BTW, Generalissimo Obama, this is what can happen when you abandon an ally to their fate.

Once they determine they are on their own and surrounded by enemies and steadily growing threats they conclude it is better to strike earlier rather than later. Most likely operational plans for Iran have been finalized and a drop dead date set. A prudent plan would first preemptively strike and degrade potential sources of retaliation before taking on Iran.
