WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama plans to push Congress to move quickly in the coming months on an ambitious overhaul of the immigration system that would include a path to citizenship for most of the 11 million illegal immigrants in the country, senior administration officials and lawmakers said last week.

Obama and Senate Democrats will propose the changes in one comprehensive bill, the officials said, resisting efforts by some Republicans to break the overhaul into smaller pieces — separately addressing young illegal immigrants, migrant farmworkers or highly skilled foreigners — that might be easier for reluctant members of their party to accept.(More…)

Of course the biggest con here is how many illegals are there really?
Many say 12-20 million.Truth is few know and even fewer have done any research to figure out just how many are here.

The above link to the “Social Contract” by James T. Walsh a brilliant immigration scholar and former govt. immigration lawyer.He asserts that the number is more like 36 million with 2 million visa overstays. Maybe a few went back home due to theobamba economy so maybe its down to only 30 million. Still a long way from the acknowledged 8-12 or 12-20 million figures commonly used.
Even worse is the multiplier effect from anchor babies. First an illegal(not one of the rocket scientists either, average intelligence of border crossers from mexico are fourth grade) comes to the us when she is 8 and 9/10 months pregnant, has here anchor baby here and who knows how many else are on the dole in no time at all.
Its all one more scary scenario about how we can lose a country without even trying in less than eight years.
