Because when a guy named Miller challenged the law, the courts took so long that, when it finally got to the Supreme Court, Miller was dead and his lawyer didn’t bother to show up. So the government was able to argue their side without opposition, and in many people’s opinion told the court many lies, which the court relied upon to make their ruling that the 2nd Amendment allowed the government to regulate those weapons.

I’ve about had enough of this crap.
