Megyn Kelly: Media in spin room laughed and applauded at Obama’s “bayonets” line
posted at 4:41 pm on October 23, 2012 by Allahpundit
Via Mediaite. I take it the defense here will be that they weren’t rooting for Obama, just grooving on a righteous zinger expertly dealt even though it was incorrect on the merits. But maybe I’m wrong; maybe there’ll be no defense. The media’s gotten more forthright about its biases and shortcomings over the past 10 years thanks to the endless watchdogging online, so there’s no sense grasping for excuses. Why bother? Everyone knows the score. This isn’t the first time reporters have been caught rooting publicly against a Republican, either. The Seattle Times gave bloggers a week of laughs five years ago when they admitted that some staff members had cheered Karl Rove’s resignation; the editor reprimanded them for showing partisanship in a place as “sacred and magical” as the newsroom. A few days later, Joe Scarborough revealed that people in the MSNBC “newsroom” had booed Bush consistently through one of his SOTUs. When he told MSNBC prez Phil Griffin about it, Griffin supposedly “turned red very quickly” and put a stop to it. And that’s how MSNBC became the sober, studiously nonpartisan investigative news team that you know today.
Speaking of Fox and last night’s debate, it ended up being the highest-rated program in the network’s history, slightly ahead of their audience for the Palin/Biden debate in 2008. Total television viewers according to Nielsen’s preliminary estimate were 53.9 million, which is predictably way off the pace of the first and second debates. Too much competition last night with the NLCS and “Monday Night Football” and likely not enough interest in foreign policy. It may also be that low-information voters decided they didn’t need a third look at Romney. He killed in the first debate and was perfectly acceptable in the second, so he’d already cleared the bar of viability. And he knew it, which is why he was playing prevent defense.

Obama seems like such a small, bitter man. His facial expressions irk the crap out of me. I am SO ready to see the door smack him as he’s leaving. His nastiness and anger just oozes out of him like a living thing.

The MSM is the fourth wing of the Democrat party. I think that just as most of these jour-o-lists are given their pink slips the Romney adminstration should announce sweeping unemployment changes. These changes would involve having to go through basic journalist school again before being allowed to write for any publication or blog. These b–tards are the enemy, they are liars, they are enablers, they are evil. This infuriates me!

Citizen Obama’s quip is particularly galling considering a robust Navy is essential to projecting power around the world and for rapid reaction to terrorist strikes and fewer dead ambassadors.

Not a whole lot of Navy ships in southside Chicago.
Obama was hoping for a gaffe like Ford’s comments about Eastern Europe when debating Carter (no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe). Link It didn’t happen which has the left in full panic mode today. In 2008, they were predicting 50 years of absolute control by one party. Today they are whoring for electoral votes in NH which has four.

Allow the country to become economically and militarily weak and then observe how fast it will be challenged by Russia and China. Military strength is not simply to fight hot wars, it is a deterrent . . . or in a vernacular liberals can understand, a prophylactic.

Oh! I’ve got to disagree. I think the best statement was when Romney called out the rat-eared wonder for visiting all of our enemies and sometime allies but never managing to visit Israel. If that doesn’t score points among the Jewish vote, nothing will and they are hopelessly in the tank for the left despite the way Democrats take their vote for granted.

All I can say is that it’s nearly impossible for for a Republican (not even Reagan)to be judged the “winner” of these debates because of the doubled loaded dice of the MSM and biased moderators-although in the last debate it was more Romney’s caution than a biased moderator that gave Obama style points.
I think I understand Romney’s caution–better to protect a narrow over all lead than to ruin it all with a disastrous gaffe. And there certainly were plenty of gaffe-traps being laid by Team Obama in ‘foreign policy’ where the appellation ‘war monger’ has devastated other Republican hopefuls. The suggestion of a “mad man” with an “itchy trigger finger” can send voters into a panic-and, more importantly, to conveniently forget disastrous Democratic stewardship.
The policy of caution, however, does have some negatives. You have preserved your two point lead but a more aggressive, attacking approach could have given you a five point lead.In the next two weeks a major gaffe by Romney or his staff (ROMNEY CAMPAIGN MANAGER HAS AFFAIR WITH UNDERAGE GIRL)–only a theoretical example–can put Team Obama within field goal range to squeak it out.

That’s probably one of the few things he’s said lately that is actually grounded in reality. What’s really sad is that he thought it was a self-compliment. What it really means is that he is stupid, vicious, mendacious, and corrupt enough to fit in perfectly among that band of lying fascist crooks.

Obama just doesn’t get what the Navy is all about. If you have a strong Navy, you cannot be invaded. Another country may have a strong army, but if they cannot transport them or transport supplies, it makes no difference. With a strong Navy, you can plant aircraft and ships in places where you have no bases.
If on the other hand, the U.S. has a weak navy, the game theoretic incentives change. Adversaries realize that the U.S. may not decide to step in if you attack their allies, local, regional arms races take off, and the world becomes, paradoxically, less safe than before.
Obama does not understand game theory, the power of deterrence and military might.

It’s unbelievable that the Commander in Chief does not know that our military uses bayonets, nor that a submarine is a “boat,” not a ship.

Does Obama know that the rest of the world isn’t still living like it’s 1917 either? Like.. other nations are also building “boats with planes that come down on them and boats that go underwater called submarines?” That some of these nations building the boats aren’t always exactly our friends? Does he realize this? And that while he’s decimating our military some of these nations are expanding their “boats that go underwater and boats that have planes go down on them?” Does he realize that no matter how wonderful these “boats” of ours are.. they can’t be in 16 freaking places at once? Does he understand that? That the rest of the world is building lots of boats just like our too and that if you need more of these “boats that have planes going down on them” it takes years to build them! You can’t just order them up like fries and a chili dog? Does he realize that?
