The pay for actually being able to use math skills (programming, engineering, accounting, etc) was the just so MUCH better than teaching.

Yeah well, we will get to pay for that too. All these kids with dumbed down government education are taking loans for dumbed down worthless degrees. Ones where they can’t find jobs that will pay for their worthless degree. The professors trying to help students pursue worthwhile degrees are complaining about how much longer it is taking to get each generation up to speed. On the bright side, it looks like more elementary schools are taking advantage of computer learning systems that offset the general incompetence of the public sector teachers. And no, I’m not saying they are all incompetent.

Conservatives ceded the educational system to the liberals decades ago, now we are paying the price for that decision.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Hmm, no mention of “hunting and fishing” anywhere. Pretty sure those activities were such integral parts of colonial life that it never would have occurred to the Framers to include an amendment specifically protecting that right. It was merely a given. It would have made just as much sense for them to include an amendment guaranteeing every American’s right to eat, drink, sleep and breathe. I mean, duh!

Man, it would be totally awful for Americaland if one of those unsophisticated “hunter-fishers” was only a couple heartbeats away from the Oval Office.

Good for you. I used to think the NRA was “unreasonable.” I also used to thing Old man Bush was more electable than Reagan and if he needed to raise taxes for spending cuts so be it. Live and learn.
Became an NRA lifer in 1993 after the first gun trouble with Clinton. Went from three guns to a big, nice, juicy safe full of em. Ammo too. Never thought we would be going through round two—silly me.

First of all, the left keeps trying to bring in the hunting and the fishing. I do believe Heller changed that dynamic and the left doesn’t want to admit it. If you’re trying to defend yourself, why should you be limited by the size of the ammunition clip and the weapon you hold? You can rest assured that the person trying to break into your home could care less what Barack Obama and the democrats say the size of the magazine should be. Someone needs to get real.
