Video: Steven Crowder gets the full union-thug experience

posted at 4:01 pm on December 11, 2012 by Allahpundit

When I saw his tweet this morning, I wondered if he had oversold what happened. Nope. Not only does one guy start throwing roundhouses, another yanks him back hard by his jacket collar and seems ready to jump him before people around them step in. A third guy curses him out and looks like he’s moments away from making a move of his own before Crowder backs off to cool him down. Why? Because the state decided they shouldn’t be able to force people to join their organization as a condition of employment. I’m not sure why they’re worried about that, frankly; given their tactics, who’d dare take a job working alongside these cretins while refusing to unionize? This is their version of an anti-RTW ad: If you’re thinking of exercising your freedom of association, make sure you think carefully. And not a single Democratic pol will say a word about it, beyond the most perfunctory “of course I deplore violence but…” statement wrung from their press team.

You might see this clip on Fox News today. Smart money says you won’t see it anywhere else. Exit question: When was “democracy” redefined to mean “doing whatever unions want”?

Update: Presented without comment:

“This is just the first round of a battle that’s going to divide this state. We’re going to have a civil war,” Hoffa said on CNN’s “Newsroom.”

We all know the dangerous and disgusting scum that comprise union households. However, I year for the day Chowder gets a real job. You know, a soul-crushing desk job that doesn’t allow travel to such exotic locales as Michigan.

Well here, let me help you out with it, because it’s really quite simple:

There’s a ton of people I disagree with politically, including but not limited to you, libfreeordie, Rachel Maddow, Matt Damon, and our glorious President Obama. I don’t want to see any of them get punched in the face.

that unions are protesting? what’s to be gained from going there?

So now the freedom of a person to go and do and say what he pleases is conditional not on his violation of the law by impeding the freedom of others, but based on the arbitrary measure of whether sesqi specifically accepts and approves somebody’s rationale for being somewhere and doing something.

sesquipedalian on August 4, 2011 at 8:39 AM

to make your point about tucson, you also conflate the misguided finger pointing in the immediate aftermath – which is more analogous to the right’s reaction to the norway massacre – and calls for less vitriol in politics as the nation grieved. the latter is what you have since latched on to paint democrats as hypocrites each time they say something that hurts your fee-fees.

So, you ARE for violence when it is directed against those exercising their constitutional rights (in this case, speech, assembly, and press) as long as they are — as Obama would say — your “enemies.”

Crowder’s presence at the protests on public property in Lansing did not infringe upon anyone’s rights.

“Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man’s nose begins.” – Zechariah Chafee

Attempting to silence speech is un-American, Fascist behaviour and those that engage in it should be treated as we would treat an Oswald Mosley, Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, the Strasser brothers, or anyone in the Aryan Nation, EDL, neo-Nazi, etc, movements.

The D.E.A. had a paid informant at the kill sight.

The F.B.I. ground the kill gun up to hide where it came from.

The Democrat Party was in on the plan and runs the cover up of Brian Terrys death.

It is what it is.

After all, every time I see 0bama or Jay Carney or Harry Reid on TV, I get the overwhelming urge to punch them in the face as hard as I can.

UltimateBob on December 11, 2012 at 5:36 PM

there you go.

The difference is that UB curbs his urge, while your side gleefully acts on it.

I remember that. He was so desperate to demonstrate Tea Party violence after the weeks of OWS violence and property destruction we were witnessing that he conflated a horrible domestic murder/suicide with the Tea Party.

I now have a morbid curiosity to see how low you’ll sink.

Galt2009 on December 11, 2012 at 5:31 PM

i like how suddenly y’all are all mother theresa reincarnates. there are actually quite a few people who are so irritating that a punch in the face would bend the arc of the universe more toward justice than away from it.

Well, there ya go…ratty, old bathrobe and all. He even barks at cabs on occasion.

Resist We Much on December 11, 2012 at 5:46 PM

It is now okay to inflict violence on other people so long as the violence does not exceed a certain predetermined level, which I can only assume is also the arbitrary threshhold established by sesqi himself.

The Schaef on December 11, 2012 at 5:33 PM

pretty much. but you’re making it sound like this is somehow an extreme position.

one criterion would be a sufficient level of being irritating, which chowder easily passes. another criterion would be that violence would entail something temporarily painful and forever embarrassing, like showing up at a union demonstration and provoking some grizzled steel worker, only to get promptly sucker punched by one.

sesquipedalian on December 11, 2012 at 5:46 PM

I thought it funny when the guy says he’s against right to work because the “free loaders will then get the benefits they didn’t pay for”…… I’d bet $100 he voted for Obama and doesn’t get the irony.

Yet, they’re against the rich for wanting to keep what they earn and for welfare bumbs living off the taxpayers. Intelligent.

A self defense fund must be started immediately for Crowder.

There’s nothing wrong with provoking, even if he did, which he didn’t.
But your thick head can’t get that truth processed, now can it.

You see, this union thug actually punched Crowder, and you’re applauding it.

Good Solid B-Plus on December 11, 2012 at 5:39 PM

but i didn’t punch chowder myself and i’m not actually applauding the guy who did it. if you have any sense of decency, you’ll admit that seeing harry reid get punched in the face would be a very special treat. the celebration here would probably break hotair.

sesquipedalian on December 11, 2012 at 5:49 PM

It is time for Crowder to sue these union thugs. He has it on tape. I encourage him to take their damn pensions in court. These overpaid and under worked union goons think that they are above the law. The days of union thugs getting away with their violence must end now!!

Steven Crowder is not an accomplice in the theft of freedoms in this country. Harry Reid is. Now, who deserves a punch in the face?

theaddora on December 11, 2012 at 5:53 PM

I believe we’ve established through the fine work of commenters here that sesquipedalian:

1. Is a fascist.

2. Condones violence against political opponents wherever they may be and …

3. Is currently embroiled in a moral dilemma which wouldn’t embroil anyone not a liberal.

You don’t get it. Bringing us down to your level isn’t what we want. We want you to come up to our level.

darwin on December 11, 2012 at 5:54 PM

pretty much. but you’re making it sound like this is somehow an extreme position.

Deciding that you as an individual get to assign arbitrary values to whether violence is violent “enough”, or a person “deserves” it “enough”, or their rationale for doing something entirely within the bounds of the law is not “important enough”, to constitute an assault on another person, is an extreme position for someone who a). claims not to condone violence, esp. at political events, and b). lives in a nation governed laws and not by the whims of people with petty grievances.

That is the entire point of the law, and it boggles the mind that you could miss it so completely: that fair and equal treatment of persons apart from our individual leanings and prejudices is true justice, because it means a man or a mob does not get to decide whose rights are more important.

Seriously, dude, this is Civics 101 crap and for some reason you think I shouldn’t stand agog to watch you toss it aside so cavalierly.
