Feinstein: Maybe the FBI should have told us about the Petraeus probe

posted at 5:01 pm on November 11, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

You think? As chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Diane Feinstein and her committee have to be informed of any event of significance involving intelligence from all federal agencies, as Chris Wallace points out during the interview. Feinstein specifically replies that the FBI failed to tell them that they had the Director of the CIA as a target of an investigation for potential national-security breaches. That’s precisely the kind of circumstances under which the chair and vice-chair of the two Congressional intel committees need to be briefed — and Feinstein says that in similar circumstances in the past, they were:

Will Feinstein subpoena David Petraeus? She doesn’t rule it out, but Feinstein says both she and vice-chair Saxby Chambliss are satisfied with having deputy director Mike Morrell testify in his place. That tells me that the committee has less interest in Petraeus’ personal actions than in the organizational response of the CIA, to which Morrell would be more than qualified to testify.

However, when asked directly by Wallace whether the Obama administration had enough warning before the attack on September 11th to prompt them to beef up security in Banghazi, Feinstein goes further and notes that these weren’t just warnings — they were actual attacks on Western targets in the city, as well as on our own. “That, to me,” Feinstein says, “is sufficient intelligence on which to make a decision.”

As far as the shifting stories from the White House go, Feinstein doesn’t believe they were politically driven — but she does question the competence of the people who were confused about the nature of the attack for so long. Feinstein echoes John McCain when she says, “The minute you know mortars are used, the minute you know RPGs are used, it’s either a terrorist attack or a military attack. Those are the only two things it could be. … It’s pretty clear the minute mortars show up, the minute RPGs show up, you have a terrorist attack.” Wallace asks why the President continued to talk about the YouTube video for more than a week with that in mind, and Feinstein says that she feels that the proper assessment could have been made much earlier — which is why she wants access to all of the data that came through before, during, and after the attack.

Maybe the FBI has little faith in the Intelligence committee keeping this confidential during an election cycle?

I know they are suppose to be impartial, but these committee people leak stuff all the time.

Diane Feinstein can SAY anything, she can SOUND like she’s really going to get to the bottom of this scandal, (and I’m sure that little Lib lover, Mike Wallace bought her act) but she’s not going to “uncover” anything that will reflect unpleasantly upon the boy king. I’m so tired of conservative pundits, (except a very few at FOX) taking Democrats at their word, and always giving them the benefit of the doubt! Even when they KNOW they’ve been lied to in the past, and are more than likely being lied to at that moment, they still nod their heads and say, “Oh, O.K.” I’m so darn tired of all this political B.S..

Forget about Benghazi. Don’t those circumstances alone seem kind of unsettling?

Official identifies 2nd woman in Petraeus affair
— Nov. 11 5:51 PM EST
**********************

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior U.S. military official says the author who had an affair with David Petraeus sent harassing emails to a woman who was a “social liaison” to military bases in Tampa, Fla.

The official says 37-year-old Jill Kelley in Tampa, Fla., received the emails from Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell that triggered an FBI investigation.

The official was not authorized to discuss the case publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Another person who knows Kelley and Petraeus confirmed their friendship.

Petraeus quit as CIA director last week after acknowledging an extramarital relationship with a woman — later identified as Broadwell.

The FBI probe began several months ago with a complaint against Broadwell. That investigation led to Broadwell’s email account, which uncovered the relationship with Petraeus.

I don’t believe this woman..
She said that Petraeus knew of the attack on our Consulate but because of his position in the CIA..couldn’t talk to the press.

Petraeus isn’t part of the military anymore..
I don’t think he had any ability to monitor surveillance footage from the drones or the cameras on the ground at our Consulate. AfriCom does.

But he said the attack was because of a protest that when too far..
Petraeus wouldn’t have known that. He was told to say that.

Yes, I understand that there was a CIA Anex a mile away…but they wouldn’t have known of any protest that got out-of-control.
All they heard was gun fire and got on the roof to see what was happening.

I could really care less about the affair, and I don’t think this has anything to do with Benghazi. All I see is a widely-respected general who was removed from the military and assigned to CIA, when knowledge of this affair surely must have already been known within high-ranking circles. Now that O has his second term, Petraeus’ presence could only serve as a point of resistance to the implementation of O’s foreign policy agenda in the military and intelligence communities, so Eric Holder’s FBI is making the affair public now and Petraeus is being forced to resign in disgrace.

Report: FBI agent’s call didn’t affect Petraeus-Broadwell investigation – @NBCNews

================================================

FBI agent’s call didn’t affect Petraeus-Broadwell probe, official tells NBC News
1 Hr. Ago
*********

An FBI agent’s call to a congressional staffer had no effect on the investigation of CIA Director David Petraeus and Paula Broadwell or the timing of the disclosure to James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, a senior law enforcement official tells NBC News.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., has suggested that if not for the agent’s call, the matter might never have been disclosed, or at least, not when it was revealed.

But the official insists that’s not the case.

“I was contacted by an FBI employee concerned that sensitive, classified information may have been compromised and made certain (FBI Director Robert) Mueller was aware of these serious allegations and the potential risk to our national security,” Cantor said in a statement.

Petraeus resigned on Friday from the CIA post, citing an extramarital affair.

The official says the call to Capitol Hill came from an agent who was initially involved in the investigation but who was later removed from the case because he knew an associate of one of the people being investigated.

The agent knew someone on the Hill and called that person, a Republican staffer, according to the official. But that phone call had no effect on either the course of the investigation, the involvement of the FBI’s Mueller — who was following it closely long before Cantor called him — or the decision to notify Clapper, the official says.(More…)

How I Was Drawn Into the Cult of David Petraeus
November 11 2012-9:05AM
***********************

When it came out that CIA Director David Petraeus had an affair with his hagiographer, I got punked. “It seems so obvious in retrospect. How could you @attackerman?” tweeted @bitteranagram, complete with a link to a florid piece I wrote for this blog when Petraeus retired from the Army last year. (“The gold standard for wartime command” is one of the harsher judgments in the piece.) I was so blind to Petraeus, and my role in the mythmaking that surrounded his career, that I initially missed @bitteranagram’s joke.

But it’s a good burn. Like many in the press, nearly every national politician, and lots of members of Petraeus’ brain trust over the years, I played a role in the creation of the legend around David Petraeus. Yes, Paula Broadwell wrote the ultimate Petraeus hagiography, the now-unfortunately titled All In. But she was hardly alone. (Except maybe for the sleeping-with-Petraeus part.) The biggest irony surrounding Petraeus’ unexpected downfall is that he became a casualty of the very publicity machine he cultivated to portray him as superhuman. I have some insight into how that machine worked.(More…………….)

People are moving through the gates.” CIA officers at the base can hear the alarm, and a team immediately begins gathering weapons and preparing to leave.

He may not have been the one to tell Obama how to tie his own shoes, but that doesn’t mean that Petraeus wasn’t aware of what was going on.

Yes, she wants answers. But she won’t demand them from any high ranking Democrat.

So, she could basically give a f*^%

docflash on November 11, 2012 at 6:47 PM

I am still amazed by this little film. A film that nobody in the US seemed to know about or care about was to cause mass “protests” and violence around the muslim world on September 11th. And nobody seemed to know about this or take adequate measures. Seems like they all must have known, hard to keep all these big protests a total secret. Where did Nakoula’s funding really come from? What was the goal? It’s so damn murky.

But Paula Broadwell knows when Petraeus knew. And if Petraeus knew quickly so did every body else. Why does Paula know the timeline anyway and if she does this is quite a deception.

Loose lips, Paula.

CNBC Exec’s Children Murdered, 1 Day After CNBC Reports $43 Trillion Bankster Lawsuit
October 27, 2012
****************

This week financial news organization CNBC gave some mainstream attention to the largest money laundering and racketeering lawsuit in United States History, in which “Banksters” and their U.S. racketeering partners are being accused of laundering of 43 trillion dollars worth of ill gotten gains.

The lawsuit is said to involve officials located in the highest offices of government and the financial sector.

Since this information was surprisingly revealed by the mainstream news organization there has been a
very suspicious and deadly fallout at the CNBC headquarters.

Within hours the original page for the article was taken down, and CNBC senior vice president Kevin Krim received news that his children were killed under very suspicious circumstances.

It seems that the murder happened first and then the page was removed later.

According to mainstream accounts the children’s nanny is responsible for the murders, allegedly stabbing both children.

However, those same mainstream news sources report the highly unlikely story that the nanny slit her own throat just after committing the homicides.

Police have released very little information and although a wider plot has not been officially implicated, it seems very possible that these murders are a show of force against the press organization for releasing such damning information about the most powerful people in the world.

Here is some more information about the lawsuit from the Wall Street Journal:

“In the District Court lawsuit, Spire Law Group, LLP — on behalf of home owner across the Country and New York taxpayers, as well as under other taxpayer recompense laws — has expanded its mass tort action into federal court in Brooklyn, New York, seeking to halt all foreclosures nationwide pending the return of the $43 trillion ($43,000,000,000,000.00) by the “Banksters” and their co-conspirators, seeking an audit of the Fed and audits of all the “bailout programs” by an independent receiver such as Neil Barofsky, former Inspector General of the TARP program who has stated that none of the TARP money and other “bailout money” advanced from the Treasury has ever been repaid despite protestations to the contrary by the Defendants as well as similar protestations by President Obama and the Obama Administration both publicly on national television and more privately to the United States Congress.

Because the Obama Administration has failed to pursue any of the “Banksters” criminally, and indeed is actively borrowing monies for Mr. Obama’s campaign from these same “Banksters” to finance its political aspirations, the national group of plaintiff home owners has been forced to now expand its lawsuit to include racketeering, money laundering and intentional violations of the Iranian Nations Sanctions and Embargo Act by the national banks included among the “Bankster” Defendants. “

Some of the alleged conspirators are Attorney General Holder, Assistant Attorney General Tony West, the brother in law of Defendant California Attorney General Kamala Harris, Jon Corzine (former New Jersey Governor), Robert Rubin (former Treasury Secretary and Bankster), Timothy Geitner, Treasury Secretary, Vikram Pandit (recently resigned and disgraced Chairman of the Board of Citigroup), Valerie Jarrett (a Senior White House Advisor), Anita Dunn (a former “communications director” for the Obama Administration), Robert Bauer (husband of Anita Dunn and Chief Legal Counsel for the Obama Re-election Campaign), as well as the “Banksters” themselves, and their affiliates and conduits.

It is expected that all news on this subject will be removed from CNBC, and that other news organizations will be discouraged from covering such information.

However, screen shots of the original CNBC article

http://theintelhub.com/2012/10/27/cnbc-execs-children-murdered-1-day-after-cnbc-reports-43-trillion-bankster-lawsuit/

were taken to verify the authenticity of this story.

Assassination and brute intimidation are common strategies for the ruling class to use on people who may threaten their agenda.

This is the second situation this week in which a high level executive was the victim of a suspicious attack that seemed very much like an assassination.

The Intel Hub just reported that Nicholas Mockford, a 60 year old British executive for the oil company ExxonMobil was shot dead in front of his wife in an assassination-style killing in Brussels.

We will be keeping a close eye on both of these stories and provide more details as they become available.

Note: You can read the lawsuit here.

And while we have 4 years to watch the fire, wouldn’t it be nice to start a movement for term limits?

JPeterman on November 11, 2012 at 6:38 PM

Four years for Congress and four for the president too. Can’t get it right in four years? You’re out. Why should they get any special consideration, we’d be out in 4 months if we couldn’t get anything done. Besides, this campaigning every two years for one post or another is insanity. You get four years, then you’re out. That might keep the crooks at bay, like Pelosi, Reid, etc. etc. etc.

Obama wants this statehood thing. Ultimately the “Innocence of Muslims” flick and the well orchestrated protests (that nobody knew about) was to hurt Israel. After all the great insult was funded by hundreds of nameless, faceless jews, right. Look, America, see how the jews hurt the nation?

My BiL says throat slitting is not the way a woman would typically choose to off herself. He cited the many variables and things to consider. He is skeptical.

I asked him if he ever had a case where someone had slit his/her throat, and he said, “No.” He did CSI for a couple decades and was a Deputy Coroner when he got sick.
