My understanding is with the three generation rule, if there are not three generations to imprison, the prisoners will be made to reproduce, so the camp can meet requirements of torturing three generations.

On a Christian program, I heard details from an escaped guard, who reported when Christian women gave birth, they were required to strangle their offspring. According to that report, when one woman was too weak to kill the infant, the doctors were made to strangle the infant and they did so crying. Asked if he felt guilt, the guard replied they were raised to believe the prisoners deserved the punishment, so there were no feelings

To the original tinfoil-hat guys, this is not a problem. After all, have you actually seen those satellites? How do you know those are pictures of North Korea, and not, say, Flagstaff? This proves nothing! If they hold a radical view of reality in their heads, things that contradict it are not necessarily proof of anything.

There is also “Camp 14: Total Control Zone” on Netflix streaming where Shin Dong-hyuk tells his story… or at least the parts he can tell. It is obvious when you see him on the screen, with his long pauses and thousand-yard stares past the camera when recalling his time in the camp, that there are many horrific memories he is unable to tell.

He is also the only person known to have been born in a North Korean prison camp and later escaped from it.

Prenatal and natal care still better than Planned Parenthood.

The United Nations is looking into launching an investigation into North Korea’s egregious record, and I suppose that every little bit helps

It was a present from a relative – “because you like politics.” If the relative knew the contents Grandpa wouldn’t have received this particular present.

I started to read it as bedtime reading and couldn’t handle it there. I read it a bit at a time during the day.

To engage in hyperbole, it almost makes One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich (which I read when I was young) and the Soviet Gulag look a vacation at the Black Sea in comparison.

Unfortunately nothing will be done ever, the UN is a worthless organization that should be booted from our soil immediately, and the camps inside NK are styled after Soviet Block camps, although they are tailored to NKs specific region, Camp 14s survivor is one account, but Korean war vets can give you a good account as well, brutal doesn’t even cover it!
