I suggest the Gov’t help to establish natural gas for domestic transportation. Cheaper transportation fuel prices would result… AND our trade surplus would benefit significantly by reduced oil imports and lower gasoline prices.

I’m not surprised that NERA/DOE answered the narrow question of “Send LNG away?” OR “Do nothing with the gas?” the way they did.

What they failed to do, what was purposely left out of the analysis, was to consider rational alternatives.

The RAGE is due to the fact that the DOE needed to have an independent ( Middle school economics model ) study done to come to it’s conclusion.

Be careful what you cheer for,if the DOE planted this study here now, there is a reason.

Lets use the natural gas at home, and encourage this industry and the break out of natural gas to some transportation and energy uses…like generating electricity.

I am not in favor of higher prices, I am in favor of plentiful supply, and THEN you export it. Right now we could use cheaper energy costs for our own electricity. I have read before that by changing some trucks to natural gas, it frees up regular gas to help with the price of oil based gas.

The DOE does not need to study to find out that our country will profit from additional drilling for oil…or for natural gas. What were they studying???

I don’t doubt that they already had their response to this “expected news”, planned out in advance.
“Something vague” will be discovered, that will make the exporting of LNG a “bad idea”, and on that basis it will be prohibited.
