If Boehner and McConnell don’t deal with this now, while they have 2 years to explain it to the electorate, it will never be dealt with. Just tell Reid and Obama no, but tell them now so they have time to actually negotiate something. Let’s face it, it’s too late now to have much in the way of negotiations. THey should not pass anything thrown at them by the Democrats in a “my way or the highway fashion”

Except that that approach isn’t going to work much longer. We’re nearly at the end of the road, it’s only about a month and a half away, and the worst president in history (worst by a LONG shot) was just reelected.

It’s a very serious threat to the Republicans, especially since the economy was about all they really stood for this last time. And they can certainly count on the media to blame the Republicans in the House for the poor economy.

Of course, the problem is that the media will be blaming the Republicans whether they agree to a tax hike or not. So agreeing to the tax hike seems like an escape, but it really gains absolutely nothing at all. There’s only one way for Republicans to win, and that is to dig in their feet and refuse to raise taxes at all. Instead, defund everything until the Democrats are unable to pay off their constituencies.

The Republicans should put together a “crisis package” that funds only the most essential government services, and nothing else. Defund the EPA, defund the Dept of Education, defund the Department of the Interior, and cut 10% of everything else but the Dept of Defense, who only get a 5% cut.

The only power the House has at this point is the power of the purse. It’s time they use it.

I’m talking about the Court. The Supreme Court has ruled many times that treaties — even those that have been ratified by the Senate — do not trump the Constitution. I gave you one citation. Would you like more?

Except Obama wasn’t swept in on a mandate. The money spent for the reelection was all about him.

So we have the House….

And 30 governships, of which many are voting to not participate with Obamacare….

And 83.2% of the counties in the U.S. that did not vote for Obama….

he just has the upper hand in the negotiations because he’ll get to look reasonable while the gop demands tax cuts for the rich.

It’s best it you throw gasoline on the flames by applying for any and all Federal programs for which you might be eligible and take all the money they offer, as long as you don’t have to pay it back and you can tie up the bureaucracy for as long as possible and as often as possible.

No duh! The whole point of my post is that the sanctity of the Constitution is…shall we say, not so beloved, or even relavent , to The Progressive in Chief that currently “occupies” the presidency.

The treaties with Poland and Czechland basing our ABM systems were ratified and signed by a sitting president(Bush)and constitutionally require the House & Senate to unratify(?), Obama simply did away with them with a midnight phone call to the respective leaders of Poland & Czechland.

The primary target of progressives is the constitution nd it’s eventual demise. Each of the progressive presidents said as much, Wilson, FDR, LBJ. Obama was up front about it till he ran for office and there are several interviews he gave on the net saying as much.

Don’t be silly. A bill to repeal the 22nd has been before the house since before he even moved into the White House, and trust me, whatever leverage/bribery/blackmail that can be brought to bear from The Oval, will. And with a vegeance at that.

You need 38 states to ratify an amendment to the COTUS. Good luck with that, especially concerning the 22nd Amendment so that Obama could run again. He didn’t win 38 states and he would NEVER get close to it for repeal purposes.

And, yes, he could be stopped since the states control who is qualifies for their ballot.
