Yep: Eric Holder to stay on as Obama’s attorney general

posted at 1:01 pm on November 13, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

For a moment there, I was tempted to write that I am flabbergasted by the level of brazen contemptuousness that Obama & Friends somehow rarely fail to display, but on second thought, no — hardly anything that they do surprises me anymore. They do this stuff all the time: Instead of gently learning their lessons and backing away from mistakes, failures, and consequences, they just forge right on ahead with them, audaciously plowing through like nothing is the matter, so we’re all eventually forced to stop being outraged and just get on with it. Billions of taxpayer dollars lost on the government’s venture-socialist, crony “investments” in green energy? More, please! Trillions in stimulus over four years giving us the same unemployment rate we started with, but after countless more joined the welfare rolls? We clearly just haven’t spent enough. Mind-numbing mismanagement (and that’s just what we’ve been able to prove it was) from the leader of the Department of Justice leads to the deaths of at least two Americans and countless Mexicans? He deserves a second shot, obviously.

Anybody else might have just the tiniest inkling of shame and use the opportunity of typical second-term cabinet reshuffling as an opportunity to just bow out gracefully, but no — no quitting while they’re behind for these guys. The NY Post reports:

President Obama is holding on to Eric Holder as the nation’s top law-enforcement official, The Post has learned.

The newly re-elected president asked his controversial attorney general to stay for the second term, and Holder has agreed despite enduring a firestorm of criticism from Republican lawmakers.

“I don’t know if everyone in the White House wants him [Holder] to stay, but the important guy does, and that’s all that matters,” said one person briefed on the matter.

So not only is President Obama considering pretty much promoting Ambassador Susan Rice to Secretary of State after they sent her out to spin tall tales about “videos” and “spontaneous protests” after four Americans died in the 9/11/12 attacks in Benghazi (although, perhaps that level of committed dutifulness is precisely what Obama’s looking for), but now he’s re-upping the tenure of an attorney general who has — at best – proven his utter incompetence in running his department and that he somehow managed to stay miraculously uninformed about major but apparently pointless and ill-conceived gunwalking operations. Why don’t you just give America a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it, while you’re at it?

Not only did Romney decrease his chances of winning by refusing to go after FF, but he also made it possible for the worst AG ever to try to stay on for another term. The GOP had better do everything in its power to stop this appointment. And if anyone was wondering whether or not Obama would seek to compromise or even give an inch in any negotiation, here’s your answer.

besser tot als rot on November 13, 2012 at 1:23 PM

Good news. House Republicans will keep him on the hot seat.

And Rice? Mind-boggling, if true.

Obama seems unconcerned about the consequences in 2014 of a hard left turn, higher taxes and more regulations, killing domestic energy, stagnant economy at best and the inevitable disclosures of corruption that they have been concealing until after the election. In fact, I expect the whole crew to set busily to work sticking their thumbs in our eyes with sneering condescension.

And Democrats will not have the advantages of Wonder Boy and his Magic GOTV Machine leading the ticket.

Some somewhat good news. Sortuv…….

President Barack Obama has won re-election. However, in addition to all of the constraints on him that I discussed last week, he won the election with almost half the people voting against him. His win in the Electoral College was substantial — and that’s the win that really matters — but the popular vote determines how he governs, and he will govern with one more constraint added to the others. The question is whether this weakens him or provides an opportunity. That is not determined by his policies but by the strategic situation, which, in my view, gives the United States some much-needed breathing room.

AG Holder, UN Amb Rice as Sec State, and not mentioned in this piece, John Friggin’ Kerry as Sec Defense? Should we be paying extra close attention to Republican Senators when it comes to conformation hearings? The good ol’ boy GOP stalwarts are in this problen too. Holder won’t need confirmation this time of course.
