Clinton: Obama would totally win if Americans weren’t so darn “impatient”

posted at 4:01 pm on October 20, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

One among the top tier of President Obama’s army of surrogates strikes again. Trying to promote Team O’s latest messaging that, why yes, we are indeed shameless enough to actually embrace our economic record and spin it as a positive, President Bill Clinton painted a picture of Americans that was somewhat less than flattering on the campaign trail on Friday, via CBS News:

Campaigning for Obama in Green Bay, Wis., Clinton urged voters to stay the course as more signs of a recovery sink in. Clinton said voters should judge Obama on the past three years, in which private sector job growth has made up for lost ground.

“This shouldn’t be a race,” Clinton said. “The only reason it is, is because Americans are impatient on things not made before yesterday and they don’t understand why the economy is not totally hunky-dory again.”

The former president said Obama’s difficulty in his race with Republican challenger Mitt Romney is that “people don’t feel it yet” even as the unemployment rate ticks down and the manufacturing sector perks up.

Oh, of course — but for those damnably impatient Americans who have spent the last few years watching their incomes shrink and gas and food prices rise; who’ve seen their employers dropping health insurance plans; who’ve been unemployed or underemployed for months on end; they just don’t get it. Forget that President Obama employed Keynesian principles that have kept us in the most milquetoast economic recovery since the Great Depression: There are just too many factors outside of his control, for which we shouldn’t blame him, and if we just hike taxes a bit on the wealthiest few Americans (who already happen to shoulder the largest tax burden while providing jobs for others), then we can just take our sweet time reforming our current spending habits while adding trillions to the debt.

But Clinton says that it’s Mitt Romney who “thinks we’re dumb.” Riiiiight.

By ‘impatient,’ I guess he really means ‘expecting actual results instead of just lip service.’

Clinton’s comment leaves a hole big enough to drive a Romney bus through.

How long should we wait, Mr Clinton?

If this is a ‘recovery’, then why is it so much slower than any this country’s seen in the past?

And aren’t the fiscal, tax, and regulatory policies of the current administration substantially to blame for this ‘failure to thrive’?

President Obama’s a 16th-century doctor, applying leeches to a sick patient. And we know how well that worked then.

Clinton is right, it shouldn’t be a race, it s/b 20% Obama.

United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week. The intervention has drawn criticism from a prominent conservative-leaning group combating election fraud.

The Clinton’s have likely struck a deal with the Democratic party inner circle. In exchange for their standing by Obama and trying to spin his dismal failings as pluses their daughter, Chelsea, gets the inner circle’s nod for a political career.

Being ‘foundation stock’, as it were, in the Democratic party over the last several decades, the Clinton’s have run out of time for any hope of fulfilling Hillary’s ambition to be President. Bill has a major coronary problem and Hillary will be nearly 70 by the time 2016 rolls around. In reality her only experience has been one short partial stint as the wife of the Governor of Arkansas, First Lady during her husband’s two terms as President, Senator for less than a full term, a failed presidential candidate, and Secretary of State during an administration with an abysmal record both at home and abroad.

I believe that Hillary and Bill have cut a deal to give their support as needed to Obama, but more importantly to the Democratic party, in exchange for support to Chelsea’s political ambitions.

Its worth noting that Chelsea made those ambitions known only this last week.

In a way, you have to feel sorry for Hillary. But, I don’t. She likes being a doormat to powerful man-child-like men and womanizer rapists. The woman definitely has a psychological problem. Guess she owes whatever status she has to men. What has she really accomplished on her own. She had a chance as SOS, and it turns out she was/is a POS failure. She has never been anything more than a political whore to successful men. The fact that she would ever be a nominee for POTUS is a testament to how stooooopid Americans have become. Guess Bill knows this, too. He probably asks himself daily, ” with all the beautiful women out there, how the hell did I get stuck with this.”

But at the same time those “polls” also said by a very wide (over 65%) margin that the only thing his Presidency would be remembered for was scandal.

Any credible “historian” could also argue that Bill left his successor the deadliest attacks in American history, as bin Laden was on record as saying those attacks were intended to take place before Clinton left office.

But there is no longer such a thing as a “credible historian”, because 99.9% of them voted for Clinton.

Either his meds are affecting his frontal lobe reasoning skills or he’s saying things he KNOWS will piss voters off.

You’re average dipsh1te running for town council knows better than to blame the voters so I am thinking he is letting the SCOAMF’s campaign bleed from the little daily cuts he can make over and over again.

Hillary should never hold public office again. She backed Chavez wannabe Zelaya’s attempted coup in Honduras, tried to create another Vietnam for America in Iraq and Afghanistan, betrayed our strategic ally Mubarak knowing FULL WELL that Zawahiri’s boys would steamroll “civil society” on their way to power in Egypt. Backed KNOWN al-Qaeda and AQ affiliates in Libya. Beclowned America in front of Putin with that “Overcharge” button. Actively covered up Benghazi. And the list goes on and on…

Clinton is beginning to sound as dumb as the rest of that gaggle. Whatever else he might be I’ve never considered him stupid but I’m about to reconsider my position.

Campaigning for Obama in Green Bay, Wis., Clinton urged voters to stay the course as more signs of a recovery sink in.

WTH???

Anyone stupid enough to believe that BS deserves four more years of Obummer.

Of course, they believed it back in the ’90s, so I guess it shouldn’t be a shock.

That is just downright insulting for Clinton to even say that. Does he think we are stupid? How incredibly condescending.

Which is why he said it; and in that way.

It appears to lil barry and his advisors that billy is ‘defending’ and supporting d’ohbama…when he is actually insulting voters (at least, those aware enough to understand him) and sending them to the Romney camp.
Many, many people will decide that “at least Romney doesn’t think I’m too stupid to understand”; and will vote for him.
And, I find it hard to believe that BJ “mis-spoke”. As much as I loathe the man, he does know politics and how to play the game.
