Putin is right about our attack of Libya. And now we want to follow with Syria? We can’t just go around attacking every country we want when we get the whim. Sounds like Hitler. Oh yes… but we do it for the “greater good.” Right, “good” according to who? Are we the ultimate arbiters? Are we the country of supreme goodness?

Nope, ole Vlad is a sharp dude, not to mention a former KGB officer, he simple see’s an opportunity to enjoy a little old fashioned schadenfreude at the US expense. Ronald Reagan took down the old Soviet Union by spending them out of existence. Vlad see’s that Obama is bound and determined to do the same thing to the US and Vlad is looking to egg Obama on in that endeavor.

It took until August 2011 for the US to admit that Assad was the problem and not the solution.

Those that continue to fail to understand the socio-philosophical underpinnings of Arab Islamic culture will always misidentify the good guys and the bad guys in Arab Islamic societies. As horrible and evil a character as Bashar Assad is, and yes he is, he is still frighteningly, the good guy in the struggle going on in Syria.

So the UN is saying Syria is beginning to be the flashpoint of a larger Muslim Sect internecine war. Blue on Blue, in other words, and threatens to draw in all the neighboring Islamic states.

Not sure I see the downsides here, to be honest. If the Islamists are busy shooting each other, they have less time to shoot others. It sucks for the innocent civilians, but as with the Palestinians, is there such a thing as an “innocent civilian?” anymore over there? Or a large contingency, I mean?
