Also, remember how Reagan never, ever told a joke? Sure, this is a different style of humor, but it coincides with a change in culture and voters—value judgments aside—inarguably more influenced by pop culture and celebrity comics than they used to be.

It may have to do more with people being upset that this is even the case, not that this particular person is doing it.

Was a time where being in government was a serious job dealing with serious issues and doing serious work.

Now it’s a clown car festival and a joke. Nowadays politicians have to be idiots to pander to the voting idiots because their attention spans can’t handle what the real work of government should be.

Hello, we just lost an election because our guy was too serious and people thought he was out of touch with their lives. Get over “serious” and get on with making GOP politics as entertaining as Dem politics.

Why empower a disgusting stooge like Colbert? He’s a moral coward and a Kermit Gosnell award winner (Cafeteria Catholic division) who despises every good and decent thing this country stands for.

I’m sorry, but this is dumb. Colbert is a clown, and for Haley to give this any oxygen whatsoever makes a mockery of the entire process.

If you’re going for Al Franken and Colbert why not just get the cast of Saturday Night Live or Pretty Little Liars to be the Congress instead of the one we have?

What about the SNL cast votes on a budget that the Pretty Little Liars House sends them and then the “X Factor” judges are the final deciders?

THAT way we’d at least get a budget.

I alternate between thinking this is TEATERMERICA or SODOMERICA (Sodom and Gommorah with technology). But maybe this is really this is all just a reality show like Truman set up by a far superior alien race that’s watching and having a hoot?

If these sorts of moments had any chance of defusing the situation, I’d say great. The left does not stop campaigning though; they haven’t in at least six years. At this point though the only safe measure is to assume they’re up to something political, something probably dirty, and any dealing with them is bound to backfire or be twisted for later use against conservatives. Colbert isn’t somebody I’d trust the slightest bit. It’s all too obvious that as he jokes back, he’s picturing himself standing alongside Al Franken.

As far as Haley, I’m less annoyed with this one instance as I am with the overall dragging it out and playing to the press. Floating Jenny Sanford was the final straw moment that just made me say come on appoint Scott (or Gowdy would be okay too) and be done with it.

Maybe I’m being uptight here, but seeing a nation go stupid enough to repeat their largest mistake does that to me.

Some in Hollywood are born leaders, but less than 1 1/10 of 1%. Yet, we still pine for CLOWNS to run our country. Those that are paid to act like someone else for a living.
