Giuliani: The WH is trying to “run out the clock” on Benghazi investigation

posted at 1:21 pm on October 15, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Gotta’ love Rudy Giuliani’s honest commentary — no cowardly mincing of words for this guy. Soledad O’Brien tries to challenge him on his uncomortable-for-the-Obama-administration version of events and indict his use of “coverup” as too harsh a term, but he’s just not having it:

The coverup of Benghazi is startling. … I mean, the reality is, he said, ‘We didn’t know they were asking for more security.’ Where the heck was he? I mean, they were demanding more security, they were begging for more security. … Who put Susan Rice on, the State Department or the political people? That was a political appearance on CNN. So, what they’re really trying to do is, they’re trying to run out the clock. They’re going to have this investigation, investigation will be after the debate, after the election is over. So what they’re trying to do is cover up this scandal as much as possible. … Am I debating with the president’s campaign? I mean, the defense of the president is overwhelming. Pretty amazing… Susan Rice goes out there, four days after, says this was a spontaneous demonstration. It clearly wasn’t. There was information, both in the State Department and in the White House, that it wasn’t. There was no protest in advance. This sounds like a coverup. If this weren’t a Democratic president, I think you people would be going crazy.

As Giuliani points out, the reality of what happened in Benghazi is just the tiniest bit inconvenient for Team Obama’s “I have killed bin Laden, quelled the tide of terrorism, and effectively ended the wars in the Mideast” foreign-policy narrative. The decision to deploy Susan Rice to spin a more politically-conducive tale to the public was just the start of the White House’s attempt to hide/distract from the true extent of the damage here and the several fronts on which the administration failed to address concerns — and yet, the Obama campaign has enough brazen contempt to claim that the “entire reason” the Benghazi attack is an issue is because Team Romney is making it “political.” Pot, meet kettle.

This is a great comment from the stupid NYT editorial.

Vic Ortiz
Rochester, NY

The last two sentences sicken me.

The Times is saying there’s really nothing that could have been done. Even Ambassador Stevens knew there was no way his government could truly protect him.

If that is the case, why did President Obama say this two days after the attack.

“I have directed my administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe.”

A group of Marines called a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team was then deployed to Libya to help secure U.S. facilities.

If the administration could take this action two days after this attack, isn’t it at least possible that it could have done so two weeks prior?

Once again the Times obfuscates by omission, not daring to broach the possibility many are raising that security was not kept light out of necessity, but for reasons of appearance.

NYT, go to Hell/hell.

And, Rudy is also correct that this is a run-out-the-clock scenario for the Odumbo administr–CAMPAIGN, that is. (He’s never had an administration.)

They know that this will not go away, thanks only to the NEW media. (CNN et. al. are simple water carriers for the left.) So, their strategy is to stall until after the election.

If this were a republican president we’d be hearing about “Benghazi-gate” 24/7.

And now the clock is running out on them.

Watergate or F&F? No one died in Watergate and it did not cause deaths in foreign countries nor put weapons into the hands of organized crime.

Watergate or Benghazi scandal? No one died in Watergate including an Ambassador of the US and the people protecting him in a Nation still undergoing a civil war, nor was Watergate entrusted not to contractors but to sub-contractors who just happened to work for the enemy.

The MFM deserves what will happen to it. The audiences are finding better sources of information… not ‘news stories’ as these are just becoming stories to serve an agenda. They could just report facts and save opinion for Saturday and Sunday programs, but that would be far too simple for them.

This is my prediction: Romney wins big, and in the next four years we start to turn things around, by end of 2013 we’ll have legitimate 7% unemployment.

I also predict that large cities realize in a substantial way that they’ve been following a path of destruction for 40 – 50 years, coincidentally timed with the passage of the civil rights movement.

In addition, I see schools begin to teach the importance of Judeo-Christian morals, along with the liberty that comes with a reasonably regulated free-market.

***************
or, we could see massive riots, the cliff turns out to be January 21st, and unemployment rises to 12% by end of 2013. Then the left will smugly say, “See, we told you this experiment called America was doomed [by us]”

Other than that, have a great day.

The move is unusual, because the transcripts of most background briefings are not released — especially if they involve a direct disagreement between the department and the White House.

Accurate quote: “I can see the Benghazi consulate from my State department office.”

I guess we got the answer to hag Hillary’s question of who we trust with the 3AM phone call….neither of them…time for a real president…

Of course it’s a COVERUP, everybody can see it’s a coverup, my dog knows it’s a coverup. They blew it bad long ago with the denial of appropriate security. Stevens should not have been anywhere near Benghazi on 9/11 without massive security. They are trying to cover up the blood of the four they allowed to splash all over them.

LAURA INGRAHAM: I think about Susan Rice going out there on this show and four other shows on Sunday and I’d like to know, did Susan Rice have any direct or indirect contact with anyone from the Obama campaign? David Axelrod? Plouffe? Maybe Valerie Jarrett, she still works in the White House, but obviously very close to the President. Tom Donilon. I would like to know that. I’d like Mr. Axelrod to answer that question.

I would hope that the New York Times, as they camped outside of Scooter Libby’s house during the whole Valerie Plame thing — are you guys (facing fellow panelist Jeff Zeleny of the New York Times) camped outside of the Susan Rice residence? I mean, seriously. Whether she was put out as a sacrificial lamb or not.

We have a dead ambassador, two Navy SEALS dead, another security officer dead, the President answers this the next morning by flying to Vegas for a fundraiser.

Pubs. will lose this moment to score a victory. They are the best at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. What a bunch of dumb asses. The RINOS will never learn that real Americans are not wussies and like to fight to win. We don’t give a rat’s rear about playing nice with the enemy. We believe in kicking the bastoodies when they are down. And they are down. So kick ‘em.

Soledad the Clown, just doesn’t have the intellect, to joust with Giulliani. This airhead has enough trouble reading a teleprompter & keeping the proper expression on her face, let alone try to wrestle with a real politician. These are the types of Obama sycophants that need to be constantly slapped back into place in order to get them ineffective at their mission to save their “Marxist Messiah”. Here’s the easy & simple way to put the Enemy media on the defensive: http://paratisiusa.blogspot.com/2012/09/an-open-letter-to-those-who-should-know.html?spref=tw

We all know what really happened here. No one answered the 3 AM phone call. In fact, no one handed out the PHONE NUMBER for the 3 AM phone call.

After all preezy needed his beauty sleep for the upcoming fund raising jaunt in Las Vegas.

What Did Hillary Tell Obama on 9/11?

On Friday, a CNN reporter asked Hillary Clinton what she was doing as the attack occurred, and Clinton responded with a 400-word answer that avoided the question. Here was the colloquy:

QUESTION: … could you tell us a little bit about what you were doing when that attack actually happened? I know Charlene Lamb, who as the State Department official, was mentioning that she back here in Washington was monitoring electronically from that post what was happening in real time. Could you tell us what you were doing? Were you watching? Were you talking with the President? Any details about that, please.

SECRETARY CLINTON: … I think that it is very important to recognize that we have an investigation going on. [Blah, blah for 222 words]. So that’s what an investigative process is designed to do: to try to sort through all of the information, some of it contradictory and conflicting. [Blah, blah for 76 words]. So I’m going to be, as I have been from the very beginning, cooperating fully with the investigations that are ongoing, because nobody wants to know more about what happened and why than I do. And I think I’ll leave it at that.

QUESTION: Mrs. Secretary, if you could, the question was –

SECRETARY CLINTON: I know, but I’m going to leave it at that.

Later on Friday, the State Department spokesperson was asked why Clinton hadn’t answered, and provided this response:

As you know, she’s not that interested in focusing on herself. But obviously, she was here very late that night. She was getting regular updates from both the DS Command Center and the senior NEA leadership in the building, she was making phone calls to senior people, and so she was obviously very much involved. But I think she was not interested in sort of giving a personal tick-tock. It’s not the way she operates. [Emphasis added].

So, we are supposed to believe that Charlene Lamb didn’t tell Hillary and Hillary didn’t tell Obama? Yeah, riiiiiight.
