The Republicans need to deal with Pravda and Izvestia first. You can’t have an honest debate on the issues without a free press and what we have now is little more than the media wing of the Democratic Party. It’s apparent they no longer report the news, they chose sides and report the propaganda. This last election was the final straw, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not sure how you deal with it, either by pulling advertising and treating all of them like Fox News is treated by Democrats would be a start. Whatever it is, it has to be done, and it has to be done soon. There are serious issues that have to be dealt with, immigration, guns, debt, and spending, without the media “reporting” on the issue, the Republicans will have a difficult time getting their side out, on each issue. No matter what you say, the majority of the American people still get their news from legacy media. It’s a fact that has to be dealt with.

If there isn’t a new party for the conservatives in 2014, we aren’t voting anymore. We know that the demonrats & repubs don’t represent us anymore and the libertarians are a bunch of nuts, the vote counting is probably corrupt, it doesn’t make much sense to waste time going to the polls.

If you’re not willing to go 3rd party by then I could completely respect a decision to bow out. Because if you can’t even whip the GOP into defense when the 2nd amendment is on the line, they’re useless and unreformable, and there’s no point in voting…with the ballot box, that is.

The typical GOPer who wants the debt ceiling raised doesn’t have the same motivation as the typical Dumbocrat who does.

Any GOPer who is willing to raise the debt ceiling w/o first requiring serious spending reforms to be associated with his/her potential vote is a useless coward.

That’s easy, Pelosi would have passed it in December, everyone would have said how wonderful it was and how bad the Republicans were that opposed it, the Democrats would have gotten hundreds of additional votes and laughed all the way to the inaugural events.

What Boehner did was stupid, stupid, stupid. WIthout an alternative ready, which he had plenty of time for, he should have just passed the Senate bill. If he had an alternative, he should have submitted it and forced Reid to deal with it. He did neither.

Let’s just find some tightwad and make him King. That way, we’d only have to pay to enrich ONE guy, instead of the entire Congress and all its clingers-on. I’d almost settle for a King at this point. That is, if we could find a nice thrifty one. {sigh…}

One of the few advantages of a monarchy was that if things went far enough south, it was a lot easier for John Q. Citizen to determine where the buck stopped and what should be done about it.

The problem was, of course, that said monarchy still had as much control of the military as our Presidents do…and on top of that they tended to live in big fortified castles. The French demonstrated that said castles were not invincible, but ~98 times out of 100 pitchforks and torches didn’t work so well against archers and cavalry and knights.

Either a committee with a Republican chairman and majority, or a group of staff chosen by the Republican Speaker. Either way, a Republican party that does not believe in limited government or the rule of law, has no point for me.

Unless, Boehner and the House Republicans get serious(significant cuts, implemented immediatly) deficit reduction on the debt-ceiling debate, the Republican party will simply be dead to me.

I jest, but damn… We keep sending these people to Washington, and they keep lining the trough. It’s 16 TRILLION dollars already. If we can’t even make them understand that we’ve had it with the pork, then why do we bother?

Whether through coercion or by choice, Boehner is a treasonous coward. The mere fact that he had the shrivelled prunes to run again for his position is appalling.

If it were scientifically feasible, he would deserve even less respect than San Fran Nan.
