Thought for the day: Why does Prince Harry need to antagonize the Taliban?

A minor classic via Newsbusters. This is stupid, yes, but not for the reason it seems at first blush. I don’t think Jones is saying that NATO troops, who’ve spent more than 11 years killing the Taliban, should fret about hurting their feelings. I think she’s saying that Harry’s already enough of a target that it’s reckless to give terrorists any extra motivation to find him. It’s the same argument, essentially, as the White House gives for why it won’t release the Bin Laden death photos. Taunting the other team from the end zone arguably does more for their morale than for yours. (The Taliban’s actual reaction to Harry’s interview was surprising, less angry than smug.)
The real reason this is stupid is that there’s a painfully obvious answer to the question. Namely, that Harry talking about his experience in the British military killing jihadis is the best press the royal family has had in ages. Quote:
Asked before he left Afghanistan if he had killed insurgents during his tour, he said: “Yeah, so, lots of people have. … Yes, we fire when we have to, take a life to save a life, but essentially we’re more of a deterrent than anything else.
“If there’s people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we’ll take them out of the game, I suppose,” the second son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana said in one of several interviews released to the media…
Harry’s job as an Apache co-pilot was to man its weapons system when his 662 Squadron unit flew sorties in support of ground troops fighting Taliban or accompanying other helicopters on missions to evacuate casualties…
“Yes, you get shot at. But if the guys who are doing the same job as us are being shot at on the ground, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with us [Prince William and himself] being shot at as well. People back home will have issues with that, but we’re not special.”
Most royal “news” has to do with Kate Middleton’s hair or whatever. This guy flies Apaches under fire in Afghanistan and gives a winningly egalitarian explanation for why he’s willing to do it and somehow his comment comparing his duties to video games is proof that he’s “jumped the shark”? What?

Our resident Democrat Low-IQ Voter/Racial Profiler HAL is laughably ignorant not only on the origins of Racism, but also on the geographical distribution of “trailer parks” in the US. In HAL’s Low-IQ world of stereotyping, all “trailer parks” are in the Southern US, and all “trailer parks” are owned by Low-IQ, Low-income Southern conservative white people.
But in reality, the States with the highest concentration of trailer parks include the following Blue States:
1. Nevada
2. New Mexico
3. Delaware
There are also large concentrations of trailer parks in the Blue States of Virginia, Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington. In fact, in all 5 of those Blue States, there is the same relative level of concentration per state as there is in the actual South.
There are also plenty of luxury trailer parks in Blue States. In New Jersey, until it was heavily damaged last year by Sandy, the Paradise trailer park on (fittingly) Sandy Hook Bay was known for its million dollar ocean views that also include the distant Manhattan skyline to the north. And in Santa Cruz California there is also a luxury trailer park. Many of those “trailers” are also manufactured by Union members in factories in the Blue States of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, but Low-IQ Democrats are ignorant of those facts.
Another Leftist stereotype is that “trailers” are “cheap housing”; many these days can exceed $100,000 in cost. In New Jersey during Sandy, only the “trailer parks” directly on the coast were heavily damaged; the “trailer parks” inland fared quite well.
However, the Left do have one thing basically correct-the majority of owners of these homes are Low Income. But for those Leftists to racially profile these homeowners and call them all Southern White hayseeds is something only Hitler would be proud of.
Especially since in 2012 O’bama won 63% of the Low Income Vote.

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 60′s and 70′s. I didn’t know there was any racism until my family moved into majority white neighborhood. It was mostly white, with a few Asians. The white kids called me nigger like it was my last name.
By the time I got to Jr. high they started to show me some respect. They started calling me “The nigger”, and to think both my parents are biracial. By the time I got to high school it stopped but hey what can you do? No one was trying to set our house on fire or puncturing our tires or anything. They did play with me, and their parents were nice enough to me.

Then everyone and their brother (on the right) was suddenly a racist. Jon is just learning the main function of government. It is one thing—it is force. Force you to pay your taxes. Force you to get a license. Force you to have insurance. Penalize you when you fail to toe the line. The DOD, for pete’s sake, the most well-functioning arm of the government is good at the application of force.
