Report: Palin parts ways with Fox News

Her choice, not theirs, according to a source who spoke to RCP.
After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nation’s highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.
“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”
The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.
Not surprising given what happened last year at the convention, although the Times claims she and Fox were negotiating a new contract as recently as last week. Maybe she has another offer on the table that’s sweeter than theirs?
My first thought when I read the RCP piece was that Mark Begich is up for reelection next year and is already preparing for a strong conservative challenge, but NRO’s Robert Costa tweets some skepticism:

I thought challenging Begich, a weak blue incumbent in a very red state, was her best bet back to political office, but maybe she’s transitioned to Arizona now. (Costa hears that she’s still occasionally in touch with Joe Miller, who appears to be planning to challenge Begich himself.) If not politics, then what? Hard to believe she’d trade Fox for CNN. Maybe … Glenn Beck’s network, The Blaze? It had 300,000 online subscribers as of last summer and must have many more now, especially since Dish Network started airing it in September. And Beck’s aggressively trying to promote it, from making a bid on Current TV to gain a platform on basic cable to opening foreign bureaus in hopes of becoming a sort of libertarian alternative to Fox. She’d instantly raise the network’s profile and bring in new viewers. And there’s plenty of room on the programming schedule for her: The channel currently airs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour block free from 2-4 so they could give her her own show if that’s what she has in mind. If I had to bet, I’d bet that’s where she goes.

Good Lord, what in blazes is going on in here? I scrolled back a few pages and I saw people have been commenting on here continuously for weeks! I saw even saw bluegill a few pages back, more or less being bluegill.
Did anyone authorize you all to be here? I thought after 2 weeks you had to get a permit or something to reopen threads.
That’s it. I’m going to go back (forward really) to the present day QOTD, and I expect some answers.

Yeah, see, that’s why you’re supposed to get permission for this kind of thing, so that someone in a position of authority knows what’s going on. The fish is pretty harmless, but there are some real wackos out there. There have been a number of trolls over the last year or two that disappeared, and we all just assumed were banned, but AP and Ed never confirmed: 0bamaderangementsyndrom[sic], angryed, and God only knows who else.
Who knows which of them might be stalking the archives?

I wondered why you didn’t snap at renalin for his alienating antics. Now I know. You come here to cavort with renalin and company.
I see now that I must recommit myself to doing what I know is right. I will fight the Palin worship with more tenacity than ever now. And to think I actually felt some pangs of guilt.

As for renalin, renalin needed no advice from me because renalin, while not by any means friends with everyone, has at least not alienated the community at large – or if he has, he has made amends with enough people that he is not a pariah.

Funny thing, I never drank coffee at all until my 40′s. I still need to kill the taste with cream and sugar. Now tea (hot or cold), I like to drink that straight, nothing added. I know, I’m a bad*ss, lol.
It’s a very sad day in my neighborhood, a moving truck is parked outside. My amazingly fun and dear friend next door is leaving soon. A few years ago she asked me if I would take her to a Tea Party rally and became my travel buddy to various Tea Party events around the area. Besides being a kindred spirit, she was an excellent sign maker. Her signs were so funny. I will miss her dearly.

Little known fact: it turns out that I have quite a history with the gilled one after all.
The first time I went fishing was at Medford Lake, NJ, when I was four. We caught a lot of sunnies that day using – wait for it – bread balls! Turns out the gilled one is a member of that (sunfish) family.
I probably saved it’s life that day (!) as, after flopping around on the grass a bit, we just threw ‘em back.
I’m so sorry to all gathered here. I left the gate open.

Aren’t you all going to scream “conspiracy!” now that HotAir didn’t cover the ho-hum announcement that Palin is going to speak at CPAC this year?
My own thoughts on the news:
Booking Palin to speak is looking backwards. Her celebrity is on the decline, and most associate her with failure and incompetence as a candidate. She is a talented politician can still be of assistance to the conservative cause in some ways, but more so if she stays on the sidelines and doesn’t try to become the center of attention again. She needs to put aside her opportunist tendencies and quit acting like she is the center of the conservative political universe. We ought to be looking to the future and at the up-and-coming stars, not dwelling on past failures.

Had to let the place air out a bit. Mornin’… almost afternoon, Palin Peeps.
I made some weird cookies yesterday. I’m still not sure how I feel about them. One cup quick cooking oats, 2 mashed ripe bananas and 1/4 cup walnuts, that’s it (okay, I added a pinch of cinnamon and some choclolate chips but whatevs). I got the recipe from a cooking light type blog and since I had some ripe bananas, decided to try them. Son said they taste a little like banana bread. I don’t know. They seem like a poor attempt at an oatmeal cookie to me. I guess they’d do in a pinch but I would not make these for anyone I was trying to impress.

Just wanted to add, I’ve been doing Weight Watchers for about 9 months now and was looking for an easy low points treat. The oatmeal banana “cookies” were only 1 pp a piece. I’ll keep looking, lol.

Oh, I think that explains it. Martha Stewart may have something, not sure. A few years ago, I tried a low carb hi protein food plan.
Not for losing weight, but just a more healthy diet. It worked fine, but it wasn’t enough food for me. My metabolism works very well, LOL
