This is the passage you quoted – Matthew 19:5 English Standard Version (ESV)

‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”.

In what way could anything there be “factually incorrect?”. Only an idiot would think the “become one flesh” was literal.

Many people choose to do things that others discriminate and hate on. It doesn’t make it any less of a choice.

I think the horse would likely object. A horse is not a consenting adult so it can’t enter into marriage or contracts.

The best known episcopalian theologian, Shelby Spong, was quite upfront that he didn’t even believe IN Jesus. And he was a Bishop in that “church” for over 20 years.

In Matthew 19:4-6, Jesus Himself gave a clear endorsement of His Father’s establishment of marriage as one man + one woman (Genesis 2:24):

“And He answered and said to them, ‘Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?…”

I try to tell people that the issue isn’t as isolated as their movement would have you believe. They really are about destroying organized faith. Those lawsuits are increasing now also. There’s the same sex military couple here at Ft. Bragg that is forcing the wife into the family support group. She isn’t recognized by NC as a wife so she can’t get a military ID card. Its what integrating into the military was all about, forcing acceptance within a federal level organization.

There seems to be no room for respectful dissent. Get out of their way or they will destroy you.

Once we begin to believe in bullshit and magic, we lose our ability to critically think and factually examine the world around us. We become victims of superstition and those who wish to take advantage of us. Those who believe the Bible is the literal truth are substituting a book with critical thinking, despite the fact that passages like Matthew 19:5 are factually incorrect.
