Video: Steven Crowder gets the full union-thug experience

posted at 4:01 pm on December 11, 2012 by Allahpundit

When I saw his tweet this morning, I wondered if he had oversold what happened. Nope. Not only does one guy start throwing roundhouses, another yanks him back hard by his jacket collar and seems ready to jump him before people around them step in. A third guy curses him out and looks like he’s moments away from making a move of his own before Crowder backs off to cool him down. Why? Because the state decided they shouldn’t be able to force people to join their organization as a condition of employment. I’m not sure why they’re worried about that, frankly; given their tactics, who’d dare take a job working alongside these cretins while refusing to unionize? This is their version of an anti-RTW ad: If you’re thinking of exercising your freedom of association, make sure you think carefully. And not a single Democratic pol will say a word about it, beyond the most perfunctory “of course I deplore violence but…” statement wrung from their press team.

You might see this clip on Fox News today. Smart money says you won’t see it anywhere else. Exit question: When was “democracy” redefined to mean “doing whatever unions want”?

Update: Presented without comment:

“This is just the first round of a battle that’s going to divide this state. We’re going to have a civil war,” Hoffa said on CNN’s “Newsroom.”

A tent set up by supporters of the measures also collapsed amid what authorities described as “pushing and shoving” among protesters. No one was hurt, police said.

Democart Party Leadership at its best.

Pres. Thug down to street thugs, all of them the same.

And not a single Democratic pol will say a word about it, beyond the most perfunctory “of course I deplore violence but…” statement wrung from their press team.

Even worse than that (since we all know what despicable, lying scum the dems are) not a single person in the GOP “leadership” will come out and call these anti-American thugs exactly what they are and put Barky and his lunatic dems on the line for supporting them. Of course, this isn’t the first time that the union thugs came out with violence in support of the dems (remember the finger being bitten off at the Town Hall or the other Town Hall events or the union thugs Barky bussed to bank executives’ homes in order to terrorize their families – during which Barky infamously told the bankers, “my administration is the only thing standing between you and the pitchforks.”?) but the GOP “leadership” refuses to call these people and their supporters infesting our government exactly what they are. Instead, we have the Weeping Boner embarrassed about the Tea Party and saying that he “understands” the Occupoopers. That is the worst part of all this.

In any event, it’s time for a national divorce. These leftists and their thugs want the American Socialist Superstate. I want nothing to do with them or their kind. I share nothing with these people and wouldn’t care less if they disappeared this minute. In fact, they are nothing but entropy raisers.

Time to drop the anchor of these leftist scumbags. Let them burn to hell in their own demented anti-Americanism. We need to be cut loose from these scum.

Interesting contrast here: In Michigan (Right to Work) and in Illinois (concealed carry), the right has two big victories today. In Washington, we are all waiting for what we know will the big surrender to collectivism currently being negotiated behind closed doors.

With our successes in the states, pretty obviously we need to find a way to rivitalize federalism. I’d love to see a smart lawyer craft a 10th Amendment case just to get the party started.

Someone’s gotta teach Crowder jab-jab-right cross. I would put that old man on his ass in a heartbeat. I noticed he was in the process of getting up. I would have liked to have seen the previous 10 seconds. Probably tried a swing at Crowder, missed and fell.

From the crack reporting at the Detroit Free Press:

“State Rep. David Rutledge, D-Ypsilanti, provided personal reason for opposing the legislation after telling of being shoved off a diner stool by a man who said he couldn’t sit there.

“I can’t begin to tell you what a humiliating experience that was. That changed the trajectory of my life,” he said. “At the moment I hit the floor, that man seemed to have all the rules on his side. At that moment, I decided I wanted to be where the rules are made.”

Eh, okay. Now what does that have to do with RTW again?

I fully expect the rhetoric to get more and more hyperbolic.

True, and for my part, were I in Mr. Crowder’s shoes I probably would have tried to retaliate in kind. However, discretion is often the better part of valor. Cameras were rolling, and while Mr. Crowder would no doubt have been right to defend himself, his meekness (note, this is NOT weakness) paints him in a very good light, whereas the union thugs make themselves look all the more thuggish.

Sometimes the braver and more manly thing to do is not respond in kind, to retaliate, but instead continue to shine a spotlight on ignorance by their continued actions.

Logus on December 11, 2012 at 4:24 PM

Cindy Munford on December 11, 2012 at 4:19 PM

Actually, what was on the ballot in November was far, far, far worse than just guaranteeing the existence of unions. It enshrined collective bargaining into our constitution and contained a host of provisions that would have vitiated other laws already on the books, including those that would allow for the firing of persons who pose a danger to others in certain cases. Not Coach posted a pretty good summation of it, but in short it would:

Grant public and private employees the constitutional right to organize and bargain collectively through labor unions.

Invalidate existing or future state or local laws that limit the ability to join unions and bargain collectively, and to negotiate and enforce collective bargaining agreements, including employees’ financial support of their labor unions. Laws may be enacted to prohibit public employees from striking.

Override state laws that regulate hours and conditions of employment to the extent that those laws conflict with collective bargaining agreements.

Define “employer” as a person or entity employing one or more employees.

MSNBC reporting…

“A tent set up by supporters of the measures also collapsed amid what authorities described as ‘pushing and shoving’ among protesters. No one was hurt, police said.”

Steven Crowder becomes George Zimmerman. MSNBC “might” show photos of Crowder’s injuries in 9 or 10 months. They are just now — occasionally — airing the photos of George “not-a-scratch-on-him” Zimmerman’s cut head and bloody, broken nose.

When they courts allowed the clearly un-Constitutional notion of the “closed-shop” (an illegal taking of private property, among other affronts to civilization, in general) they started this ball rolling. It’s time to cut these scum off. I would talk about the need for RICO prosecutions and many arrests of the violent thugs, but we all know that this adminsitration is allied with them in their determination to kill this society and we know that the cops and prosecutors always let the unions get away with anything and everything.

The old parasite argument.

I knew at least one union member would use that as to why they’re opposed to giving people the choice of union membership.

By his logic, he’s not allowed to enjoy anything unless he personally was a part of it.

His logic dictates conscription for all. You cannot enjoy the freedoms our military has given us unless you have been in the military and fought to preserve those freedoms.

Sorry women, you can’t vote unless you’ve marched on Washington and led suffrage protests.

Sorry blacks, you need to march from Selma in order to enjoy your civil liberties.

Imagine if someone with even the most tenuous support of the Tea Party said that. The MSM would screaming about racist armed militias, survivalists, the Klan, the Confederacy, and everything else.

Of course, too, Hoffa likely has armed security 24/7. He’ll be safe–maybe for a time if it comes to pass–but his rank-and-file agitators won’t. If such a thing does happen, and union thugs are met by equal force or numbers, they have no guarantee of winning.

I’m a big Crowder fan, but he missed two glorious opportunities here.

First, the fat, mouth-frothing slob goes down with a simple single-leg-with-foot-sweep (thereby, chopping down the big, bad tree), followed by some delicious GnP. Fat, big-mouthed pigs are always the easiest to beat down.

The other guy, punching Crowder, put his ugly libtard neck in a perfect position for an arm-in guillotine or a front collar choke (particularly with that horrifically unattractive 70s era coat…I’m sure it was union made).

President Obama invites a comedian to a WH party that has openly ranted about killing our soldiers and their families… and yet he invites him to a party and shakes his hand!

Will Boenher or any Republican leader take a public stand against this? Where are they?

This is so beyond outrage! This is absolute violence against us by the left and we are on our own!

They are freaking tearing our nation apart!
