Call me a cheese-eating surrender monkey if you want, but I’ve totally given up on everything concerning Ogabe’s agenda. (Actually, I’m not a big cheese eater at all — just the occasional cheeseburger or grilled cheese sandwich.) Ogabe himself would be easy enough to break given a little bit of testicular fortitude on the R side. (Yes, I’m laughing as I write that.) But it isn’t just Ogabe: it’s his LSM chorus. By the time the ususal suspects get done trashing any Republican resistance to Hagel, 80% of the country will be convinced that McConnell, Boehner, et al. are a bunch of racist, white-hood wearing, America hating neobarbarians. (Yes, I read David Weber.) Until and unless conservatives get more control of the conventional news establishment, we won’t get one damn thing done.

Because the Republicans have proven that they’re not willing/principled enough to do what it takes to win any tough battles. They’ll have to filibuster to block this and they won’t do it.

It’s a puzzling choice since Barky came out of the closet but then Barky doesn’t like screaming queers any more than Hagel – that’s why he wears a bomber jacket and skips down the steps of Air Force 1 with such machismo.

…I think Hagel will be a disaster for the Dems–the American Jewish vote is about to get the government they voted for, and they’re about to get it good and hard. Maybe they’ll take a lesson from what’s about to be done to Israel.

I think it’s just that the people who have been able to muster some interest about politics over the last two weeks have been entranced by the fiscal cliff debacle. This is an important issue in wresting the Jewish demographic from the Democrats. Let’s be clear that Hagel is an anti-Semite.

Jews voted overwhelmingly for Obama, and over time it just becomes tiresome to keep pointing out that he is anti-Israel and buys into the colonial view of that part of the world. They’re getting what they voted for.

1.) Most people don’t know who the heck Chuck Hagel is. The video clips, the salacious quotes, etc, of Hagel, are nowhere to be found regarding why this guy would be terrible.

2.) His most vocal opponents are the gay lobby and Israel lobby. Those aren’t exactly known to be core constituencies of the GOP.

3.) Who is Obama going to nominate that would be better?

4.) What has Chuck Hagel actually done that would make him completely unacceptable?

He is invincible. Right now Drudge has linked to the Weekly Standard which is reporting that Hagel is not gay-friendly enough to be SecDef.

That’s their comeback: Hagel isn’t gay-friendly enough to be SecDef.

So now every conservative viewing Drudge — especially social conservatives — are now scratching their heads wondering why the Weekly Standard is so concerned with Hagel’s past comments on gay rights and why it’s a scandal that Hagel had a social conservative view on gays in the military.

See, Barry is playing chess with toddlers and is winning. Team Barry know what scab to pick; they know the neoconservatives are not really conservative in any traditional sense; and they know the doves and realists bitterly hate the neoconservatives and their smear campaigns.

It’s divide and conquer and they’re winning.
