Bad news: Turns out it’s sexist and racist to criticize Susan Rice for giving bad information to the public

posted at 7:05 pm on November 16, 2012 by Allahpundit

Here’s the most cynical thing you’ll see on the Internet today. I’m tempted to call it stupid, but it’s not: The charge is stupid but it’s leveled in service to a clever goal, framing Rice’s prospective nomination as Secretary of State as a referendum on racism and sexism. McCain is the target for daring to suggest that she’s unqualified and maybe “not … very bright” for buying the White House’s early line on Benghazi, which required her to feed the public ridiculous disinformation about how “substantial” our nearly nonexistent security presence in Benghazi was. If you vote no at her confirmation hearing, it’s not because you want to send a message to O about not lying to Americans. It’s because you hate women and minorities. Republicans, in fact, have already started to tone down the attacks on her, whether because they don’t want to have to deal with this nonsense or because, more likely, they realize that Rice is a footnote to the larger Benghazi inquiry and they don’t want to get bogged down with her.

Two clips for you here, one of today’s press conference by House Democrats and one of Kirsten Powers (via the Daily Caller) demonstrating that not every liberal is willing to give the White House and its diplomatic corps a free pass to lie in the name of tolerance. She makes a good point in her op-ed today too: Why are liberals ignoring how badly Obama has treated Rice here? She had nothing to do with Benghazi, yet he plucked her from her post as ambassador to the UN, briefed her with defective intel, and then sent her out to do damage control as the face of the administration. Like I said yesterday, he could have sent Carney or Robert Gibbs or some other full-time flack but he chose Rice, I assume, because he wanted to leverage the extra gravitas of her position. She’s worked in diplomacy for years, yet now she’s famous chiefly for being the White House’s designated stooge in its biggest counterterrorism failure. Way to do right by a loyal deputy, champ. You’re a real feminist hero. Click the image to watch.

Whenever somebody in Congress screams, racism, racism, racism, they always seem to be from the BCC. Why is that? And who put these moronic women in congress so they can be paid with OUR tax dollars and get impeccable benefits, pension, etc. Our government is broken!

When they play the race card…

This guy from Dallas is one of the best race card dealers in the country:

“So if it’s ‘angel food cake,’ it’s white. If it’s ‘devil’s food cake,’ it’s black. If you’re the ‘black sheep of the family,’ then you gotta be bad, you know. ‘White sheep,’ you’re okay. You know?”

– John Wiley Price

He’s the one that demanded an apology from his fellow councilman, who is white and used the scientific term “black hole” to describe how things just disappeared in City Hall.

If you guys want to read some funny shyt, I’ve collected quotes by Democrats over the years. It’s like the “I Can’t Believe Anyone Is That Dumb Hall of Fame”:

Maybe I suggest Obama et al have found the buttons to push in the electorate, buttons that when pushed, lead to them gaining power, and so have given up ANY sincere attempt to put forward practical and workable policy proposals. They are all actors putting on a performance. I don’t even know who Obama is, beyond posing, preening, baiting.

this is just another red herring. Of course it makes sense to send this woman out there because any criticism of the content of Rice’s statement can be hidden behind the racist/sexist canard. Nevermind the content of her statement, which was wrong, its all about her.

I don’t disagree with you but want to make a distinction here.

Susan Rice did not make a mistake. She deliberately lied her ass off (on five Sunday talk shows) about what happened at the US consulate in Benghazi in the hopes the story would go away in the next week’s news cycle. She’s the Ambassador to the UN- she isn’t even the person who should be interviewed about a bunch of Muslim animals sodomizing and killing our ambassador to Libya!

arnold ziffel on November 16, 2012 at 8:42 PM

OK!

Let me see if I understand this argument from these ladies. Because Susan Rice is a female and of a certain minority that is not Asian, we should all realize that she automatically doesn’t know what she’s talking about and automatically not criticize her.

That argument sounds racist and sexist to me.

Reminds me of a Dallas City Counsel meeting several years ago when a Councilman (yes he was a male) of a minority race that is not Asian, found the word “niggardly” to be racist. When explained to him that the word “niggardly” meant stingy, he replied that the person that uttered the word should have realized that the offended councilman would not know what the word meant and would therefor be offended.

Anyone know where I can read this dissertation?

MichaelGabriel on November 16, 2012 at 8:44 PM

Serious question-

It is clear that the left is going to defend Susan Rice by pointing out that she is a black woman. She will remain silent as her friends further the idea that she is a victim of racism and sexism even though the real problem is that she got caught lying her ass off about the deaths of four Americans at Benghazi and what the administration knew and did about it.

When will one of these minorities stand up and demand that they are judged on their record and not their race? Susan Rice has had a long career in diplomacy. And yet, she’s content to let her entire worth as a diplomat come down to what she knew when she lied her ass off on Sunday talk shows on a given September weekend. There were probably fewer viewers to her shame than there were to the video she claimed resulted in the deaths of four Americans at Benghazi. Yet instead of wanting to be considered for SecState based on her record she is content to let the charges of racism and sexism stand.

OK, someone needs to ask liberals, especially black ones, how you can criticize their policies without being racist. There has got to be a non-racist procedure for this. Maybe it’s time for them to post the procedure we could follow on the NAACP website or something.

“The Correct Non-Racist Procedure for Disagreeing with Policy Positions or Statements Made by African American Politicians, African American Bureaucrats and African American Political Candidates”

Put the blasted thing up on the website so that once and for all we all know what this freaking procedure is so that we can get past this racist crap and get to the issues. This is just a big freaking joke! Somebody has got to ask these people if how we go about it! Is it ever non -racist to criticize a black politician? Is it ever not racist to disagree with a black politician? Yes or no! If it’s possible than what are the words we are to use? Would somebody just tell us and answer this big freaking mystery!

I’m not trying to insult your intelligence but it was not by chance that five Sunday talk shows got the same spokesperson. This was orchestrated by the administration. They wanted somebody to go out there and lie their ass off about what happened. Anybody in the mix with real knowledge refused. have we heard any more updates on the ‘black ops site’
that the tart told of in denver and
‘griffin and herridge’ reported on…Fox
i believe that is the reason for the coverup…
everyone knew this was a black CIA site…but Rice..
she was the only dupe left to spout talking points
with a serious face….

The Dems just picked the wrong Rice. Condoleezza was too strong to crumble under criticism. Shame that Susan is such a fragile little thing.

Marcia Fudge?!?!? You’re kidding, right? And why is food such a popular theme with this issue? You got your Fudge, you got your Rice (two kinds), an earlier thread suggested that Rice II is either ‘small potatoes’ or ‘toast’…

The fact they don’t understand the simple truth that we on the Right don’t like the Left’s arrogant and dictatorial politics, and couldn’t care less whatever sex or race their tyrants might be, only works to show what their tiny and uncreative minds are fixated on.

that fixation also discounts the achievements
that ppl of color have everyday…
when i worked at JPL on the new mars rover MSL…
the man who sat next to me was black…he designed
the rover spooling device that lowered the rover to
the surface of mars….the man who sat across from me
full Navajo indian designed parts of the Sam module..
next to him was a Mexican man…designing the martian sample
sifter devise….were all these bright men working simply
because of the color of their skin..???
im not buying it….each was a bright designer…period…
no color…no race….no sex….just a man doing a job…

About that giving “bad information to the public” on a national security issue which Republicans are suddenly very concerned about? Yeah. Four words.

Pat Tillman. Jessica Lynch.

I mean there are more examples. In fact, do you guys remember the news stories when it came out and the Bush Administration ADMITTED to using the practices the CIA regularly performs in other countries, but is barred by law from performing in the United States on the American population, actual phsycological operations aimed to spread disinformation? Of course, they said the way they used it the American people would support if they had known and it was for the good of the country.

But still. Were you outraged and speaking out then? Would you again if the foot was back on the other foot?

In the second debate, Obama claimed that he called the attack a terrorist attack in his Rose Garden statement the morning after the attack. Now he says he sent Rice out to lie about what happened five days later. So he hung Rice out to dry. KP asked the right question: “Why are liberals ignoring how badly Obama has treated Rice here?”

Gotta’ learn the exploit-routes the Left predictabl, continually drives: the medium is the message.

So when “the old, white guy” (he fits that, Left’s negative stereotype) McCain delivers reality, truth as there about Rice and Rice poor job performance (or, not “poor” but compromised, not acceptable, failed), the Left exploits their negative stereotype route: “McCain” (because he’s the “old, white guy”).

Everyone else recognizes what the Left is doing, they recognize Left is guilty as sin in this situation, that Rice is, that Obama is, but the Left can’t adit it BECAUSE they’re guilty and have failed. THUS, they exploit negative stereotypes.

Why are liberals ignoring how badly Obama has treated Rice here? She had nothing to do with Benghazi, yet he plucked her from her post as ambassador to the UN, briefed her with defective intel, and then sent her out to do damage control as the face of the administration.

Obama has a life history of enlisting standins to be his foil. He sets up these false-fronters to be his excuses when he needs them later. He uses people. Women, yes, he uses them but he also uses men and anyone he can fit into any stereotype that’s usefl to what his stereotypical maneuver is.

The fake doctors standing behind him at his speech about Ocare from the Rose Garden. His wife. Jarrett with Iran. Hillary schlepping globally. His own mother and grandmother…

I haven’t heard anything, but I may have missed it.

I’m not convinced Rice was a dupe. She may have known full well what she was doing. None of those people seem to have any integrity so I don’t know to what extent Obama tries to deceive any of them. He may do it if he perceives some as his enemy, such as Hillary, or he may do it merely because it’s his nature to deceive.

I agree but my point was that whatever or whoever the ACCURATE criticism, observation is, the LEft resorts to exploiting those “routes” they lay down based upon negative stereotypes.

If it’s a Black male who makes the observation, the Left smears him as some various “sell out to his race” or similar.

If it’s a young female who makes it, she’s shredded as “a stupid cracker”…an older male such as McCain, smeared (because) he’s “the old, white guy…”

The Left exploits these negative stereotypes to avoid acknowledging their failure or even responsibility for a failure.

I’m not telling most here anything new, I realize.
