Video: Steven Crowder gets the full union-thug experience

posted at 4:01 pm on December 11, 2012 by Allahpundit

When I saw his tweet this morning, I wondered if he had oversold what happened. Nope. Not only does one guy start throwing roundhouses, another yanks him back hard by his jacket collar and seems ready to jump him before people around them step in. A third guy curses him out and looks like he’s moments away from making a move of his own before Crowder backs off to cool him down. Why? Because the state decided they shouldn’t be able to force people to join their organization as a condition of employment. I’m not sure why they’re worried about that, frankly; given their tactics, who’d dare take a job working alongside these cretins while refusing to unionize? This is their version of an anti-RTW ad: If you’re thinking of exercising your freedom of association, make sure you think carefully. And not a single Democratic pol will say a word about it, beyond the most perfunctory “of course I deplore violence but…” statement wrung from their press team.

You might see this clip on Fox News today. Smart money says you won’t see it anywhere else. Exit question: When was “democracy” redefined to mean “doing whatever unions want”?

Update: Presented without comment:

“This is just the first round of a battle that’s going to divide this state. We’re going to have a civil war,” Hoffa said on CNN’s “Newsroom.”

Crowder came real close to unloading on that thug, but he mostly pulled back to make it look like the assault is was instead of being spun as a fight.

Democrats and liberal pundits freely tossed about terms like terrorist, Hamas, hostage taking, and more to refer to the Tea Party and/or Republicans.

outrage!

“I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting. Most of us didn’t think that. What we did learn is this — it’s a hostage that’s worth ransoming.”

Yep, and watching the video, it was clear to me that those two thugs approached Crowder fully intending to rough him up. It was scripted. Look at the body language, the way the hitter puffs out his chest as he walks up to him, the way they both strut up to him. Those two thugs had been selected as the union’s designated hitters. They were moving in to do their job.

It must be so easy to be a liberal. Violence is only deplorable if:

A. It’s done by a U.S. Soldier to anybody else

B. It’s done to a minority

C. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young sing about it

D. All of the above

Good Solid B-Plus on December 11, 2012 at 7:46 PM

given that mitch mcconnell himself described republicans as hostage takers, the premise of your post – that democrats once again broke some imaginary civility pledge by pointing out the obvious – is invalid. to make your point about tucson, you also conflate the misguided finger pointing in the immediate aftermath – which is more analogous to the right’s reaction to the norway massacre – and calls for less vitriol in politics as the nation grieved. the latter is what you have since latched on to paint democrats as hypocrites each time they say something that hurts your fee-fees.

This is also an example were the GOP have the truth behind us, but also a good marketing slogan…”Right to Work”. Progressives and union thugs sound really stupid when they are screaming to stop “Right to Work”. The general low information voter will be like…”what?…why are they against a right to work?”. I think that is why the unions and progressives are having a melt down on this. It is not easy to spin for them.

Now we just need “Right to Education” for school choice and “Right to Energy” for using our own natural resources.

Marketing and Propaganda are important…yes even for the good guys.

They see their own doing what they project Conservative behavior to be and my God they have every freaking excuse for the actual thuggery to include blaming the victim.

When are you people embarrassed?

hawkdriver on December 11, 2012 at 7:12 PM

Never! In the last 4 years or so, I’ve read two articles that – to this day – I still can’t believe that I actually read, were actually written, contain counterfactual history on a level that staggers, proves that the Left is almost NEVER responsible for ANYTHING and, in the situations where there is NO WAY THEY CAN BLAME THE RIGHT, it was worth it…probably…for the greater good.

Incidentally, both involved the original Royal Family of the Democrat Party, the Kennedys.

As I wrote earlier today, according to RFK, Jr, in a huffy article on The Puffy Host, The Right and their “toxic vitriol” was really responsible for JFK’s a.s.s.a.s.sination. Yep. This is true even though Lee Harvey Oswald, who was a well-known Communist and had once defected to the Soviet Union, had attempted to a.s.s.a.s.sinate Gerneral Edwin Walker, an actual, real-life member of the John Birch Society and charter member of the Society of “Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy” Conspiracy Theorists. This guy was so far out in right field that he believed that Eisenhower was a Communist and spy for the Soviets…so, obviously, his “violent” rhetoric would have the natural effect of causing a Communist, one-time defector to the Soviet Union, Fidel Castro-loving left-winger to go out and kill the Democrat President of the United States whose name was Kennedy, not Eisenhower.

Seriously, it makes complete sense. It was the MK-ULTRA. Amazing, both Alex Jones and Robert F Kennedy, Jr, both believe that it was “right-wing extremists” associated with the MIC using impolite language.

Make sure to read the comments. Some of the posters actually remember where they were when the “extreme right-wing killed Kennedy.” Not kidding.

2. In another article on The Puffy Host, feminist Melissa Lafsky, wrote in an article title, “The Footnote Speaks: What Would Mary Jo Kopechne Have Thought of Ted’s Career?” that:

Mary Jo wasn’t a right-wing talking point or a negative campaign slogan. She was a dedicated civil rights activist and political talent with a bright future — granted, whenever someone dies young, people sermonize about how he had a “bright future” ahead of him — but she actually did. She wasn’t afraid to defy convention (28 and unmarried, oh the horror!) or create her own career path based on her talents. She lived in Georgetown (where I grew up) and loved the Red Sox (we’ll forgive her for that). Then she got in a car driven by a 36-year-old senator with an alcohol problem and a cauldron full of demons, and wound up a controversial footnote in a dynasty.

We don’t know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she’d have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don’t know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.

Still, ignorance doesn’t preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn’t automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted’s death, and what she’d have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.

Who knows — maybe she’d feel it was worth it.

I KID YOU NOT. They’ve taken the article down, but you can still read it here.

The lengths that the Left will go to to afford responsibility are limitless.

We can start by supporting activist orgs with donations of whatever we can afford. I gave AFP-Michigan a small donation today to register my thanks, and also one to Crowley’s defense fund. When I see that an activist org has achieved some good results, I give them $15-25 (Think: a case of beer). If you can’t afford to give more, I think a lot of small donations are more supportive than a few big ones, especially when they’re expressly tied to specific accomplishments.

Reveal to who exactly? The same 30% of Americans that follow conservative media and know that unions are worthless, violent sacks of sh1t anyway? It accomplished nothing as will never get on the mainstream airways and when it does it will be spun as MSNBC did as two parties equally guilty.

You think that China and Russia under the guise of UN “peacekeeping” would not move in to aid the “correct” side. None of this is as cut and dry as you hope.

The United States needs to be disbanded for everyone’s sake.

I can’t imagine anyone ratting out the guy who assaulted Crowder, especially if his local is outside Michigan. If it does happen, I expect police to drag their feet making an arrest. Then, a prosecutor charging no more than simple harassment followed by a judge finding ‘not guilty’ or simply throwing the case out of court.

For Christ’s sake it is like all of you read from the same script. Being “cool” has nothing to do with it. Making sure my young son doesn’t have to have his guts blasted open in an inevitable war so certain naive, Lee Greenwood loving conservatives can sit on their asses and tsk tsk all their life is all I care about right now. F what this country has become and half of the citizens in it.

All empires fail eventually, it is our turn and many non-emotional individuals called this many years ago. Get this silly and childish love of country out of your decision making. America will be balkanized one way or the other and how you and your future family survive is going to be determined by what you do right now.

Breitbart Folks Appear to Fake Violence in Lansing — When I saw this video-claiming that a “violent mob” destroyed the tent the Koch brothers had paid for in front of the Michigan Capitol-I knew right away it was likely a false flag. After all, Stranahan, James O’Keefe’s buddy, first posted it.

They’re not that stupid. People like that do not act in good faith. They do not care about decency, honesty, civility, non-violence, compassion, tolerance, or understanding. Those are all just words they cynically employ to further their one true principle: acquiring power for themselves.

I have never bought the line that one should not attribute to malice that which can be attributed to stupidity.

tom daschle concerned on December 11, 2012 at 8:48 PM

When I say brownshirts I don’t have the government entities in mind, rather the classic subversive entities of the sort that made their appearance in Germany in the twenties. They will see the government as their enemy as much as any opposing political group. Th New Black Panthers are a sort of comic example. Once the government is seen as extending protection to only some groups, and therefore as illegitimate, fringe political groups grow both in numbers and activity. Clashes become commonplace and violence becomes seen as necessary —even desirable. We’ve been there before, and now all the conditions are almost in place.
