You are correct.

We can defeat 0bama... only to find the new media despot arise in his aftermath.

The media must be held to the spirit of the 1st Amendment, by coaxing, by legal injunction, or by force.

The virus of the MSM has infected the country, and is must be cauterized and cured.

If the Republicans ran Jesus Christ and the Democrats ran Lucifer, JC would maybe win in a squeaker, or, more likely these days, lose- thanks to relentless propaganda by the Media.
And in the aftermath, we would end up quarreling over whether JC was man enough for the fight, rather than the fact that a completely corrupt media held sway over the voters.

Imagine if, in the aftermath of Sandy Hook, the Media focused on the real problems of a general degradation of morals and society, and the undervaluation of life, rather than focusing on stripping law abiding gun owners of their rights. What a different debate we would be having, eh? What a different outcome we would have.

So on a personal note, color me disgusted over our failure to even recognize and acknowledge the enemy within, let alone deal with them for what they are.

Observation:

-The media is the problem.

-How the hell did Obama get elected in 2008 and then re-elected in 2012? If the media had done even a fraction of its job in laying out factual information about him and his record- never mind were they an actual cheerleader and propagandist for his opponent- he wouldn't have been able to win an election for dog catcher. Hell, if the media acted toward Obama like they would have against any conservative or even liberal-leaning Republican, he would probably be jailed by now.

Think about what the media has let slide on Obama: Fast and Furious and Benghazi come to mind by virtue of their recent occurrence, but there are hundreds of other examples, as displayed in the OOTD threads. Now think about that for which the media has relentlessly excoriated conservatives and Republicans.

The same applies with issues. The media not only controls the debate but even the items that are debated. Gay marriage comes to mind as well as gun control, again because of their being recent issues. Imagine if the media laid out the actual facts about taxes, spending, the economy, etc., instead of propagandizing for one skewed viewpoint.

So we can beat our heads against the wall and engage in endless self-recrimination over the candidates that we run for office or how advocates such as the NRA present their case. And we can bemoan the "low information voters". But they are not the fundamental problem.

FLASHBACK: When Boehner 1st won the nomination for Speaker of the Houe, he blubbered about the win & went on and on over his life story, how much he had overcome, & what it meant to him to chieve that position. As for me, I remember thinking at the time,

                    "Dude, It ISN'T about YOU!"

It wasn't about HIM, & it wasn't about the Republican Party! After 4 years of Democratic Party 'rule', shoving everything down the opposing majority of American peoples' throats, it was an opportunity to RESTORE SANITY / ETHICS / MORALITY / PROPER GOVT PROCEDURES to the House! Boehner completely missed that his nomination was not supposed to be a victory for HIM but for AMERICA! Instead of restoring all of that he attempted to play THEIR Game by THEIR Rules...behind THEIR closed doors.

Boehner learned NOTHING from that last Debt Ceiling Battle, during which closed-door negotiations he - & the nation - got our @$$e$ KICKED. He arrogantly attempted to take another shot at it, again behind closed doors with Obama, and once again came out holding his sore man parts and his tail between his legs! Hopefully his ego is firmly in check now & he fully understands 'this' isn't about HIM!

Also....Republicans absolutely $UCK at communicating with the American people & in using PR...and that is in LARGE PART Boehner's fault as well! (The man is having a bad month & it is only Day 4 of the 1st month of a new year!)

The Senate passed that PORK-FILLED Monstrosity of a faux Sandy Relief bill...and the GOP then allowed them to lad the 1st political theatrical punch by using the media to attack them over refusing to vote on the bill.

WHAT BOEHNER SHOULD HAVE DONE, upon scanning the bill & finding the pork, was IMMEDIATELY just walk off the House Floor, right out of the House, & onto the House Steps to address the media...

BEFORE EVER ANNOUNCING TO THE HOUSE FLOOR THERE WOULD BE NO IMMEDIATE VOTE, Boehner should have made that announcement to / THROUGH the media:

<em>"I just received the Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill, & I am APALLED by this parasitic bill that attempts to leech off of the misfortunes of those who have experienced such loss and tragedy! As Rahm Emmanuel once said, 'Never let a crisis go to wast', & that is what the Democrats in the Senate are attempting to do with this bill. They have packed this bill so full of PORK spending, for their own personal and party benefit, that the cost of that pork in this bill is a higher amount than what will be going to the victims of Hurricane Sandy! To try to use achieve personal gain at a time when these victims are still suffering is both unethical and immoral. What the Democrats have done by packing this bill with PORK is to delay much needed relief, as I can NOT, in good conscience, allow this bill in its current state to go forward. THERE WILL BE NO VOTE ON THIS DISGRACEFUL BILL...AND I PROMISE THE VICITMS OF HURRICANE SANDY THAT THE HOUSE WILL WORK AS QUICKLY AS IT CAN STRIP THE GREEDY ADDITIONS FROM THIS BILL AND PASS THE RELIEF YOU DESPERATELY DESERVE!"</em>

Then I would have walked back into the House, told the GOP in the House to tell their Interns to order pizza, because they were going to be there as long as it took to srrip all that pork out of the bill before passing it!

Boehner PI$$ED his fellow Republicans in the House off when 1) He negotiated with Obama BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, even though Obama is the big LYING HYPOCRITE who promised to run the 'most transparent administration evuh'. NOTHING should be negotiated behind closed doors, ESPECIALLY anything pertaining to how our lives will be affected being negotiated by rich elitists who are exempt from the legislation they are arguing over!

The newly-elected House Members, God bless them, rebelled & challenged the good-ol'-boy/establishment-create procedures adopted over time - shocking Boehner - & caused him to lose his 'Plan B'. Many stuck to their guns & refused to vote for the final bill, that they were handed 15 MINUTES before a vote was to be called. One new member stated that the new members have banded together to restore the PROPER procedures in the House -- NO MORE BEHIND-CLOSED-DOOR NEGOTIATIONS & ANY BILL THAT IS NOT DELIVERED AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF ANY VOTE (As PROMISED by Obama, so everyone can read it/them) WILL GET A 'NO/NAY' VOTE FROM NOW ON! Good for them!

In the end Boehner STILL delivered a bitter pill for the GOP to swallow - a bill intended to reduce spending, pay down the deficit, & increase taxes on 'the rich' so the rest of us wouldn't have to pay higher taxes. Instead, Boehner agreed to a bill that INCREASED deficit spending, ADDED $3.8 TRILLION in New Debt, got $15 Billion in spending cuts...OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS, & raised taxes on 77% os ALL Americans. Boehner FAILED to negotiate anything REMOTELY to what even Obama promised - he negotiated & accepted something FAR WORSE!

If there is a bright spot to all of this, to Boehner's behind-closed-door negotiations, it is that the kick to Boehner's private parts Obama gave him & the scolding the rebellious new Republicans gave him when he limped back into the House has resulted in Boehner vowing to END the behind-closed-door negotiations!

This constant bickering and internal dissent will get us nothing except an endless future controlled by leftists.

<blockquote>That is a judgment call. Right now the Institutional Republicans control the entire nominating process. If you remember, they tightened control on naming candidates at the last national convention, so the state and national committees get a veto.

Conservatives who are in congress have been marginalized and removed from any committees where they can do some good. Thus, the process to have any affect on the national level is going to have to be spending years getting people elected over the objections of those who would collaborate with the Democrats. Then, once we get them in congress, we have to fight more years as they take fire from both sides until we have enough in office to over-ride the Institutional Republicans. And note, that the Democrats will side with the Institutionals against conservatives.

With things going the way that they are, we have less than a year before the organic waste impacts the rotating airfoil economically or politically. And maybe one more election before Obama goes for it all. A new party will have the chance of drawing a few of the conservative incumbents, could handle its own nominations without being suppressed by the Republican parties, albeit it would mean petitioning onto the ballot and the coverage would be far from nationwide. And the incumbents and any new candidates could campaign on conservative issues and not be subordinate to the likes of Boehner.

Do I think that we would have that great an effect before the organic waste impacts? No, but then again with the current Republican *sarc* leadership /*sarc* and refusal to stand and fight for anything; we are going to be beaten by the Leftists like a rented mule. A real second party can at least be used as a point of organization for the Splat! moment.

There is no benefit to staying with the Republicans. There is an extremely slim chance that a new party can accomplish something to rebuild the country in the future.

YMMV
