I think the Candy lady who helped O shaft Mitt in the debate did it.

The problem is you can’t plug them into anything handy. So you need to do some special wiring to jury-rig them. That labor is better spent restoring the normal power.

The military uses their large generators all the time without “jury-rigging” them. There are procedures for doing this.
The guard’s generators should be used while people wait for the union power company workers to get the main power back up.

I truly hate the media. Compare the coverage of Benghazi to Abu Ghraib, these people have no souls.

Isn’t that what Andrea Mitchell said on MSNBC when she MOCKED Romney for loading some on a truck at a relief stop?

Didn’t she say it was ludicrous to stock up on “stuff” like that; that the red Cross says only give money, not goods?

She should be forced to live a week without water in a cold room.

Expecting a long time before power to be restored they gathered peoples’ freezers and refrigerators and lined them up in the yard. Each of the units were marked with masking tape. Saved a LOT of food that way.

They even had cookouts for the community almost daily. People pitched in.

Only Katrina was a much worse storm, in a worse area from a photo-op POV, with a less competent governor, an infinity less engaged mayor, and a media that blamed every flooded street on the president instead of tingling all over at his image.

And I won’t even mention that the race-baiters were making sh*t up about W blowing the levies and such (oops… too late).

Perhaps it is time for Sarah Palin to take Andrea out fishing again!
Andrea Mitchell with fish guts splattered on her face was a sight to behold….that and the turkeys being slaughtered behind Palin
while she gave an interview one time. I laughed so hard.

I remember the turkey interview. Just loved the pearl clutching afterwards about OHMYGOD turkeys were getting killed back there.

I’m thinking MAYBE the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Governor in N.J. did – Cuomo in NY? Not so much.

Bloomberg’s predecessor doesn’t have much sympathy for him — or for Barack Obama, either. Rudy Giuliani angrily castigated both for their inadequate response to the disaster. Where are the generators, Giuliani wondered — and the water?

Why doesn’t Bloomberg simply kiss Obama’s ass and stroke his nether regions gently like Fat Assed Chris Christie did?

This may be a case where Mayor Bloomberg thought that “I will reassure the public that everything is under control so the Marathon will go on” ala Guliani on and after 9/11. What he didn’t think to consider is that however horrible 9/11 was, it was a very localized but intense disaster while Hurricane Sandy was a more widespread disaster that will take longer to pick up the pieces and make things right again. One might think that Bloomberg was “fighting” the last disaster, in his response not coping with the actual, current disaster which was quite different.

Yes but they could be hooked up to schools or churches or other buildings that would allow people someplace to get out of the elements.

One of the nation’s largest suppliers of dehydrated food has cut loose 99% of their dealers and distributors. And it’s not because of the poor economy. It’s because this particular industry leader can no longer supply their regular distribution channels. Why not? Because they’re using every bit of manufacturing capacity they have to fulfill massive new government contracts. Look, the government has always been a customer of the industry to some extent. But according to our sources, this latest development doesn’t represent simply a change of vendor on the government’s part. It’s a whole new magnitude of business.

And that’s not all.

Apparently, even though they’ve cut off their regular consumer markets, the industry leader I’ve just mentioned still can’t produce enough survival food to meet the government’s vast requirements. How do we know? Earlier this month, FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) put out a Request for Proposal, or RFP, for even more dehydrated food. The RFP called for a 10-day supply of meals – for 14 million people. That’s 420 million meals. Typically, FEMA maintains a stockpile of about 6 million meals. Why the sudden need to increase the stockpile by 420 million more? (And that’s in addition to whatever our aforementioned industry leader is supplying.) It almost seems like they’re trying to stock a modern day “Noah’s Ark,” doesn’t it?
