the vibes. Thankfully, I’ve only experienced that a few times. *shudder* just remembering.
Laying on of hands is a Biblical teaching. Some Churches still do that, but many don’t and it seems to be they don’t really believe the Scriptures that it pertains to. The Churches that do, are more Spiritual and teach and preach from the Bible rather than the modern precepts.
Your Dad probably thot it strange and maybe he didn’t experience it:-)
There was a thread on HA that a person was expressing such hurt and persecution and had tried to end his life over it. I was in tears trying to console them and give them hope, that I almost couldn’t type.
Much better to be able to empathize with people than not.I do think it’s a gift and for a reason. For protection and to be helpful.
I always get agnostic and atheist mixed up:-)
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 3:23 PM
I’ll pop up on that thread you mentioned. I haven’t been upstairs yet today, just here. I have a very complicated Fed & State Tax return to work on and have been doing that this morning. Plus other necessary chores:-)

@ Fallon,
Back to my coffee and upstairs reading… I’m defending a poor man named Pickle on the Crowder self-righteous marriage post. My heart just goes out to him. Something about a Papa Grizzly defending his cubs when the Mama G isn’t up for the job that just pulls at my heartstrings. I know he’s trashing marriage but when someone is hurt, that’s what they do
Which HA thread were you talking about? I didn’t see anything, LOL
bluefox on March 4, 2013 at 4:12 PM
It’s been shelved into the archives of the Green Room. It was a silly little article by Crowder saying that men shouldn’t badmouth their wives to other men. The comments became a bit heated between pro-marriage and anti-marriage/bad marriage advocates.
I think Pickle just needed to vent.

Some good news for Florida. Mark Levin said that Gov. Scott just suffered a defeat on his Expansion of Medicaid. It didn’t even come out of the Committee. The Republican Legislators voted NO!!
WOW, Levin said he is so proud of them!! I am too. Finally a little sunshine in this darkness.
Are you listening Jeb Bush? Rubio?

Jeb needs to stay home and shut up.
America doesn’t need any more bush league presidents.
Rubio needs to stay in the Senate and learn something.

I am somewhat of an OCD type, not to any extreme, but I do have to do things a certain way and place things a certain way.
I alphabetize everything!
When I clean, my things have to go back in the exact same place.
My clothes are colour coordinated and my hangers are 2 finger widths apart…
I am a little obsessive with cleaning…
I am also a germophobe, but because of my illnesses, I have to be.
My cat sheds and it drives me potty! But I wouldn’t be without him now…

Good night all, and hey, Good morning!!
Scrumpy on March 5, 2013 at 2:35 AM
Evenin’ All. It’s close to midnight here and I think most Gulchers are asleep :) Sweet dreams. . .
After virtually every one of your posts I want to respond – to commiserate or praise you. I wish we could speak in person. Often I am overwhelmed by the sheer lunacy of what we face with our lack of leadership, and the fact that Evil/the Dark Side/Islam is currently in vogue and appears to be ‘winning’. I know the outcome will be the converse but the days ahead will be daunting.
I, too, am an empath. Children, animals, those in need seem to find me. I felt it was a burden until I learned that all that I have dealt with in life has been designed to teach me love lessons – for compassion must be soul-felt. Even strangers stop me. . . Now, I am honored when they do. I no longer feel put upon and I do try in some small way to help. However, their pain is very real and cuts my heart to the quick. Fallon, I was an agnostic for 20 years and experienced the same then, too.
It is no accident that we are gathered here – there are assuredly many more reasons than I am able to discern. Again, that is why I was so very pleased to find you and so ‘ferocious’ about trying to protect this Gulch – and all of you.
I gain strength and joy from your wisdom, your intellect, your humor and the gifts you bring daily. Thank you.
I have had a few precognitive dreams – and a few of what I will call ‘nudges’ from the Divine about what we will face. It is not going to be easy at all.
However, All will be very, very fine in due time. We are meant to support each other and I am very grateful you’re here. Thank you God of Light and Love! Please protect and sustain us.
Sending love.

This isn’t meant to be funny, but I kinda knew you were already. You (and Bmore, he is a complicated and gifted man) were who I was mainly thinking of when I said there were others here.
Now, Scrumpy sounds like my oldest daugher. A place for everything and everything in its place. Love that about her. I am a messy perfectionist, just give me a minute, I’ll find it, lol.
Off to get grandbaby. We’re supposed to get 10+ inches of snow today. It’s just a dusting right now but is supposed to pick up in a few hours. I love snow, just as long as everyone gets home safely.

Fallon on March 5, 2013 at 8:31 AM
I think I listened to more of what Mark had to say. Bujebbers as he is known (missed where that came from:-) is trying Romney’s tactic to be “severly” Conservative? Hard to tell, there aren’t many that I trust at all. I still think it’s going to be Jeb/Rubio unless the RNC/Establishment Republicans change their mind.

Your words are an encouragement too OP:-) Like Scrumpy said, it’s homey.

Uh oh. From C4P
President George W. Bush’s former chief strategist Matthew Dowd is slamming the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for snubbing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) while inviting former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), who he asserts “wasn’t competent enough to keep a Fox News contract.”
Wall Street Journal editor Paul Gigot on Sunday told an ABC News panel that CPAC had made a mistake by not inviting Christie …
(Then Dowd agreed with Gigot by saying:
“CPAC, to me, has totally diminished its credibility as an organization,” Dowd agreed. “And you invite Sarah Palin, who wasn’t competent enough to keep a Fox News contract? But she’s invited to CPAC meeting?”
Ohhhh, the hate and the jealousy just spewing out their mouths for their left wing Christie, LOL
Time for one of my favorite C4P comments:
Gorgeous, gracious gifted Gov. Sarah Palin was, is, and ever shall be the populist princess & conservative queen of American politics. Deal with it, liberals.

I just wish they’d take a huge misstep and crash down HARD!
Just want to share a few quotes with you guys and gals!
Our patience will achieve more than our force.
- Edmund Burke
He that can have patience can have what he will.
- Benjamin Franklin
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
- John Quincy Adams
Never think that God’s delays are God’s denials. Hold on; hold fast; hold out. Patience is genius.
- George-Louis Leclerc de Buffon
Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments; but let us have patience and we soon shall see them in their proper figures.
- Joseph Addison
Patience serves as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against cold. For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases, it will have no power to hurt you. So in like manner you must grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs, and they will be powerless to vex your mind.
- Leonardo da Vinci
And last but not least:
For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

Scrumpy, if there is anything at all we can do re your illnesses please say the word. Prayers already sent and will continue. Thanks to you and bluefox for scriptural support. I am highly spiritual but not a church goer, so I welcome the references.
* Speaking of making lemonade out of lemons, how are you all handling the increasingly oppressive darkness: Fed’s purchase of 1.6 billion hollowpoints, 2700 tanks, drones refitted for domestic surveillance and spotted over NYC today, TSA to allow switchblades and golf clubs on planes, WH shut down (on Drudge right now), kazillions in aid to our enemies, every effort to bankrupt us/destroy us proceeding apace, the idiocy of ‘our side’ in too many ways to count, etc., ad nauseum?

Hope your dinner out was a nice change of pace!!
Snow ice cream sounds great. Someone used strawberry preserves too. Good idea. Our snow hasn’t started yet, looks like rain coming from the South first and then the snow.
The news is bad, but it is being leaked for a reason perhaps. To make people afraid and upset. The way I handle it is I listen to it, but don’t allow it to upset me or govern me. Remember when Y2K was going on? The only thing I did was buy a cheap hand can opener in case I lost my electric so I could open cans:-) What could I do or gain by worrying about it? Nothing. That’s how I react to today’s bad news.
A nice fire, a cup of tea or your favorite beverage and a good book sounds lovely. That’s what I would do:-) I can do all of that but no fireplace here, boo hoo:-)
bluefox on March 5, 2013 at 10:30 PM
Nice quotes about patience. I found a number of years back is that it is something to be learned.
Those Scriptures are some of my favorites too.
During these unstable times, one that often comes to my mind is:
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee” Psalms 56:3
I wasn’t aware that you were having some illnes and I don’t want to pry at all. But OP said she was in prayer for you, so be assured I will be also. I have a long prayer list that I’ve added to over the years. A dear Christian friend of mine told me that when she went to bed at night, she would say prayers and she had everyone in alphabetical order. She went home to be with the Lord a few months ago. Such a dear she was and I counted her as my prayer partner.
So Bless you Scrumpy and praying for healing and that all your needs are met.
And you too OP that you continue to receive more healing and strength day by day.

Mark Levin explains how the Republican leadership is ramming through a Continuing Resolution that funds the government for 6 months and it includes funding for Obamacare. The House rules committee has also voted to not allow for any amendments on the CR.
No wonder Levin was furious. I am too. It seems there was a letter that 30 Republicans signed opposing this, but haven’t found it so far.

I had no idea scrumpy was cider. That’s neat.
I read about those 30 Rs wanting to defund Obamacare. The leadership’s actions are infuriating.

List of signatories here:
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/05/30-Republicans-ask-Boehner-Cantor-to-defund-Obamacare
I went back to the Brietbart linked to in that one, and here’s the letter:

Breitbart quoted Rep. Jim Bridenstine, Oklahoma. This is from his site:

“Congressman Jim Bridenstine discusses the defunding of Obamacare in the House of Representatives Rules Committee on March 5th, 2013.”

Thanks a bunch INC. Here is a great list I picked up from the commenter PVG at Rightscoop.
http://www.nagc.org/uploadedFiles/Advocacy/Congressional%20Directory%20%28113%29.pdf
Reminds me of the many lists several of us made when working against Obamacare.
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 1:29 AM
Looks as if Rush is saying that all those in the Quotes part of the post, not us commenters, were the ones who missed it.
I don’t remember who was quoted, but the gang of usual suspects who are quoted frequently miss the barn door by a mile.
INC on March 6, 2013 at 1:32 AM
Thanks for that! I’ll hang on to it.
INC on March 6, 2013 at 1:33 AM
They were going to vote on Thursday, but scheduled it for a day earlier (tomorrow) so the voters wouldn’t have a chance to contact their Reps. They are not only worthless, but are working hand in hand with Obama.
Some of the commenters on Rightscoop said some Reps have their D.C. phones off and others suggested to contact their District offices.
This is exactly what I did during the Obamacare fight, LOL I wonder if some on Rightscoop are ones I worked with? Never know:-)
Well, even tho I’m in the midst of heavy tax work, I’m going to at least call/fax or email my Reps in OH. That may be the most I can do with such short notice.
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 1:34 AM
Y.W. I’m keeping it too. I remember how hard it was to make those lists.
Well, I better hit the sack if I want to get up early & make those calls.
Have a goodnight to any nightowls that are still up:-)
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 1:37 AM
That’s really dirty dealing.
I’ve called district offices before.

Goodnight!
Maybe the D.C. Snowquester storm will slow them down.

And, good morning! Shoveled the drive out again after the snow plows plowed in the garbage cans last night. Small problem when looking at the state of things in the country and the world…
So, Jeb’s starting to grease the wheel. That oughta really stick a big fork in that cute little elephant.
Arrrgh! There. I feel better. So much interesting reading here. The Limbaugh link was really good.
My Congress Critter, who pretends to be Tea Party, is not on that list of 30 patriots. I do believe he has a deal with Boehner to vote certain ways depending on the inevitability of the vote. He’s cut from the same cloth as Boehner and the gang. He’s even orange. Grrr…
Fallon on March 6, 2013 at 9:03 AM
I’m not as eloquent in matters like this, so, what bluefox said goes for me. too. Positive thoughts and prayers to you both.

My organic farmer sister dropped off a Rugosa squash at the bday party this past weekend. This thing is shaped like and as big as a school bus, it puts that poor little elephant to shame…

Congrats gilled one. You have officially become a HA troll. You will be treated as such.

Thank you. Del was on QOTD last night asking about Rush’s comments. I skimmed this, but to tell the truth was a wee bit warn out and didn’t do a thorough job, ; )

Just a quick update or two before I go back to Taxes.
We only received about 2+ inches of snow.
So have the Republican U.S. House Reps betrayed us again? I’m sure the vote already has been taken on the C.R.
I’ve changed my mind about calling my U.S. Reps. They had their chance to sign that letter to defund Obamacare and chose not to. They won’t change their mind now. I’ll call them after the vote and compose a letter to either email them or fax.
Who speaks for us?
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 10:56 AM
Too bad there aren’t young guys coming around to shovel. That’s a job!!
I know what you mean on the Reps that are MIA!! We didn’t have ANY!! I’m so angry at them. I want to see the vote, maybe they will vote against the C.R.? I know, wishful thinking.
Glad you opened the window here!! Are we out of troll spray? LOL
Have a great day!!
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 11:05 AM
Oh, please. As if you ever treated me well. How can my treatment get any worse??haha
bluegill on March 6, 2013 at 11:25 AM
It’s what is in the heart, Fallon and we know you have a good heart. A good thought and well wishes for someone is the same as those put into words. You are appreciated here so don’t sell yourself short!!!
That squash sounds good. I knew a lady that used that when she made spaghetti. She had twin boys and they loved it:-)
Hope it’s done snowing in your area!! Our local weather man said, storm is over, hi of 37 today, LOL
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 11:26 AM
Same here. I was concentrating on the House C.R. and gathering info. Time flies when you’re having fun!!

Why are the Dems against the C.R. in the House? I’m confused.

Fallon and bluefox – thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers re health issues. Fallon, you are quite eloquent and often speak directly to my heart!
Thanks too, for your well wishes re my dinner out. It was a much appreciated, wonderful respite from the challenges of cooking. Plus, I have all of these great leftovers from Texas Roadhouse. . . yum! An elderly man in our group told me he sees progress (in my walking) every time we meet. It sometimes feels imperceptible to me so an observation like that sends my spirits soaring.
I loved your advice re handling oppressive news, blue, and you can always cozy up to our fire in the hearth! I wish I had the ability to distance myself from my own emotions at times. That empath thing gets me down as I grieve – literally – for our losses and the suffering of so many. But I always somehow find new light and hope in short order. No matter what happens, I am a survivor and bounce back with renewed strength. Regarding Psalms 56:3, I learned on my own some time ago that many – if not All – difficulties can be faced by simply deciding to choose faith over fear. I need to remember that.
I hope you get through the tax crappo soon!
I’m also glad you escaped a huge snowfall – is that true for you, Fallon, as well?
Today I woke up to snowrain. I kinda like that blend, particularly when it doesn’t stick and there’s no shoveling involved. I’ve only had to shovel twice this year as we’ve had a nice mild, Idaho winter! Much better than the four (in 20) years here I’ve experienced sustained snow of six feet plus! I cannot wait to hear the first Canadian geese returning. Even more than the crocuses, that’s when I know Spring is very close!

God Bless Rand Paul. He is on the Senate Floor filibusterng against that Brennan nomination. He’s been speaking non stop for two hours or more.
Hope some other Senator can take over when he gets tired. I don’t see him using a Teleprompter either. Great points being made!!
Got to go, be back later!
bluefox on March 6, 2013 at 1:26 PM
Oh, I hear the Dems are against the C.R. in the House??? What?
I can’t believe Boehner didn’t write the C.R. just for them, LOL
Don’t have time to inquire further tho.
