clearly this man flunked math, our debt is 16+ trillion, he has no idea what one trillion is. There are a lot of people who wouldn’t know the answer and they vote.

Great idea, and yet: I already donate many thousands of dollars per paycheck to pay down the debt. To the IRS. Strangely, the debt continues to rise. How about everyone who voted for President Messiah start this ball rolling, and the rest of us will watch. Let us know how it works out.

This reminds me of the ignorant idea that gets floated into my e mail box occasionally to pay $1 million each to everyone over 50, as long as they quit their job, pay off their mortgage and buy an American car. The mathematically-challenged author is too stupid to figure out that it would cost $40 trillion to implement.

Math is so hard for the well-meaning low-information folks.

There’s no way out of this without entitlement reform and/or tax hikes on the middle class. One way or another, average Americans will sacrifice.

True, although the Fiscal Cliff combo of tax hikes on the middle class and large cuts to defense and discretionary domestic spending would also get us out of this mess, it brings us back to sustainable and healthy deficit levels within 10 years.

The problem is on the spending side. Really! And much of the spending is pure waste, crony-ism, graft, and kickbacks. John F Kennedy started the graft ball rolling in 1962 when he wrote the executive order allowing federal government unions.

Well, first off 12 trillion – 300 million =/= 0

Second off, I’d be okay with some big extra taxes to pay down the debt if we were actually given some sort of assurances that spending would not exceed revenue in the future.

Frankly, higher debt might keep the government spending somewhat down. If we just bailed the government out then there is no incentive to be responsible. So… I’m not giving the government money unless they actually balance the budget. Since they’re still talking about exceeding revenue I see no reason to throw good money after bad.

I like that part about how he will tell you exactly how to make out your check so that it goes toward debt reduction. Assuming that his actually happens, which is ridiculous on it’s face, can you imagine how our spending addicted politicians would react? They can’t wait to spend $2 for every $1 anyone sends them.

Double-plus good! Couldn’t agree more, but that’s usually the way fraud works isn’t it now? Just look at the Madoff victims-left holding the bag just like the American taxpayer at large.

Confiscate the salaries of every member of congress that ever voted for any spending bill. Let them pay for it.

Wouldn’t scratch the surface. Have the IRS investigate ALL of their finances and those of their pals, including these phony social action and political action groups…of BOTH parties…little more than laundering fronts. The IRS sucks, but if given the task, they will go after anyone they’re ordered to-and do it effectively.

But, they use their positions to write the laws and to protect themselves. The perfect scam.
