Just finished up with Virginia’s “Lobby Day”, an annual event where constiuents descend on the General Assembly building to speak to their Delegates and Senators.

Over one thousand “Guns Save Lives” stickers were handed out and it is estimated that about 750 gun owners were screened to enter the building with their firearms, both concealed and openly carried.

Joe Morrisey was running and hiding from our videographers.

Yea, I can still hear my DI (Navy) roasting us over the reflex to touch the trigger. Several of us got "Marching Party" (late evening extra PT) over forgetting that safety rule, but he got us in line fast. Our DI was one of the classic DI's of all time. He could chew you at full volume and without ever using a swear word or repeating himself, while impinging on you ancestry, sexual orientation, intelligence and where you personally fit in the species based on his assessment of your personal hygiene. He saved his low volume chewing and real scorn for those who were slow in shaping up, which primarily consisted of wondering if said person might do better asking to be released to their mommy, or perhaps applying to the Marines...

I don’t know VA law on firearms, but it’s true certain folks are exempt from the laws that rich lawyers write for the peasantry.
