Reminds me of the Ursus Tractor factory in communist Poland. They made lots of steering wheels but essentially no tractors. Their worker’s slogan “We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us.” We are much more civilized and solved both halves of this problem; we pay them and they do not even pretend to work.
