Video: The dinosaur election

posted at 2:41 pm on October 26, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

It’s an interesting phenomenon that, in a state like Virginia that’s enjoying below-average unemployment and above-average economic growth due in large part to its conservative governance and sound economic principles, the effect of the somewhat-insulation from the recession might actually be to make the state a little more swing-y in Barack Obama’s favor than it might otherwise be.

The same folks who are challenging the deceptive claims made in the now-infamous anti-fracking “documentary” Gasland are examining how a similar effect from the shale gas boom might be taking hold in the swing states of Pennsylvania and especially Ohio. Domestic energy production has brought plenty of job creation and economic growth to those states of late, but it isn’t because of the “green technology” in which the Obama administration has frivolously “invested” billions of our tax dollars — it’s because of the hydraulic fracturing methods and hydrocarbon resources on which a second Obama term will likely be looking to clamp down. If you watch nothing else today, watch this.

Someone please enlighten me why the video is called “Dinosaur election”. I only saw one dinosaur, and it wasn’t even solid purple as good dinosaurs are supposed to be, just its lips were.

Archivarix on October 26, 2012 at 2:50 PM

Fracking is one of the few things keeping the Obama depression from deepening and it will be the first thing to go if we’re stupid enough collectively to re-elect this worthless idiot.

NoDonkey on October 26, 2012 at 2:50 PM

So now Obama team has put up a picture of Romney in a dunce cap. I seriously am fuming right now. No, not thin skinned, but it has been one thing after another with this man.

I have never heard of a sitting President acting like this, doing and saying the things he has been, before. He has diminished the Office more than I had ever heard or seen before. It is simply astonishing how this does not get displayed on the news for all to see, while the media scolds him for continuing to lower the bar. Had this been Romney, well, you can imagine the fire storm.

bucsox79 on October 26, 2012 at 2:53 PM

And now the oh-not-so-presidential campaign has put a dunce cap on Romney. Obamuh’s policies are extremely stupid and now apparently so is his behavior–and it’s getting worse!

stukinIL4now on October 26, 2012 at 2:53 PM

In the Obama Administration, they abhor fracking but love them some good voting sex fluking.

Longing4Lincoln on October 26, 2012 at 2:54 PM

Does anyone below 40 even know what a dunce cap is?

A dunce cap is about as non-PC as every kid not receiving a participation trophy.

This is a good video..I was wondering where they were going with it…for a minute, I thought it was going to be another giant whopper of a lie/tongue bath for Captain Kick A$$…

BOOM!!

PantLoad is losing this thing big time……

BigWyo on October 26, 2012 at 2:59 PM

This is why a good solid ad campaign is critical, to educate why they need to vote straight line GOP.

Rebar on October 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM

…in all the states where more conservative candidates won in 2010…and started slowly turning the local economy around despite the Federal Government…JugEars is trying to take credit!

Obama is so ignorant.

economic growth is linked to the availability of cheap energy. Oil is expensive, but cheap natural gas is saving the economy as industries and transports switch from oil to natural gas. and its all happening mostly in the rust belt.
natural gas probably saved obama economy from a complete collapse but also destroyed the competitiveness of alternative energies.

One more thing..I keep hearing about this ‘New’ fracking technology…there was, what looked like some geology expert in the vid…saying ‘in the last 5 years’…

They’ve been fracking oil formations for 50 years…or more..

Just wondering…

That only reflects the Barry/Axelrod campaign is totally out of ideas and dignity. That kind of grade school behavior will backfire on them big time come election day.

bucsox79 on October 26, 2012 at 2:53 PM

I understand.

But let me help you turn that frown upside down: Each time you feel this way, just toss a few more dollars at the Elect Romney money bomb. It’s very therapeutic. Repeat as necessary.

Barry Obama; the Foreign Student Coke Dealer #bullshitter
This limp-wristed POS and his gang of Marxist stooges allowed brave men to DIE by not lifting a finger to send help for many hours while they fought and died for their country.

Ironically – despite Oprompta – but the low-infos will still pull the lever for him – the morons.

So EPA is tasked with moving the country away from fossil fuels?

This is mission creep in the extreme. The EPA should be about cleaning up toxic messes.

The party of science strikes again.

Can’t wait until after Frankenstorm to hear about how this perfect storm was caused by Climate Change and how all the climate change deniers are anti-science. But, mention the fracking studies, and then its a big-oil conspiracy.

Add horizontal to that drill and that thin layer becomes unlimited potential.

deptofredundancydept on October 26, 2012 at 8:41 PM

lol, they think oil comes from dinosaurs.

speekr on October 27, 2012 at 5:00 AM

I should note that much of Obama’s support in VA is Northern VA federal bureaucrats and hyper liberals, Richmond city African-Americans and bureaucrats and the Hampton Roads African-American population. Just a few miles outside those concentrated and Left beholden, population centers, the state is pretty solid Republican/Conservative. While VA does not have much fracking interest, energy is still an issue. VA is a big mining coal state. There is a great deal of discussion about uranium mining in SW VA. Gov. McDonnell came into office touting off-shore oil and gas drilling, which EPA and Interior are preventing. The Obama regime is interfering from all sides.

ironked on October 27, 2012 at 12:25 PM

Can we please at least employ facts about these issues? Neither natural gas nor crude oil are products of dinosaur fossils. Organic plant matter is far more likely, when under intense pressure and heat, to produce natural gas than animal corpses. And there is no way that dinosaurs found their way UNDER the shale plates of the marcellus tract.

The term “Fossil Fuel” has been the first and biggest lie of the enviro-fascists, and it must be destroyed if we every hope to end their stranglehold on this nation’s prosperity in the name of conservation. Crude oil and natural gas are renewable byproducts of the planet, and will always be available.

Oil seepage into the ocean floors has been detected throughout the world. The number, concentration, and location of prehistoric creatures could never have been adequate to supply the sources of all that oil, in all those places, and thousands of feet below the current ocean bottoms. Utterly ridiculous.

Aside from that, this is a good ad.
