We will talk and talk about this "cliff" but all that will get done are the things both sides agree on which is the doctor fee fix for medicare, the AMT fix so 28 million who did not withhold to pay the AMT rate do not get stuck and that taxes will not rise on the 98% of taxpayers. There is no agreement on anything else and so the rest of the sequester will go through as is. The only thing in doubt is how much the administration, Harry Reid and the MSM insist the GOP be humiliated and will they maximize that by letting the year end pass before they take the other measures above. Good governance would suggest you get it done before New Years; so it is almost a sure bet they will do it retroactively in the new year after the alleged calamity has been perpetrated and the public has been as agitated as much as possible.

a la Pappy......the republican party is a disgrace. Corker is a tool. To think that you would give any credence to the premise that if you raise rates as a concession you then "shift" the argument back to entitlement reform. Please......you are so stupid to even put out this stuff.

You are facing an Alinskyite Marxist Ideologue. He cares more about his politics than the country.

The "party" better get a Conservative Ideologue to negotiate that cares more about the country than his politics.

It really chafes my a$$ to see George Stephanopoulus pretend to be a journalist.

Corker gives an unequivocal statement: Social Security, Mediscare and Medicaid must all be reformed if the country's fixcal crisis is to be addressed. Stepsalotinit pretends to ask Stabenow a real question, to-wit: Is Corker correct, must these programs be reformed?

Sounds like a real question, doesn't it? But Stabenow refuses to answer the question, and tells Steppy she isn't going to answer it. Instead she goes off on a delusional effort to re-frame the question in terms of the Democrat/MSM narrative.

Steppy just smiles, and lets her get away with it.

How does Jake Tapper get away with snarking about "Republican operatives" manipulating the MSM, when he works alongside Stephanopoulus?

So long as the liberal, anti-Republican bias of the MSM and its ongoing distortions of the news cycle results in propaganda and false narratives , the country will continue to be worse than ignorant. It will be misinformed.

Unless Republicans understand this problem, and begin treating the MSM as the enemy agents of Democrats and Liberalism and Progressivism that they are, it isn't going to get any better. There has to be a coordinated strategy to marginalize and discredit tools like Stephanopoulus individually, and the MSM generally. (Republicans and Conservatives had better read Rules For Radicals and take a quick review of Obama-Axelrod strategy for manipulating the MSM narrative.)

Frankly, I don't think the Republicans have either the intelligence or the courage required for this essential mission.

I think we need to stop using this language of the left. Why are we continuing to use the terms and phraseology that were successful against us? Class warfare has worked...and our message needs to be repackaged before we can attempt to sell it again. Our vocabulary needs an overhaul, and Republicans and conservatives should start by dropping "the rich".

Why did Boehner remove 4 republicans from committee posts? Not rinoish enough? While I haven't looked up specifics for these 4 (Huelskamp, Amash, Schweikert & Jones), I did read generally that their voting records were more conservative.

I rarely watch Fox news any longer. What's the point? All 1 happy family of government media. Major Garrett went to ABC, CNN's John Roberts goes to Fox. Who's conservative there? Certainly not O'Reilly, Geraldo Rivera, or Megan Kelly who laughed her way through election night. Only 1 I listen to is Savage.

So I was thinking. If Boooosh had given a tax break to all but the top rate, and we pretend that there wasn't a negative impact on our economy, then today debt would be at 15.5 T instead of 16.2. Everything would be considered Rosie and B.O. would agree to extending those, ending his second term at only 21T in Debt.
