Report: Palin parts ways with Fox News
posted at 6:51 pm on January 25, 2013 by Allahpundit
Her choice, not theirs, according to a source who spoke to RCP.
After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nation’s highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.
“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”
The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.
Not surprising given what happened last year at the convention, although the Times claims she and Fox were negotiating a new contract as recently as last week. Maybe she has another offer on the table that’s sweeter than theirs?
My first thought when I read the RCP piece was that Mark Begich is up for reelection next year and is already preparing for a strong conservative challenge, but NRO’s Robert Costa tweets some skepticism:
About Sarah Palin leaving Fox News: After spending day talking w/ Alaskans, I doubt she’s running for anything. Hear she lives mostly in AZ
— Robert Costa (@robertcostaNRO) January 25, 2013
I thought challenging Begich, a weak blue incumbent in a very red state, was her best bet back to political office, but maybe she’s transitioned to Arizona now. (Costa hears that she’s still occasionally in touch with Joe Miller, who appears to be planning to challenge Begich himself.) If not politics, then what? Hard to believe she’d trade Fox for CNN. Maybe … Glenn Beck’s network, The Blaze? It had 300,000 online subscribers as of last summer and must have many more now, especially since Dish Network started airing it in September. And Beck’s aggressively trying to promote it, from making a bid on Current TV to gain a platform on basic cable to opening foreign bureaus in hopes of becoming a sort of libertarian alternative to Fox. She’d instantly raise the network’s profile and bring in new viewers. And there’s plenty of room on the programming schedule for her: The channel currently airs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour block free from 2-4 so they could give her her own show if that’s what she has in mind. If I had to bet, I’d bet that’s where she goes.

Cool beans. Your friend got robbed, too, as I believe ‘she’ pointed out they praised someone else’s charred something or other :) They were aghast that she would dare to call them on it. lol
As to page 35 and well over 3k comments – hooray! – and on our anniversary no less.
Congrats to all our stalwart Gulchers who have begun yet another chapter.
Did I tell y’all I really like it down here (yes, I believe I did). . . far from most of the madding crowd. It’s kinda cozy, too.

I read her Facebook message. There is not too much she is not right on. In fact, I can’t think of any:-)

I’d guess that one of the election or debate threads probably holds the record.
Whatever the record is, we will break it.

IMO, he’s one of our very best. It doesn’t hurt that he’s also a true legal scholar and puts his money where his mouth is. I’d actually love to see him as Sarah’s V.P., assuming that possibility exists in our future. One can hope (still), eh?

I agree Levin is the best. I don’t know of anyone that can cover and explain the Constitution better than he. V.P. would be ok, but is there a better Cabinet position for him? I don’t really know, but would like to hear it discussed. Sarah for President for sure!!

“Break Stuff” comes to mind. A bit NSFW… Funny-ish story, years ago when oldest daughter was in high school, her volleyball team took turns picking the warm up music before matches. Of course, my daughter had this song in her mix. Oops. The coach was not amused but the crowd loved it.
Bmore you have a gift.

Completely off topic, but who cares eh?
Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory,
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved’s bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Bluegill, honey, don’t you think it’s time you stopped being so ridiculous and obsessive about Sarah Palin!
What has she ever done to you?
I would wager that you have never read her writings.
If you had, well, maybe you just cannot comprehend her, yeah, I think that is the problem with you, lack of comprehension.
Your rants against Sarah Palin are really tiresome and frankly quite silly.

That song was beautifully haunting. I was one of the lucky ones, I met Andrew Breitbart and spoke to him a number of times (Chicago, twice, St. Louis, Madison, Nashville…) He was a force of nature. He has left such a void in the world. His mother passed away a day or two ago, making this, if possible, an even sadder day.

Did anyone see that fried bluegill on Kitchen Nightmares last night? It was soggy with grease – basically inedible/intolerable and had to be thrown out.
Does this one know it’s laughed at every time it soils the Gulch?
I say we just fry the damn thing and be done with it.
Here fishy, fishy , fishy.
But even with the great chefs assembled here and no matter how it’s treated, it will remain inedible and intolerable. I’ve heard that trolls get paid by the number of responses they elicit; therefore, this will be my last.

Thanks for the cleanup, Fallon [although we're close to needing a fumigation team], and glad your granddaughter’s party was a success! An old soul, indeed. The younguns these days seem to be quite prescient!
Before I force myself to do some house cleaning (yuk), I want to rant :0 for a minute about social networking sites. Oh, I know they have their value, but they’re also insidious IMO.
Who was it, Bmore, who recently was investigating Twitter? It reminded me I thought I had an account – couldn’t remember. Today I went there and saw that I tweeted exactly one time in defense of Sarah Palin several years ago. It was in response to an idiotic Dave Weigel tweet. I learned today that Michelle Bachmann’s ‘team’ was thereafter ‘following’ me but there was nothing else to follow. lol
Within an hour I had an email message from Twitter welcoming me back and suggesting people I might want to follow – based on a single tweet. It’s kind of like Facebook, where I say something maybe once a year and get prodded back at least once a week to see all that I’m missing. LinkedIn hounds me, etc., etc.
I guess I’m old fashioned. I don’t text, tweet, talk on Facebook or appreciate their efforts to (further) entwine me in their webs, track my internet usage, buying habits, and otherwise interfere with my life.
I take ‘personal responsibility’ heh for signing up for these places in the first place. I could sign off. . . but I guess I’m curious about what they’ll pull next. Rant off. :))
Hope y’all have a lovely Sunday!

The insipid insidiousness of Islam snakes it’s way in and once it takes hold there is no getting rid of it.
Screw being politically correct.
Islam is a dark and devilish ‘faith’…
The sooner people wake up to it the better, especially our politicians.
One doesn’t have far to look to see what is happening where ever they settle and take over…

It’s kind of a double racism isn’t it!
