Hot Air Survey: Your Election Predictions Results

posted at 9:29 pm on November 5, 2012 by Patrick Ishmael

Over 7000 votes later, who do Hot Air readers think will win the Presidency in 2012? Drum roll please…

Okay, so that wasn’t so surprising. But I found this reader-chosen hierarchy of likely Romney states a little surprising:

Florida leads with 99%; Oregon rounds things out at 8%. For those wondering, the percentage for Pennsylvania, an (accidental) late addition, is calculated against the number of voters (thousands) who had it available as an option.

When will this thing be called? Hot Air readers seem to think that we may be in for a late night…

Will the GOP have a majority in the Senate? Readers were torn.

But readers weren’t torn in thinking that the GOP will gain seats in the House.

And the rest:

Thanks to everyone who participated! Questions? You can reach me on Twitter at @theish.

You know what is so smart about holding rallies tomorrow – the optics. If they pull the crowds they pulled today – that is going to be all over the TV. He looks and acts like a winner.

Flora, remember to take some water or coffee with you, since the hospital stuff is awful and you’ll likely not want to get too far from the waiting room in any case. Also, take along some protein bars, chips, etc. and a good book or magazines to read, since what they have will also be sub-par. Five hours is quite a while when you’re under that kind of stress. Its important for you to take care of yourself, too.

I’m sure that all will go very well.

thatsafactjack on November 5, 2012 at 10:47 PM

EV: 295. Romney takes FL, VA, NH, CO, IA, OH, WI. 51.5-47.7…

Senate: We lose ME, MA. All of our others including IN, NV are holds. We pick up NE, ND, MT, WI, MO, VA.

House: About even. Hoping Buerkle hangs on.

Still hopeful for much more, including upsets out of Mandel and Smith, but this is as much as my natural pessimism will allow even with the few hints out there of a possible landslide.

I don’t buy the nonsense that Warren is safely ahead. That’s bunk as much as most of the other polls. Yet judging from the state and the few bellwether #s I’ve seen, I’m inclined to think it will be Fauxcahontas narrowly… 50-49.

Not entirely giving up then, but pessimistic. I’m giving him a better chance than Mack and probably about the same as Mandel. Smith, I don’t really know what to expect. I never considered that one in play, but every conservative on Twitter seems to be looking at it hard.

That choice is quite encouraging. Cleveland, more of a blue collar town that trends heavy D, and Pittsburgh, blue collar as well, but tending R in recent years. So, he’s playing on Obama turf in the first case and his own, pretty much, in the second. Team Romney has obviously made the decision that he can turn some votes in Ohio and bring out some votes in PA. A good closing strategy.

Republicans take back the senate

Conservative supreme court justices hold out for retirement

Good thing Romney is going to win in a landslide

Tomorrow night will be the sweetest moment in our history of American politics. The night the USA woke up and said NO to a Pretender-in-Chief, to crushing deficits, to spend, lie, spend, lie, spend, lie, spend. To Gomer Pyle foreign policy. To cluelessness. To arrogance. To sanctimony and condescension. To the cult of personality. Gotta love it. It’s ours.

My prediction is: Riots.

A lot of states are going to be close, lawyers will swoop in, accusations will be made, and leftists will be convinced that racist Nazis are trying to steal the election and will riot.

Keep your powder dry.

Pray for our country. And pray for Mr. Romney. We are very lucky he’s doing this for us .

Willard Mitt Romney, the 45th President of the United States of America!

Either Romney wins decisively on election night or it’s too close, the lawyers get involved and Obama steals it.

He definitely needs to win outside the margin of error. That being said, win or lose, it’s apparent due to the outstanding insanity of Institutional Pravda that the only Republican who had a chance this cycle was Mitt. As good as Palin is at understanding the issues, she’d be losing by Goldwater/McGovern levels right now through no real fault of her own. Newtron’s bringing out Bain in the primaries actually helped Mitt, because it tied the criticism to a manifestly unpopular politician and made it old news by the time the general cycle rolled around.
