Obama pretends that GM and Chrysler had massive market share. If they combined had 25%, all the other brands could have stepped up production.

Had both liquidated, Johnson Controls and other OEM would have bought plants at a discount and expanded both shifts and lines.

It’s doubtful the typical O-Bot dullard knows there is more than one form of bankruptcy. Romney should have used the term reorganization – that’s what he was really advocating.
Had the GM reorganized they might have been able to euthanize the UAW, thus putting it out of our misery for good.

If the car companies (except Ford who took no bail out $$) had been allowed to go bankrupt as a normal business routine, the unions would not now own a portion, gotten $7K Christmas bonuses, nor prevented everyone else from getting a bonus. So, Volt costs $44K…but Toyota newest small car gets 53 miles per gallon at $15K…their Prius costs less than Volt and is both gas and electric. The difference? No Volts from tax dollars, no $20K credits for Volt and GM might still be able to do better here in the USA….Fiat? Tessler? Solyndra? The list is endless with Obama…don’t help those who help themselves and everyone else…just help the lazy!!

Well, yes Barky, Romney did not say that. He said let GM go through bankruptcy like any other company that seeks to reorganize under its protections.

“He tried to explain that somehow I was taking his advice,” Obama continued, adding that if Romney had been president in 2008, the U.S. “might not have an auto industry today.”
“Might”, such strong words from Obummer. An asteroid might hit the Earth today. A bus might flip over and kill everyone at the bus stop. George Soros might wake up and realize he needs to see firsthand if Hell is hot.

No, Unacceptable. He and his co-conspirators, cronies and criminals must be held accountable. They must pay, be humiliated, such that none ever want to have anything to do with them or their treasonous political party. Ever. Again.

The notion that he/they will be allowed to simply waltz off to a semi-private luxurious existence somewhere is simply intolerable and unacceptable if want to a) consider this a nation of laws for *all*, and b) don’t want to invite the same and worse in the future by choosing to tolerate it now.

After the snarky lecture Obama gave Romney last night about boats, bayonets, and donkeys or whatever, Romney should totally feel within his rights to give Obama a lecture on the meaning of the word “bankruptcy.” The difference would be that Romney would actually be telling Obama something he doesn’t already know.

What’s wrong with the headline “Let them go bankrupt”? Many many companies go through bankruptcies every year and come out in better shape than they entered. What Obama did was to lock in the fiscal problems that GM had with his meddling ways and hurt all of the people who had helped GM out buy buying their bonds and stock. The people that hurt GM, the UAW and the many supplier unions took no hit and were allowed to keep their inflated salaries and benefits. So now the US is out $50 billion and the unions are still overpaid with pensions and healthcare costs that are way out of proportion to their value as workers and GM is on the path to bankruptcy. Had they gone through normal bankruptcy they would now be in good shape to survive the real world competition. Most businesses that go bankrupt never miss a day of production or layoff their workers. If they do it is the fat that caused the problem in the first place. Obama has shown his ignorance of business matters and the sooner we get rid of him the better.

So Romney is a bad guy in the pockets of big business and he wouldn’t have thrown away hundreds of billions of dollars bailing out big businesses like Obama did.

So support Obama, who will promise to throw billions more at corporations; and not the Romney guy in the pocket of corporations who won’t throw billions of dollars of your money at businesses.

I, and most people I know simply wanted GM to go thru the proper channels to right the ship. The bail out was simply a disguise to pay off union money. Ford did not accept money and is as strong as ever.
