I’m white and a Missouri voter. My choices for Senate this year were Claire McCaskill and Todd Akin.

Obama just won big in an election where he said he wanted to raise taxes. And we keep listening to the far-right in Congress who live in like 60%+ Republican districts that we should fight him on this. The same people who have cost us the Senate twice now by throwing up crackpot candidates like O’Donnell, Angle, Akin, etc.

Do we never want to win a national election again?

Stop listening to these far-right morons and cut a deal already. And pick a battle we can win, like crushing the public unions.

You can’t pin Akin on the far right. So stop trying.

Also, my representative was sent to Washington to not raise taxes. He has never voted to raise taxes in his entire career, and we knew that when we elected him . He is fighting for what his constituents want and is getting punished for it by leadership. If he caves, he will not be reelected. Why should we listen you, someone who has no say in electing my representative?

I may not agree with Boehner’s proposals and feel he will ultimately cut a deal no matter what the cost- but the man has been working several proposals. That is in addition to legislation the House has passed and Harry Reid’s Senate has stalled.

“Hi Republicans and Democrats. I’m the Federal Budget. Curious where I’ve been for the last four years?”

But Republicans are…to be mostly blamed?

King Obama goes golfing and plans his $4 million vacation to Hawaii. Republicans will be in session until the end of the year. Boehner is taking heat from his party for the various deals rumored to be in the pipeline or statements on taxes he is making. Obama chides, well, everyone, for not having a balanced approach. What is Mr. Obama’s plan anyway? Has he formulated one?

There is plenty of blame over the years for our current situation. But the President is accumulating deficits of $1.2 trillion a year. He is ultimately the one responsible for leadership of our country. And he’s shown none. His only proclivity is to divide us and destroy each other. While he sits on a beach in Hawaii.

But it’s Republicans fault or something.

I guess stupidity is infectious.

But they won’t be able to get away with this fairy tale forever.

Yep. Let’s see the MSM hide the fallout from the public then….and explain why they aren’t as culpable as the Democrats.

Instead of the GOP voting “present” on any “fiscal cliff” legislation, how about not showing up at all? No quorum = no work. The Democrats cannot pass a bill by themselves in the House. Since they don’t add up to the majority (and according to Article 1, Section 5, Clause 1 of the Constitution, it would take 218 House members to constitute a quorum; there are only 193 Democrats in the 112th Congress, and only 200 in the 113th), nothing will get done.

And since spending bills have to come from the House, Harry Reid will have nothing to block in the Senate.

And Rome burns anyway. But at least the GOP didn’t start the fire.

I was wondering the same thing.

One was a beautiful Confederate States of American bond, with only two coupons clipped.

More pertinent, I also have two beautifully framed Zimbabwe $10 trillion notes.

This particular kind of chart is exactly the kind of statistic that was used to run former President Bush into the ground. The statistic for republicans is made up of democrats hating republicans because they would not give Obama a blank check in August 2011, PLUS republicans who wanted them to hold an even stronger line against Obama than they did. Two polar opposites, as far as their reasoning goes. Added together.

The media uses this combination of apples and oranges to claim that people don’t believe in what the republicans are doing, and to undermine republican support for stronger measures. That was true when George Bush was up against Nancy Pelosi. Our opinions were used to tell George Bush to cease and desist.

With Bush, the media then encouraged us to join in on dumping on Bush, of course, we said he was not fiscally responsible enough, and presided over too much of Nancy Pelosi’s profligate spending…reduced in MSM media spin to, Republicans Hate George Bush too. It is not popular to defend G.W. Bush.

The media is concocting statistics to get Boehner to cease and desist as we speak. Somehow Fox News got people to say yesterday in a poll that 89% want spending cut.

But in the poll above, “Making an effort” is equated with “working with Obama” which, ahem, shore aint the same thing in my book.

We need tax reform with new permanent tax rates, and a simpler tax code. We need SS/Medicare reforms. I would put the fiscal cliff on hold. That is the deal that gives both sides a year to figure the taxes out. Obama’s payroll tax cut is a PRIME indicator that something is wrong with SS and the tax withholding for the payroll tax. Self employment SS is 15%. I do want to go over the cliff, so there will be a reason to do this reform.

And, we have to get all the parasitic programs out of SS. End disability claims by people who are not seniors, for god’s sake. (And I would move Self employment taxes to a separate system.)

Fox could do a segment with Johnson, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Maxine Waters. Whoa the lunacy would be epic…
