Paul Ryan is, and shall remain, one of the few voices of sanity in Washington. He becomes the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2016 right away. The party must not nominate another me-too moderate if it wishes to survive. And it must not change its message with regard to minority groups that were bought off by the Democrats, but the party must do a better job of communicating its message. Conservatism will work if you find the right messenger. Romney is not a conservative, nor was he the right messenger.

Read Dennis Miller comments on Romney as they are spot on. 0bama and the left won with Alinsky methods using smear and fear tactics that worked. For now, Ryan will do best with being in 0bamas face with budget details and pushing House plan after plan on big 0 and Reid until fiscal sanity is restored or 2016, whichever comes first. Reid will be up for election and hopefully, so will Ryan. We need to drop the whole stupid abortion crap and just say sorry, the taxpayers won't pay for it and move on. We need to focus on economy, fixing entitlements and keeping a strong military that isn't always being depleted to create muslim theocracies. Last but not least be very conservative economically. Socially , encourage personal responsibility but don't mandate it. And drop the Bush crap. That family has done more than enough to wreck our economy with out of control entitlements and also weakening our military.

The left were having similarly unproductive pissing matches after the 2010 elections. It's our turn. Goes with the territory.

As for a third party... yeah, well... that's just not a serious argument. Hey, if you can't win an argument within your own party, with people at least willing to consider your opinions, do you think you have an argument that is going to sway the Obama phone, free cheese, open borders, tax the 1% until they bleed group? IF you're actually serious about what the Tea Party stands for, you have to be smart, not just angry.

Candidates that make us feel good about what they "stand for", but have no chance of getting elected in the general, leave us where we are.

Look, I love the Tea Party. I've been to rallies. I've contributed to its causes, and I want it to remain a force. But hissy fits aren't going to get it done. When we replace an electable candidate who we don't agree with (i.e. can't control) with a substitute who gets whooped in the general... ugh.

Get and/or develop better candidates. Look into cloning Ted Cruz... just saying.

Already was offered the Speakership in 2010 and basically declined. I think the last election suggests that he has bigger ambitions than Speaker.

Illinidiva on November 7, 2012 at 7:59 PM

Then they should go back to him and say "See where Boehner got us? The House GOP leadership is now toothless! If you don't want to lead as Speaker, tell us who's better suited for the job!"

Obama could be committing treasonous acts that make Nixon look like Jesus, and Boehner would be going "Yawn. What's the next pork-barrel project?"

That's a non starter, for many reasons.

Walker, Jindal, Allen West, Palin, Pence, DeMint. Any combo should work.

Umm that only works because of the medis. They're willing to shill for Barry, but are willing to point out Rubio's vapidness. And I only voted for Romney in the primaries because the others were not serious contenders who would damage the GOP immensely. I will not vote for Rubio ever because he is basically Obama and I hate Obama.

I was voting for change, and I do need a change, I would like Paul Ryan to be Speaker of the House...I would like to see others too, as Speaker. Boehner is the old face of the House, and I want a change.

I think that with the MSM tv programing working against the conservative point of view, that the 501c's should advertise, "teach" conservative values and civics lessons on tv commercials. It would be worth more than the wasted commercials when the airwaves are saturated. People start to tune out those ads.

And we need to get the activities of the house into ads too, let people phone in their opinion or direct them to go online when a bill is introduced. That Saturday morning comment, but in prime time, everyone ignores those Saturday a.m. things, its from the earlier radio eras. Fast and Furious, it wasn't on the news, but someone should have paid for the time and got in into the news. Benghazi...things they won't cover on the MSM news because it doesn't fit their narrative of us conservatives being...Whatever.
