You’re right, Obama’s ahead in Ohio, PPP, Time and CNN’s polls tell me so. Everyone knows their results aren’t skewed, right?

That’s why I had to see it for myself, and I was pleased with what I saw. I even saw a few of the coal signs, which seemed odd for SW Ohio. The enthusiasm was in-your-face over there, back in ’08, it’s nowhere to be seen today, didn’t even see an Obama bumper sticker. It ain’t over till it’s over, but I’m not quite as nervous about Ohio as I was.

More Ohio polls came out today. They have it tied Obama +1 and Obama +4. It’s close but he’s ahead. And with storm of the century sucking up all of the media attention Romney running out of time to make that ground up. On the other hand maybe the storm will suppress Obama GOTV.

FIRE OBAMA signs are thick as mushrooms in this neck of the woods (Western PA). Almost every yard has one.

A friend of mine posted a picture of a large Romney/Ryan sign in his neighborhood in Fort Worth that was defaced with Obama spray painted all over it.

The one thing that jumped out at me today, is that the enthusiasm that was there for O in ’08, is gone in ’12. GONE!

All the polls are based on the idea that Obama will top the enthusiasm of 2008 and Republicans are going to be so demoralized they just stay home with the curtains drawn and the lights out. I spent a good portion of Sunday morning listening to Dems telling the punditocracy that Romney was delusional because he is going to lose Ohio. Are you actually suggesting that it might not be true??? ;0

All I can tell you is that the closeness of the race in Virginia is not as clear as the pundits would tell you. Virginia may be a swing state but it seems more and more less swingy than the commies supporting Obama would like you to think I drove through parts of Arlington and Alexandria today. Just as many Romney signs as those of the rat-eared wonder. This was not the case in 2008. I know that yard signs are not an accurate indicator BUT they do give a sense of the general mood.

Another group that Obama gets support from in Ohio are the Unions that represent the Prisons. They vote job security, period. The only way they would not, would be if you could convince them they are going to lose their jobs.

Prisons are not going away but this is the perfect crowd for the union thugocracy. Nothing against your relative and prison workers have a tough job but you hardly need a PhD to do it (if you know what I mean). Prison workers are not unintelligent but they are essentially an armed version of the DMV where the bureaucracy of the job crushes any sort of personal initiative or idea that they can make it without shop stewards and collective bargaining. Very easy to brainwash these people into thinking that their future is brighter under the thumb of a rat-eared socialist.

Romney’s ace in the hole might be the 18 counties in Ohio that still produce coal. Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency regulations targeting coal are not popular in those areas.

Not only Obama’s war on coal affects jobs in those Counties & PA as well, but the entire State will suffer from higher electricity rates. I think Romney when in Ohio & PA and any other States that produce coal should make this a point whenever he has a Rally.

Glad to hear that since that County is a Democratic Stronghold. There are other Counties that are the same. In the March Primary, Santorum was leading until those votes came in. Don’t know if the Dems voted Romney to keep Santorum from winning or not.
