To be clear, I have no doubt that by now the Obama Administration has lined up somebody at ATF who is willing to say that some unnamed person in the DC police gave him/her erroneous information. Because the Most Transparent Administration in History just rolls that way (cough Benghazi cough Fast&Furious cough IG investigation of Sacramento mayor cough Solyndra approvals cough GM/Chrysler dealer terminations cough). What HAL is refusing to see out of sheer ignorance and rabid clinging to socialist dogma is the crazed gunman in New York. There are lots of laws against that guy owning a gun, but despite HAL’s bleatings, those laws did nothing to prevent that nut from getting the weapons he used to kill the firefighters.

What we are against are the radical conservatives who seem to be against any sensible gun control law that prevents maniacs from obtaining guns.

The alternative is for us to get off of the internet, and keep our mouths shut the way we have for the last 50 years of the Twentieth Century. Afraid that all we have left is an occasional visit to the ballot box and forums like HA. If nothing else, we know we’re not alone.

He probably didn’t expect any real scrutiny because he’s a reporter/commentator, especially by DC police detectives. Police involvement now has Gregory’s colleagues basically saying he pulled an innocent stunt, so everyone should let it pass.

Too bad LaPierre didn’t know DC law well enough to nail Gregory to the wall on national TV.

But then, it’s not possible for anybody to keep track of all the laws gun owners can be sent to jail for violating.

Gregory has certainly been able to provide us all with a great example for the gun debate. If he’s charged, it will be an example of the ridiculousness of our gun laws and the stupidity of adding more. If he walks, it’s an example of liberal hypocrisy and how our corrupt legal system sends violators to jail or lets you walk depending on how politically connected you are to the liberal elite.
