Y'all can talk about all the turnout problems all you want. The fact is the rhinos couldn't get a candidate that could beat the worst pres we have had in a long time. We are done with the republican party until new leadership is in place. Otherwise we will vote 3rd party or not vote at all. Too many losers being put up as candidates.

A side note about my prediction a couple of months ago, a majority of catholics voted for obama. So much for all the hoopla about abortion and freedom of religion.

This election proved that our country is lost. A majority voted for the one that will give them stuff. When people this stupid vote, there is no hope.

Here's my TOP 10 REASONS why Romney lost.

1) He was a Liberal with a liberal record. History has repeatedly shown that Republicans WIN when they run as conservatives and have a history of standing on their conservative principles. History shows that Republicans lose when they try to run in the center because they want to appeal to Democrats (who won’t vote for them anyway) and Independents. Hint: YOU CAN’T OUT-DEMOCRAT THE DEMOCRATS. They’re NEVER going to vote for you no matter how much you say your agenda is the SAME as theirs.

2) He was FORCED down our throats by RNC party hacks who Romney had spent the last 4 years smoozing. Nothing says "I'm an establishment Republican" better than being rammed down your throat by establishment Republicans!

3) He ran a SCORCHED EARTH primary campaign where he said terrible things about his so-called "fellow Republicans" and then proceeded to NOT say terrible things about Obama. He showed contempt for other Republicans and the principles that they stood for. This let a bad taste for him with a lot of voters.

4) He purposefully alienated Ron Paul supporters (no I'm not one of them) when he pulled all those shenanigans at the Convention thereby given many of his supporters a good reason to NOT vote for him.

5) He purposefully alienated Palin supporters when he told her to don't come anywhere near his campaign and officially dis-invited her from the Convention thereby given many of her supporters (millions of them) a good reason NOT to vote for him.

6) He came off as Mr. Squishy because he had to flip-flop on too many issues as he ran from his Liberal record. Too many people (myself included) just won't vote for another squishy Republican who will adopt Democrat Policies once in office because he want Democrats to like him. Many of us would prefer a Democrat sitting in the driver's seat of the bus as it goes over the cliff than a Republican. The Democrats OWN the coming collapse.

7) He failed to take the fight directly to Obama and repeatedly passed up chance after chance to deliver a knock-out blow during the debates. This proved what many of us already believed, that Mitt simply lacked the fire in the belly to win (same as McCain). We saw Mitt as someone who would rather lose gracefully than win by somehow having offended his opponent (who was busy calling him a felon, murderer, etc).

8) He conceded the election before all the ballots were counted. Thus, if it turns out that there was rampant election fraud and he would’ve won, for example, Colorado, Ohio, and Florida, it won’t matter because he conceded! He just proved what a fool he was. Even George Bush II wasn’t stupid enough to concede the election before all the ballots were counted.

9) He repeatedly stated that he wanted to “Work in a bipartisan manner with Democrats”. When many of us hear those words it translates immediately into “I want the Democrats to play me for the fool that they know I am!” Many of us want to work with the Democrats as much as they want to work with Republicans which is NOT AT ALL unless we’re wholly adopting their agent. As such, many of us simply won’t vote for a man who thinks Democrats are okay people but just a little misguided. This shows that he simply doesn’t understand the kind of people that he’s up against.

10) Lastly, he hired, AS HIS TOP CAMPAIGN ADVISORS, the very same old-school, out-of-touch, establishment-type people who ran John McCain’s failed campaign. Simply put, STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

In sum, Mitt Romney has nobody to blame but himself.

Since you think it’s 100% true. I think it’s silly, and better explained by married households having children and their priorities shifting as a result. As a recent father I can attest to this personally. I can also say that my wife is more vocal in her conservatism than I am – hardly her ‘getting in line’.

Also, it’s easy not to care about the national debt when you’re not concerned about who has to pay it off. Again, priorities, not prejudices.

http://www.studentpulse.com/articles/127/the-effect-of-marriage-on-political-identification

Here is something I found that goes into phenomenon with different theories why it happens and what variables may change it.

But if you look at voter demographics you will see that:

White single males lean majority conservative and vote Republican.

Married white males lean majority conservative and vote Republican.

Single white women towards liberalism and voting Democratic

Married women(in general) more often than not take on the political views of the husband after marriage or at least vote in that manner.

Now while I personally consider conservatism close-minded by nature, contextually it isn't always a negative but sometimes (in my view as per our current discussion in regards to conservatives reaching out to other demographics) it seems to be a negative. I can't, however, attest the interpretation of "close-minded" by the poster you originally quoted.

On the Politico map, it is now up to just under 57,951,518 popular votes for Romney, with what looks like some more votes being reported from the State of Washington. That state now has 66.4% reported, and a few hours ago they were only at 57.9%, and even lower than that just a few hours earlier.

So, there is still a significant chunk of State of Washington votes to be reported for both candidates, and perhaps they are out there attempting to tally most of them this afternoon -- with a few hours left.

In Michigan, with only 3.5% still outstanding, I figure there are about 76.073 Romney votes outstanding and approximately 90,347 Obama votes to be tallied.

Oregon still has 5.1% of their votes outstanding; Montana 6.4% (which because of their low population doesn't translate into that many votes); Arkansas still has 2.3% out.

Alaska, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota each have miniscule percentages (less than 1% each) still out, as do New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts.

New York and Maine each have just under 2% remaining untallied.

Of course there's an uphill battle, though fewer and fewer trust the media. But how much energy has been wasted by people with the megaphones about birth certificates and the "war on Christmas"? Everybody here and everybody we know should have these facts down pat. Dennis Prager, with whom I've disagreed from time to time, nailed it, though. Even Mitt didn't set the record straight went Obama brought up "going back to the same policies that got us into this mess in the first place" ad nauseum.

Agreed. Unfortunately, us immigrants, are all lumped in the "minority" column. There's so much profiling in America except at the airport. God help us. We really need to fix the union controlled education system in this country. Start at the root of the problem.

Let's not forget that Romney never got close to 0bama in the polls until the debates, and those numbers have proven to be a fluke.

If you want to win you need a good record to run on, a solid message concerning the future of America, AND you need to fight the liberal from the start, not in the last 2 months of the election.

Heck, even the Romney supporters refused to get off of their benches to help him win. No wonder he lost his state.

Does any analysis of exit polls and voter demographics really matter? I wish just one of the analysts would come right out and say that the vast majority of voters are brain dead morons. They're typically uneducated, uninformed, and just don't have a clue of anything in the political world, or the desire to learn.

Interview after interview with college kids admit they don't follow politics, yet they support Obozo because he's cool, or one I heard say "Because he's done such an amazing job in his first term".
