Boehner doesn’t understand what it means to be Speaker of the House. He has a lot of power which he is willing to sacrifice to look good to someone, I’m not sure who. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is right now to have a leader in his position. He’s not it and he’s going to be steamrolled by the democrats and this President.

I’m curious – are you completely blind to the hypocrisy of the people you idolize? The progressive Dems demonized Romney and other Republicans over outsourcing, offshoring, tax rates for the wealthy, unions, and company closures/layoffs. And yet the companies you mention, and you can add GE and several others to this, that are run by progressives and support the Dem policies are the biggest offenders when it comes to not paying their taxes, shutting down US operations, and offshoring operations and jobs.
Progressives like Warren Buffet have already made their money by playing them tax avoidance game, and now favors taxing other people more – in ways that will not directly affect himself.

Just because they make smart business decisions to farm out part of their operations to no state tax, citizen hating Texas doesn’t mean that they aren’t completely dependent on the hard working imaginative people who want to be part of Silicon Valley. These successful people (add Warren Buffet to the mix) are mostly progressives – which means they should like unions and want to redistribute wealth and pay lots more in taxes and are against outsourcing and offshoring – but yet they set up their own businesses to take advantage of low tax and non-union states and low pay / low tax countries – so they can make more money for themselves without paying out as much.
I call that a hypocrit – or someone who has already made their money and don’t want any competition.

Texas has no income tax – so they hate their people?
So of course because California is increasing taxes, they must love their people?
And nobody would want to live in TX when they could live in CA – but people and companies are leaving CA in droves, and the population of TX (people and companies) is climbing.

I don’t doubt Republicans will get dinged up a bit, but Democrats will too, and they have a lot more to lose.

I see House Republicans get blasted by the MSM for about a week, similar to the payroll tax extension snafu, but the Obama and Senate Democrats own this economy moving forward, and people are going to be pissed if Obama’s reelection means a big middle class tax increase.

House Republicans are also so gerrymandered for the coming decade that it’s going to be nearly impossible to take it back. If it was going to happen, it would have happened in the 2012 election.

I honestly hope a deal doesn’t come, Obama is slitting his own throat here.

The real issue is that We are winning! The GOP hads all of the money and the moochers on the Left want it. Everyday that b=goes by we consolodate our power with companies becoming less and less unionized and more businesses moving to States like Texas to do business. At some point they will collapse by the weight of their nothingness.

Just keep fighting the good fight and we will win despite the MSM and Dem’s claims.

In order for people to be capable of self-rule, there’s a few things which need to happen… Citizens must be educated, understanding the issues as well as the philosophies behind them. They must be responsible in the execution of their civic duties as well as in maintaining order in their personal lives. And they be moral, sharing a relatively common sense of right and wrong.

For decades now, so-called “liberals” have undermined everything that makes us capable of self-rule. They’ve indoctrinated our children, not only in the schoolhouse but through the culture, so that now we have generations of people who no longer have the capacity to govern themselves.

Of course, this means that our founding philosophy really has died. I would have thought never to see Reagan’s warning come true in my lifetime… but it has. He was right.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

We’ve lost the country. It no longer stands for anything. Citizens are no longer free, they are merely allowed the illusion of freedom, as each of us is subject to government control right down to the very inner workings of our bodies. The most troubling aspect of this past election, at least for me, was the death of my faith in my fellow citizen. While one can sense the truth and the urgency in Reagan’s admonition above, I just never truly believed it could happen… that Americans could forget who they are. But they did, and all it took was a few decades of controlling our schools and television sets.

I don’t know if it will make you feel any better or not, but people who don’t have the capacity for self-rule simply don’t deserve it. If we’re dealing with a population that is essentially ignorant, irresponsible, and immoral it’s just not even a possibility. Weirdly, that made me feel a little better, a little less ripped-off somehow. Being a person who is grounded in reality, it’s easier to turn loose of an impossible hope. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not incredibly sad or that we don’t continue to strive for better.

Going forward, the obvious thing to do would be to get back to basics and rectify the above situation. We need to educate our citizens, encourage civic responsibility and moral behavior. We need to root the progressives out of our schools and homes. To do that, we must work at the state and local level. Step one would be to destroy the public unions who control our schools. Step two would be to put pressure on media outlets controlling the culture. Imagine what a blow it would be if cable and satellite companies sold channels ala carte. Kind of hard to shovel the filth into people’s homes if they have to sit down and think about what’s coming in, huh?

Bottom line is that it’s going to take a good ground game in the States to turn this thing around. We’re back to square one in terms of Liberty. And while it’s do-able.. it’s going to be a heck of a challenge.

I am trying to conjure up what kind of mind thinks that way…
